"Neh Tanaka-san, you know person who's meant to be returning?  Why exactly has he been off until now?" Inquired Kageyama. Aoi perked up upon hearing him, 'Finally someone asked the question I've been dying to know the answer to.'

"Erm well the thing is.." started Tanaka, scratching his head awkwardly "He's had about a week of house arrest and a one month ban on club activities."

"So he's a delinquent?" concluded Hinata.

"Thats not it kiddo. He's a great guy, he just gets overly excited sometimes. Besides, he could easily be considered Karasuno's genius." Grinned Tanaka. "Although he's not the only genius anymore since Kageyama's here now..." he jokingly glared at Kageyama who blinked uninterestedly.

After bidding farewell to the rest of the team, Aoi immediately went on a jog despite just returning from a practice match. She was brimming with excitement and excess energy and wouldn't be able to fall asleep unless she wore herself out.

Still she could hardly sleep at night, as her thoughts were full of meeting the person who inspired her to not give up on volleyball. She'd looked up to him for over a year and was finally getting a chance to play with him.

At practice the next week, Aoi was helping Hinata with his receives. "Drop your arms down lower, oh and shift you weight slightl-" Aoi demonstrated, until Hinata ran off to intercept Kageyama's serve.

"OI HINATA BOKE! DON'T GET IN THE WAY, THAT WAS ABOUT TO HIT THE BOTTLE JUST NOW!"

"Hibarida! Did I do it right?" Hinata questioned, staring at Aoi with hopeful eyes. "I mean... the ball did kinda go out of bounds." She sweatdropped.

Hinata grumbled under his breath before climbing up the ladder to retrieve the ball that landed on the balcony due to his poor receive as Aoi took a short water break, since instructing Hinata made her throat feel sore.

She saw Kageyama run into another jump serve in her peripheral vision and expected to hear the sound of the ball colliding with the bottle or slamming on the court but was instead greeted by the 'silence' of a perfect receive. She looked up, as her eyes widened in recognition.

"Wahh that was a great serve, a pretty incredible guy's joined the team huh!" grinned Nishinoya Yuu in all his glory.

"NOYA SAAAN!" yelled Tanaka as he entered the gym. "YO, RYUU!!" he bellowed in response.

"First years, meet Nishinoya Yuu, Karasuno's official libero." Announced Daichi. Nishinoya slung his jacket over his shoulder and greeted the new faces with an enthusiastic 'Osu'.

"What's wrong Hinata?" questioned Sugawara, gaining everyones attention as Hinata kept spluttering over his words.

"S-S-Sh-Shorter than me!" he cried on the verge of tears.

"The hell did you just say you bastard?" Threatened Nishinoya, raising a clenched fist whilst Tanaka patted his friends shoulder soothingly, secretly snickering into his hand behind his friend's turned back.

"How tall are you?" Hinata asked, testing his luck. "Haaah? 159cm." He growled.

"UOOO! This is the first time I've been taller than someone since high school started." Hinata bawled like a baby, further aggravating Nishinoya.

"Hibarida is shorter than you too boke." Stated Kageyama. Aoi glared with a pout at the source of that unnecessary comment, as Tsukishima smirked in the background.

"Yeah but..." Hinata took in her appearance; a petite frame engulfed in a monstrously oversized jersey and shorts, with soft looking fluffed up hair, sparkly doe eyes and delicate features to boot.

He blushed a little.

"S-somehow being short seems natural for Hibarida, like I could never imagine him being any taller. So I never really noticed he was shorter than me, it's part of his image!" He reasoned.

"Is it weird that I get what he means?" Asked Suga, nudging Daichi in the ribs.

Aoi remained rooted in one spot unable to approach her idol of almost 2 years, gathering questioning glances from Daichi and Suga. Eventually Tanaka looked her way, and called her over to come introduce herself. "Noya san, thats Kiyoko-san's cousin over there."

Nishinoya turned around to look at the said cousin, knocking the breath out of her lungs. 'Shit. He's so... COOL!' she inhaled sharply, flushing slightly under his gaze.

'It's now or never.' Aoi thought, trembling a little from the excitement and nerves.

Inhaling shakily, she jogged in their direction and stood face to face with her idol as she bowed at 90 degrees

"Hello Nishinoya-san, my names Hibarida Aoi! I'm 160cm, I went to Chidoriyama junior high and saw you playing there, and I've looked up to you ever since and joined Karasuno to be on the same team as you! It's nice to finally meet you, senpai!" She finished, breathing heavily.

'Crap, did I overdo it?'  she cringed, looking up from her bow.
