...Flower of Evil...

A hope. Just one hope is enough to live. Even in the darkest night, the light of a small star is enough to smile.

Iseul pulled the bow string and killed a peasant. She smiled and looked back to see little kids cheering her. She was much more decent than how she was when she first came there. Her hair was tied into a high pony tail and instead of male robes she used to wear,she wore a beautiful a light blue coloured gown. It was not a gown from expensive silks she used to wear but a cheap cloth yet she was happy and satisfied. Her wounds were almost healed and she was getting healthy day by day.

She ran to collect her victory and raised it up,showing it to the kids.

"Sister Iseul caught a big peasant! Today's dinner is going to be extravagant!", Bingwen screamed in delight and ran towards her. The rest of the kids also ran upto her and jumped around her.

Iseul also jumped with them and acted like a child. "Okay little guys,let's go before your big brother come and scold me"

"Aww,you promised to play with us until Sun set!", A girl whined.

Iseul pouted. "But your big brother is so bad. He scolds me everyday"

"I will scold big brother Ming for you!", Bingwen said bravely.

"Really?", A manly voice came from behind them.

They all looked back and saw the so called big brother they were talking about. Xie Ming. The leader of the small village inside the demon's island.

All the kids hid behind Iseul. "Brother Ming! Don't punish us!"

Xie Ming scoffed. "Who told you to steal my bow and bring her out? Didn't I tell you all she is sick?"

"It was Bingwen's idea!", A boy said and pushed Bingwen.

Bingwen again hid behind Iseul making her chuckle. "It was my idea. Let them go"

Xie Ming scoffed. "Fine. Since she said it's her idea,you all can leave. I'll deal with her"

Bingwen widened his little eyes and jumped infront of Iseul. "No!! Don't punish her! It's Bingwen's idea!"

Xie Ming crossed his arms and raised an eyebrow.

Iseul laughed and ruffled Bingwen's hair. "He won't. Go go. Your parents must be waiting for you all. I'll come with brother Ming. Okay?"

"Brother Ming! Don't bully sister Iseul! I'll tell father!", Bingwen scolded him cutely and ran away immediately when Xie Ming rolled his sleeves as he was gonna spank their butts.

Other kids also escaped immediately.

Xie Ming looked at Iseul who was awkwardly holding his bow. He walked towards her with his hands clasped behind his back.

Iseul looked down awkwardly. She felt his palm on her forehead. He was checking her health but this move made her heart skip a beat.

Xie Ming looked at the peasant in her hand. "Tell me,what should I do with you? Should I tie you up to your bed? Huh?"

Xie Ming clearly didn't mean any double meaning but Iseul's mind was way more dirty. Blood rushed to her cheeks and it was way too obvious because of her snowy coloured cheeks.

Xie Ming widened his eyes. "You! What are you thinking?!"

Iseul freaked out. "Nothing!"

"You dirty minded girl!"

Iseul,"I'm not! Why did you have to use inappropriate words?! Huh!"

"How was that even inappropriate! You always run away with kids to play around. Don't you know you are still sick"

Iseul pouted. "I was bored. Plus,I'm fine now"

Xie Ming narrowed his eyes. He sighed. "Let's go", he took the peasant in her hand and turned around to leave.

Iseul happily skipped next to him and walked with him. They walked in silence for a while but Xie Ming broke it soon.

"Since you are getting better", he paused for a moment. "Do you want to go home?"

Iseul stopped walking. Her head lowered. With the reminder of her home,her hands started shaking. She knew that she couldn't stay there forever. The people in this little demonic island were very timid and very innocent. Though they cultivated demonic arts,they were not bad as her kingdom people described. The island was full of demons and wolves but they managed to survive with the help of Xie Ming. His cultivation was very strong comparing to a normal cultivator so he managed to make a protective barrier around their small village.

Iseul is an outsider. She is nothing but a threat to them.

Iseul made up her mind. Every happiness comes to an end. "I will leave soon"

Xie Ming stared at her for a while. He saw how her hands trembled with the mention of her home. "Are you sure?"

She nodded and smiled. "Thank you for your kindness", she bowed her head in respect.

After two days,she was ready to leave. Xie Ming helped her to go out from the island safely. He watched her leaving from afar. After thinking for a moment, he decided to follow her and see what she is going to do. He knew that she used to be a General and after the small encounter at the dungeons, he had a slight feeling that she had some connections with the royal family.

Iseul didn't go to her kingdom. She didn't even look that way and walked to the opposite direction. After walking for a while,she stopped near a lake and sat down.

Xie Ming was curious about what she will do and kept hiding.

After staring at the lake for few minutes, Iseul started crying. Her face turned red as she hiccupped.

Xie Ming watched her crying all alone. Her sorrowful face was so much different from her cheerful smiling face. He wanted to go to her but he was hesitating. Will she be offended if she knew he had been following her?

When he was thinking about these possibilities,he saw something strange about her. Her cries gradually came to a stop but she was twitching her neck from side to side as if she is trying throw away her ugly thoughts. It didn't stop. Her face twitched.

She covered her ears.

His eyes went seeing a black aura surrounding her. A demon! A demon is around her!

The black aura slowly solidified into a man. No,it was a demon looking like a human. Expensive robes,long earrings,long hair till his shoulders and those serpent like eyes with sharp teeth. He was way too familiar with this demon. It was the demon who almost caught him. But  Iseul saved him that day. He didn't know what happened after that. He was in his wolf form. He escaped because he was too weak to fight.

The demon was about to touch Iseul's shoulders when a sharp whip slashed through his skin.

Iseul widened her eyes and looked back.

Xie Ming stood infront of her with his demonic whip.

The creature smiled widely and stuck out his serpent like tongue to lick his lips. The creature was awfully handsome. He looked at his arm which was injured by Xie Ming's whip and licked his blood.

Iseul stood up in shock. She didn't even feel the demon's appearance before.

Xie Ming's whip slashed the air as he stared at the creature. "You again! You shameless creature!"

The creature laughed. "I see. You two met again. How wonderful. But young man,I have no use from you anymore. I only need the girl"

"In your dreams!", Xie Ming exclaimed and charged forward to attack him.

The creature was carefree as he dodged the attacks easily. He laughed while dodging every attack.

Xie Ming stopped and did a hand seal before slapping a talisman towards the creature. The creature burnt his talismans easily and jumped into a tree branch. He squat down and looked at Iseul. "I see,you are resisting me. Tsk,how pitiful. Why don't you just give in to your thoughts? Huh? What do you have now? You lost everything Iseul"

Iseul glared at him. "Shut up!"

The creature laughed loudly. "Was I wrong?your kingdom betrayed you and hurt you.Your father abandoned you.Your brother killed your mother. Your brothers betrayed you and sent you to your death. Not to mention that your mother didn't even get a proper funeral. Your own people curse you. Spit you. What did you do wrong Iseul? You just existed and they hate you. Why are you still like this?"

"SHUT UP! SHUT UP!YOU WILE CREATURE!",she screamed.

"Weakling", he laughed and jumped down and dashed towards her.

But he was smashed into a tree by Xie Ming's whip. He immediately grabbed Iseul's hand. "Don't get shocked"

Xie Ming closed his eyes.

Iseul was confused. But soon her eyes went wide seeing him shape shifting into a large wolf. She recognised this wolf! The wolf she saved years ago!

The wolf growled at her.

Iseul snapped out. She didn't have any time to be in awe and jumped on his back.

Xie Ming immediately ran away with Iseul on his back.

The creature landed on his feet lightly and watched them running away.

"Run run little lady! You can never escape from me! Hahaha haha! I am everywhere!", he screamed like a maniac and laughed out loud. His handsome features twisted with his crazy laugh.

Xie Ming brought Iseul into the demon island again. When they reached the island, it was already night time and the moon was above them.

The wolf slowed down as he had been running for hours now.

"You are a wolf!", she exclaimed loudly. "That wolf! I remember you!"

The wolf rolled its eyes and continued to walk.

"I heard that some demonic cultivators use shape shifting to protect themselves but not everyone can do it. It needs a lot of spiritual energy and demonic energy!"

She stroked his fur softly. "Woah! You are so soft!"

Iseul tickled behind his ear and laughed. "I used to tickle my cats like this and they like it. Do you like it too — Aaaah"

Xie Ming threw her away from his body and continued to walk.

Iseul stomped on her feet ad she got up. "If you didn't like it,you could have just said so! Ah,you can't speak", she ran after him and tried to get on him but apparently he wasn't letting her.

He pushed her away by his paw and walked forward.

"Hey!", she whined.

She sighed and walked beside him. "So,were you following me all day? Why though?", she looked around. "You shouldn't have brought me here again. Now I have to walk again tomorrow to find an inn"

The wolf  Xie Ming stopped and looked at her. He looked like he wanted to say something but because of his wolf form,he couldn't say anything. He knelt down and signalled her to get on his back.

She smiled and got on his back immediately. He again started running fast.

Soon enough, they reached the village. Iseul jumped down.

"Uh,Bingwen's mother must be sleeping. W –Where am I going to sleep?"

Iseul had been sleeping in Bingwen's home during her stay at the village but now they are sleeping, she was hesitant to wake them up.

Xie Ming signalled her to follow him. Iseul immediately followed him and stopped at Xie Ming's cottage.

He entered inside without looking back as the door wasn't locked. Iseul's cheeks turned red. She had no choice but to follow him inside.

She entered inside slowly but she couldn't see him. The cottage was not that bad comparing to the one she stayed. This one was cleaner and better to her taste. Maybe because it was his cottage.

Suddenly, Xie Ming came out from a room and he was in his human form. He was fully clothed.

As he approached her slowly, the redness of her cheeks didn't fade away. She looked up and met his gaze.

"Live here. With us"
