Chapter Ten: Pink
"Wait are you serious?"
"I think so?"
Hoseok watched intently as the blonde haired man in front of him fished around in his bag until he made a noise of approval and pulled his hand out of the bag.
Hoseok's eyebrows shot up as he looked at the item in the older's hand.
"Pink hair dye. Says it right here on the box." Yoongi grinned and proudly pointed to the label on the box. "When do you get off? Want to come over to mine and help me dye it?"
Hoseok didn't answer as his thoughts seemed to float all over the place. He'd never really been over to Yoongi's had he? He wondered what Yoongi's house looked like, did he live alone?
Help Yoongi dye his hair? Hoseok's thoughts trailed off to ones of him running his hands through the older's blonde locks. He felt his face heat up and he looked back up at Yoongi.
"Um.. Can you repeat that? Sorry I didn't hear you." He laughed nervously.
Yoongi laughed and shook his head.
"You're always spacing out aren't you?" Hoseok smiled sheepishly, "But as I was saying, when do you get off? You should help me dye my hair, I've never really done it before." He pointed to his hair. "This is the work of Taehyung, but he also managed to knock over the entire container of bleach in the middle of lightening my hair, which resulted in us having to walk to the supermarket with half of my head coated in bleach."
Hoseok snorted and leaned against the counter, it was a pretty slow day so there weren't any customers right now. Lucky for both of them, because they had no interruptions and could chat for as long as they wanted. That is, until another customer comes in or Seokjin shouts at Hoseok to sweep or something.
Seokjin. At the moment, unbeknownst to the two boys, he was observing them. On his face, was a smile. And it wasn't hard to tell it was an almost proud looking one.
Those two are going somewhere. He thought to himself as he watched Hoseok reach over and play with a few strands of Yoongi's hair, the older looking up at him with a fond smile.
He knew that he technically wasn't supposed to eavesdrop, but he was their Hyung, and basically had to act like Hoseok's mother at some points - so he thought that justified it.
"I'm supposed to get off pretty late tonight actually... Unless I can convince Hyung to let me go early." He heard Hoseok reply, and Seokjin smirked. They both really liked each other, it was so obvious it was almost painful to all of their friends when they said that they were still just friends. Maybe some alone time is all they really need? Seokjin knows that he keeps Hoseok late quite a bit, and on top of college... Plus with a possible contender for a boyfriend, he thinks he can give him a break.
"Hey Hoseok," He called carrying a stack of new cups to place beside the coffee maker. Both of the two looked over at him. "It's really slow today as you've probably noticed. There's no use just having you just stand around here." Hoseok sighed waiting for the list of chores he expected Seokjin was about to list out to him. "You can take the rest of the day off."
Hoseok's eyes widened and Seokjin saw Yoongi's face light up.
"Really?" The brunette asked.
Seokjin nodded.
"Go. I got this, if I need any help I'll just call in Jungkook. He's been asking for more hours anyway."
Hoseok grinned and untied his apron, hanging it on a hook on the backdoor.
"Thank you so much!" He beamed, making Seokjin chuckle.
"It's nothing, now leave."
------------------
"Welcome to my house I guess. It might be a bit messy, but I'm also not a huge fan of extremely messy places; so it shouldn't be that bad." Yoongi walked into his living room, Hoseok trailing behind him slowly, looking around the room. The walls were grey, nothing much on them except a few paintings and a cork board that caught his eye as soon as he walked in. It was covered in various papers that were pinned up there messily. He'd have to ask if he could see that later.
"Okay so, the bathroom's right over here, I assumed that would be the best place to do it because I don't really want dye on my couch." Hoseok chuckled at Yoongi's words.
"Good choice."
It didn't take long for Yoongi to get confused.
"Wait. So the pink stuff mixes with that? But why? It's already pink what's the difference?"
"I don't know. Maybe so that you don't die."
"I don't think that's it."
"Shut up and let me do this okay?" Hoseok laughed. "Namjoon dyes his hair a lot as you probably know, and a lot of the time I've been the one to dye it. It's not that he can't, it's just that he's lazy."
Yoongi smirked and watched Hoseok put on the gloves that came with the dye.
"Sounds like him."
Hoseok hummed in agreement and began applying the dye to the older's hair. Yoongi hissed softly.
"That's cold."
Hoseok giggled and continued working the dye into the now becoming rose coloured hair.
"You'll get used to it." He laughed.
And get used to it he did.
Yoongi hadn't really realized until this point in time how nice it is to have someone run their hands through his hair. It was extremely relaxing, and Yoongi let out a small sigh before letting his eyes flutter closed.
Hoseok raised an eyebrow and smirked before lifting his hands out of Yoongi's hair. He took off his gloves and threw them out.
"Alright. That looks pretty good."
He heard Yoongi let out a sound of protest and opened his eyes to look at Hoseok.
"You know, you could continue doing that." He mumbled sleepily, his eyes half lidded.
Hoseok felt his face heat up and he turned around, throwing out the dye box as an excuse to.
"I could, but I already took off the gloves and I don't exactly want my hands to be pink." He answered, turning back around.
"Then do it after we rinse the dye out." Yoongi suggested, smiling sleepily as he looked up at Hoseok.
"Alright."
--------------------
They rinsed out the dye after forty five minutes and Hoseok had forced Yoongi to keep his eyes closed until his hair was fully dried.
Hoseok blow dried the older's hair, running his hand through the newly pink hair as he did so, smiling at the content look on Yoongi's face.
"Alright." Hoseok beamed, turning off the blow dryer. "You can open your eyes."
Yoongi opened his eyes and looked in the mirror. At first his face looked shocked, which worried Hoseok a bit, but it quickly turned into one of glee.
"Hoseok this looks awesome!" He exclaimed and ruffled up his hair, smiling at the new colour.
"I knew I was right when I said it would suit you." The younger grinned. "Alright, what now?"
"Let's go chill on the couch, you did make a deal with me about what you'd do after we rinsed out the dye right?" Yoongi smirked and lead Hoseok back into the living room.
They both flopped down onto the couch and Yoongi picked up the remote, turning on some random show that Hoseok couldn't recognize right at this moment.
Yoongi's head made its way onto Hoseok's shoulder, making Hoseok smile. He snaked his arm around Yoongi and brought his hand up to run through the older's hair once more.
His stubby fingernails lightly ran across Yoongi's scalp, a quiet sigh escaping through the older's lips as his eyes slowly closed.
Hoseok beamed down at the figure falling asleep so close to him and closed his eyes as well, the movements of his hand becoming lazier as they both fell asleep.
