Chapter 32- New Assignment
The next morning Taehyung awoke to a kiss on the side of his head, and a hand rubbing his hip softly. The male yawned as he opened his eyes and turned his body towards the source of contact.
"Morning" Jungkook said with a soft smile. Taehyung could only smile back at the sight. The younger's hair was tousled and sticking up in random places, his nose ring wasn't centered, and his eyes looked doused with sleep.
"Mornin' bun" Taehyung answered and raised his hand to Jungkook's cheek, caressing it softly. "You look really cute when you first wake up" he complimented, not even realizing he said it out loud.
Jungkook blushed brightly and covered his face with his hands. He laid back down and rolled over, not looking at Taehyung. The elder was confused at first why Jungkook suddenly got so shy, but then he realized that he'd said the younger looked cute aloud. But then, Taehyung got a small idea.
"Awe don't be shy. You're literally the cutest person ever" Tae gushed to the younger. He rolled over and sat up behind Jungkook. "Come on Kookie, don't get all flustered at such a small compliment. If that's the case, then you'll never be able to actually be around me all the time, cause I compliment people all the time, and I can't have you running away from me if I tell you that you're cute" The elder stated. While he was talking, he snuggled up against the back of Jungkook, leaning his head on the younger's arm, and wrapping one of his arms around Jungkook's torso, softly rubbing his toned stomach. He took notice to the fact that Yoongi wasn't in bed, or in their room at all, so he took the chance to tease Jungkook some.
The younger didn't even reply, he just held his face with his hands. He wasn't truly hiding his embarrassment at this point. Tae was rubbing his hand on his stomach, dangerously close to his crotch, and he was just trying to calm himself.
"Awe, come on Kook, you're no fun" Tae pouted and pinched Jungkook on the butt. He sat up completely and started to get out of Jungkook's bed.
Jungkook removed his hands from his face and sat up quickly. He looked down at his hands and his eyes widened.
"What the-"
"OH MY FUCK YOU'RE BLEEDING" Taehyung screamed and quickly jumped off of the bed to run to the bathroom go grab a roll of toilet paper.
Jungkook was so confused to where the blood was coming from. But not even 10 seconds later Taehyung had already jumped on top of him, trying to stop the bleeding.
"Tae, I'm fine. It's just a nose bleed" Jungkook reassured the elder. He rubbed Tae's thigh trying to let him know he really was fine.
"I've never seen so much blood coming from someone's nose before. Does this happen a lot?" Tae asked as he took some more toilet paper and held it to Jungkook's nose.
"Not really, this was the first time" Jungkook said with a shrug.
"You scared me" the elder said with a sigh. Taehyung sat back on Jungkook's thighs, straddling him, with Jungkook sitting upright as his back is pressed up against the wall.
"It's just a bit of blood, nothing I haven't dealt with before" Jungkook responded with a chuckle. His voice was different, due to him pinching his nose with the toilet paper.
"Yeah but it's scary. The last time I saw so much blood, some kid in shop class almost cut off his hand" Tae pouted slightly.
"Well don't worry, it's just a nosebleed. And I won't be cutting my hand off with a table saw anytime soon" Jungkook said with a chuckle. He moved his free hand to Taehyung's thigh and rubbed circles on it with his thumb softly.
"Just be careful. Seeing people I care about bleeding freaks me out" the elder said and shuddered slightly at the thought.
"Awe you care about me" Jungkook teased.
"You should feel special, cause I don't genuinely care about a lot of people" Taehyung scoffed jokingly.
"I feel extremely special. In fact, I feel quite lucky" Jungkook smirked.
"And why's that" the elder questioned.
"Because you're in my life" the younger stated with a smile. A light blush started rising on his cheeks.
"Yeah I'm sure that's why" Tae said and rolled his eyes.
"I'm serious. I haven't been this happy in years" Jungkook said with a slight frown.
"I can't possibly be the only source of your happiness" Taehyung whispered and pouted.
"You can believe that, but I can assure you, that I'm not lying. After high school, my friends all went their separate ways, and left me behind. I only live on campus because it's too lonely at my house" Jungkook stated and shrugged.
"You live near here?" The elder asked.
"Mmhmm, like 20 minutes" Jungkook nodded.
"Now I wanna see your house" Taehyung pouted.
"Maybe sometime" Jungkook chuckled. "But you should probably get ready for class soon, I don't want you to be late."
"Don't you have class today too?" Tae asked and motioned for Jungkook to take off the toilet paper from his nose.
"Nah, my professor canceled class last night. He emailed us about the time when we got back last night" the younger explained as he took the toilet paper from his nose and handed it to Taehyung.
"Lucky, I still have class" the elder huffed and wrapped all of the bloody paper together and got off of Jungkook's lap. He threw it into the trash can sitting by Yoongi's desk.
"Well, I'll pick you up after class so we can get stuff to bake tonight" Jungkook stated and stood up.
"Sounds good" Tae agreed and nodded with a smile. He picked up his phone from Jungkook's bed and put it into his pocket.
"Jest text me when your class is over and I'll come" Jungkook said as he stretched his arms.
"I will" Tae nodded. "I'll see you later Bun" he said and gave Jungkook a quick hug before leaving to go to his dorm to get ready for class.
...
"Alright everyone!" Miss Son exclaimed, getting the class's attention. "There will be a new assignment that we will go over the criteria for today."
Taehyung's attention was on Miss Son as she excitedly got ready to tell the class what their new project will be.
"You will be painting a recreation of a famous piece of art. You may chose what you will paint, but, of course it's never that easy" she said with a small chuckle. Other students rolled their eyes or huffed at the statement, but Tae was always excited for the twists Miss Son added to their assignments. "The piece will need your own personal twist. You must add something of your own to the project, or you won't receive full credit for your work."
She continued to talk and give examples for ideas to paint and things of such.
"Miss Son?" A boy by the name of Hyunjin asked.
"Yes Hyunjin?"
"What is the criteria for what we're painting on? Canvas? Glass? Plates or bowls?" He questioned. Taehyung raised his eyebrow at the question, but all in all, nodded, only because the thought of painting on something other than a canvas, never even crossed his mind.
"Actually, that's a great question!" The female paused "you are not allowed to paint on canvas. You must create your painting on anything BUT a material canvas" she stated with a devilish smile.
"Miss Son, does that mean we can paint on clothing?" Another student asked.
"Yes, you may. Like I said, nothing on canvas!" She said with a smile. "Now, we still have a half an hour left in class, so you may use your phones or laptops to start researching ideas on what you may want to do. If you have any questions, feel free to ask me!" Miss Son stated as she sat down at her large desk.
"Miss Son?" Taehyung asked and raised his hand.
"Yes, Taehyung? How may I assist you?" His teacher asked.
"Oh, um, I was actually just wondering when this is due" he stated and Miss Son's eyes widened.
"How could I forget!" She almost shrieked "this assignment will be due on this Friday, so if I were you, don't slack off."
"Well great, just what I want" Mina huffed from in front of Taehyung.
"MiMi, what's wrong?" Taehyung asked with a small chuckle.
"I'm not good at copying other people's art. And it just feels wrong to me. That's called plagiarism, and it's illegal" she said with a sigh.
"Well, She said to put your own personal spin on it. I'm sure you can find a piece and make it in your own art style" the male suggested.
"Actually... that's not half bad" Mina nodded her head in satisfaction "thanks babe" she said and blew a kiss to Taehyung.
"No problem" Tae said with a small giggle.
After their little chat, Taehyung immediately pulled out his laptop, looking for ideas to paint, and thinking of things to paint on. He figured getting a large pice of glass would be too dangerous, and painting on a plate would be too basic.
As Taehyung was left in his thoughts, along with his headphones on, he hadn't noticed that the class had been dismissed several minutes ago. He had been so focused on writing down notes and trying to come up with the most unique idea for his project.
"Tae?" Miss Son called an tapped on her male students shoulder. Taehyung jumped slightly at the contact.
"Miss Son? You scared me" he said with a small laugh. "What's up?"
"Well... class was dismissed ten minutes ago, and you're still here. I don't mind it, but I didn't think you realized."
Taehyung looked around, and then at the time.
"Woah, I had no clue. Thanks for letting me know, I'm supposed to meet up with my one friend after class" he said with a chuckle.
"Is it that boy you ran out of class one day to meet up with? What's his name... Jeon Jungkook?" His teacher questioned slightly.
"Yeah, that's him. We're baking cookies tonight, so I'll make sure to bring you some!" He said with a bright smile as he started to pack away his things.
"Oh, sounds great! The ones you made last time were amazing" she said with a bright smile.
"Awe thank you, I'm glad you like them!" Tae thanked with a large smile. The conversation ended on that, and Miss Son let Taehyung pack his things to meet up with Jungkook.
*texting convo*
Taehyung: hey bunny, my class is over
Kookie💜: cool, I'll be there in 5
Taehyung: ok😊
Kookie💜: see ya soon doll 😘
*reality*
Taehyung smiled as he slipped his phone back into his bag. He sat on a bench outside of the building and enjoyed the beauty of his campus as he waited for the younger to arrive.
Almost exactly 5 minutes later Tae could hear Jungkook's motorcycle around the corner. He smiled to himself as he stood up from the bench. As he walked closer to the street, he could now see Jungkook coming towards him. Tae patiently waited at the sidewalk for Jungkook to go pull over for him to hop on.
Jungkook slowed down as he reached Tae, and parked right in front of the male. He slipped off his helmet and smiled at the elder.
"Ready?" Jungkook asked.
"Yup!" Tae answered happily and opened the side compartment to pull out his helmet. As he slipped it on, Jungkook put his helmet.
"Need to stop at the dorms quick?" The younger asked.
"Yeah, that would be great" Tae answered and nodded his head.
"Alright, hop on then" Jungkook chuckled.
Tae slipped onto the seat behind Jungkook, and didn't hesitate to wrap his arms around the younger's built frame. When Jungkook felt Taehyung stop moving, he quickly took off.
...
"Do you have everything?" Jungkook asked as he went into Tae's dorm. All he needed was his hoodie, so while Taehyung went to get his things together, he went to his room for his things.
"I think so" the elder answered and checked his bag. "Yeah, I have everything" double checking that he had his wallet, phone, and the key to the room.
"So we just have to go to the store to get the things we need, right?" Jungkook asked as he walked out of the dorm room.
"Mmhmm. I just went to the one corner store last time. They had everything I needed" Tae said as he left the room, locking the door with his room key.
...
"Jungkook! Stop it!" He yelled and smacked the younger's hand, which was in the bowl of cookie dough. "We aren't gonna have any cookies if you keep eating the dough" he scolded.
"But they're my cookies though" Jungkook said with a small pout.
"Don't you have to go to work?" The elder asked, changing the topic.
"Not until later" the younger said as he licked his finger free of the raw cookie dough that had just been mixed.
"How old were you when you started tattooing?" Tae asked as he started scooping little piles of cookie dough.
"It wasn't much later after mom died" Jungkook said in thought. "I was maybe 15? I don't really remember" he said with a shrug. "I learned everything from Namjoon. He's even the one who did my first one. He took me in as his own after what happened. And I really appreciate it, because I really look up to him" Jungkook sighed.
"That was super nice of him. He seems like a very philosophical guy" he said as he put one tray into the oven. "And I only talked to him once."
"Yeah, he's super awesome. I can go to him about anything, and he'll tell me what he honestly thinks" Jungkook said with a nod.
"That's great, I'm happy that he was there for you when you needed him" Tae said as he started scooping more dough onto the tray.
"He's like my big brother. I woulda went nuts without his guidance" Jungkook said with a small chuckle.
"I'll have to thank him the next time I see him" Taehyung smiled.
The two continued talking while Tae finished up the cookies. And of course not without Jungkook trying to sneak more cookie dough.
"So, any new things in class?" Jungkook asked as he jumped onto the counter right beside where Taehyung was scraping the sides of the mixing bowl.
"Yeah, I actually got a new assignment today. It's a painting project" the elder said as he tried to clean the sides of the mixing bowl. "I was gonna ask you if you could help me come up with ideas."
"I can try" the younger said with a shrug of his shoulders. "What's the project?"
"Well I have to recreate a famous piece of art, and I have to put my own twist into it" Taehyung sighed as he held up the spatula towards Jungkook's face. There was cookie dough all over the utensil.
Jungkook's eyes lit up and smiled brightly as he took the spatula from Tae's hand.
"What were you thinking?" The younger asked as he licked the cookie dough.
"I was thinking the Great Wave of Kanagawa, mostly because it's one of my favorite pieces" the elder stated while he moved a couple bowls to the sink.
"Hmmm, ok" Jungkook nodded and continued to lick the cookie dough. "Is that it?"
"Sadly no" Tae sighed. "It can't be on canvas and I have absolutely no clue what to paint on. I don't wanna do something basic, and I don't wanna do something dangerous" the elder said with a small frown.
"Then paint on a body"
"What the fuck" Taehyung stopped what he was doing and looked at Jungkook, who was mid lick on the spatula.
"What?" the younger asked.
"Did you just say paint on a body?" Taehyung questioned and raised his eyebrow.
"Yeah" Jungkook nodded. "Like those trends on Instagram where people paint on their legs, or on someone's back. Just do something like that."
"How am I supposed to do that? The project is due this Friday, and there's absolutely no way I can paint on someone throughout the week. And then I need someone who can make it to my class or be willing to pull an all nighter so I can paint on them for the class" Taehyung rambled.
"Well here, I'll tell you this" Jungkook started "I'm willing to help you out. I can tell my teacher I need to help a friend out for their class. I'm sure he won't mind" the younger said with a smile. "We can pull an all nighter and hang out and stuff. Simple."
"You're willing to help me?!" Taehyung asked in utter disbelief.
"Of course. We get to spend quality time together, and I get to skip class. Boom" Jungkook smiled.
"You're the best" Taehyung whined slightly and jumped up and down a little bit.
"Eh, I try" Jungkook shrugged.
The two joked around for about another hour until everything was clean and put away. They had about four plates piled with cookies, which was surprising to Taehyung, due to how much cookie dough Jungkook ate.
"You ready to go Kook?" The elder asked as he put saurian wrap over the cookies.
"Yup" The younger answered with a smile.
"I just have to drop a plate off in my classroom, and we can head back to the dorms" Taehyung stayed and headed towards the door. He walked to his classroom and opened the door. He simply set the plate on his teacher's desk, and left the room again.
Tae went back to the home economics room, and smiled when he saw that Jungkook was holding his bag and the rest of the cookies.
"I've got everything" Jungkook said with a smile and walked towards Taehyung.
"I can carry my bag" Tae offered.
"It's alright, I've got it" The younger said with a chuckle as his held the door for Tae to walk through.
"You're too sweet" Tae giggle and left the room.
Taehyung and Jungkook made their way out of the building and to Jungkook's motorcycle. Jungkook put the cookies away and handed Tae his bag. But when he looked at Taehyung, he could see the goosebumps on the elders arms.
"Tae, are you cold?" He asked.
"No, I'm fine" the elder denied and shook his head.
"No you're not" Jungkook said with a chuckle. "Take this" He said and took the his hoodie off and handed it to the elder.
"Kookie, I'm fine. I don't want you to be cold" Tae said and shook his head.
"I'll be absolutely fine" Jungkook said with a chuckle. "But I can't have you being cold. My princess doesn't deserve that" the younger said with a cocky smile.
"Jungkook! Stop, we are in public" the elder scolded and blushed furiously. He snatched the hoodie from the younger and put it on. "Now shut up, and let's go."
Jungkook only snickered and put his helmet on. He sat down and started the engine on his bike. When he felt Taehyung sit behind him, and the elder wrapped his arms around him, he started to drive back to the dorms.
...
"Thanks for making me cookies" Jungkook said with a smile as they walked down the hallway.
"No problem, it's been a while since I baked anything" Taehyung said with a chuckle.
"So I guess I'll see you on Thursday night" Jungkook stated as they stopped at Taehyung's dorm room.
"Yup! We can go to the store and get some snacks and stuff for the night before we start. Wear comfortable clothing, like sweatpants" Taehyung instructed.
"Will do" Jungkook nodded. "Have a good night, baby doll" he said and leaned down to place a small kiss on Taehyung's cheek.
He started to walk away but Taehyung stopped him.
"Wait, here's your hoodie" the elder said and sat his bag down. He started to take the hoodie off, Jungkook stopped him.
"Just keep it, it looks nice on you" the younger said and winked and walked to his room, leaving Taehyung completely frozen.
"He is so unreal" Taehyung blushed and shook his head. He unlocked his dorm and went inside, only to throw his things onto the floor and jump into bed. He snuggled into the blankets and clutched his stuffed bear.
His thoughts and feelings clouded his mind, it was almost becoming too much. He's said his feelings for Jungkook before, but just the thought of the younger leaving like other people in his life, scared him.
He was scared to be loved again.
