Chapter 50: Answers.

Jungkook:

Before Jimin can say a word I all of a sudden I see a girl skipping our way, holding two candy flosses in each hand. She wears a pale blue dress and sandals, perfectly suited for the fairground theme park scene. Why was she coming up to us? Does she work here or something?

As she approaches, I can see her more clearly. She has long, dark blonde hair and blue eyes - she must be foreign. To my surprise, she begins talking to us in Korean.

'I got the candy floss you wanted, the line was so long sorry!' She says, slightly out of breath. She hands a candy floss to Jin.

I'm so confused, who is this girl?!

'Oh, thanks,' Jin replies. 'Um sorry guys, you must be wondering who this is - uh this is my girlfriend Erin.' He explains slightly awkwardly after what I had just accused him and Jimin of.

GIRLFRIEND?!

I don't think I've ever been so relieved whilst at the same time being so embarrassed in my life. So him and Jimin...? Ah...I may have been a little quick to jump to conclusions.

'Her and her friend Olivia have moved here from England to study as part of their university course. Cool right? In fact we're meeting her friend here soon.' He explains, trying to break the tension.

I blush furiously. I've humiliated myself, getting jealous over Jimin and Jin when Jin has a GIRLFRIEND. Ugh well done Jungkook. Jimin looks at me as though to say 'you see?'

Erin goes to greet Jimin: 'Hi Jimin! Jin has told me a lot about you!' She reaches out for his hand to shake.

'Uh yeah, likewise, I've heard about you from Jin, he really likes you haha!' Jimin tells her, causing Jin's face to flush a prominent shade of red as his girlfriend smiles at Jimin's comment. Whilst all the happy greetings are going on however, I stand there wishing the ground would swallow me whole. Before I crumble from my embarrassment, Erin turns to me.

'Jin, who is this, I don't think you mentioned this friend.' She asks her boyfriend.

'This is Jungkook, he's Jimin's...um-' he looks just as confused as I was. What was I to Jimin? Not what I used to be - what am I to him NOW? Before Jin can finish his sentence, another girl interrupts our circle. She was slightly shorter than Erin, and unlike her had brown eyes accompanied by dark brown hair tied back with a small red bow.

'Liv!' Erin hugs the girl and introduces  her to us all.

'Hi Jin, hi everyone!' Olivia says enthusiastically.

'Have you seen the new ride here? It looks amazing! Can we all go - pleaaaaassseee?' Erin pleads, tugging lightly at Jin's arm. He rolls his eyes slightly before smiling. 'Let's go then.' He says as the group begins to follow him.

'You guys do that, I'll be introducing myself to the food stalls - you won't see me on those kind of rides unless I have a death wish.' Olivia states before waving us goodbye.

As much as I liked the fair, I was not here for the rides. It seemed as though Jimin was putting off seeing me even more than before - making it even more awkward. No more games, I had to get what I came for...answers.

I purposely slow down to let Jin and Erin overtake. Once they were slightly further ahead, I stop suddenly, outstretching my arm across Jimin's chest, making him come to a sudden halt, almost tripping over his own feet.

Jimin:

I let out a deep sigh, and turn my face away, trying not to make eye contact. As if this whole situation wasn't awkward enough. I stand there for a moment next to him as he lets his arm fall away from my chest. I don't know what to say, I've been trying to avoid this talk as much as I can. But I know I can't avoid it any longer. It wasn't fair to Jungkook. I knew I had to give him the answers he needed.

'Well?' He says breaking the silence.
I bite my lip and swallow.

'C...Can we go somewhere more private? I swear I'll tell you everything you want to know...'
I tell him, still unable to bring myself to look into his eyes. Without responding, he begins to walk off to the direction of the pier. I follow behind like a child who was about to get scolded.

We walk along until there's no one else around, just me, and him, and the sea surrounding us. Jungkook slows to a stop and turns around to face me. For the first time that day, I lift my eyes to meet his. I almost cry right then and there, a wave of emotion hitting me as soon as I see his face. He's just as beautiful as I remember him. The strong sea breeze blows through his hair and his shirt, as his brown doe like eyes continue to stare at me.

'Is this private enough for you?' He asks, snapping me out of it. His words are laced with anger.

Please forgive me. I didn't mean to hurt you this bad...

'So,' Jungkook begins. 'where to start? Shall we start at the point where you just disappeared into thin air? Shall we start at the point where I was so worried about you I couldn't eat, sleep or even think straight anymore? Or how about the part where you didn't answer any of my texts? Or how when I showed up to find you, you were no where to be found - again!'

His words hit me as though they had been said with his fist. I shuffle my feet about nervously, eyes glued once again to the old wood of the pier beneath me. The crashing of the waves against the rocks below is the only sound between us.

'Jungkook...' I manage to mumble, trying to hold back tears. 'I'll tell you everything. I don't wan't to hurt you anymore.'

Jungkook:

A single tear drops from his face, slipping through the gaps in the planks below.

'Oh and Jungkook...' I tilt my head, awaiting what he was going to say.

'...I've missed you.'
