Chapter 4: Flower Boy.
Jungkook:
I arrive home in a good mood. Today wasn't as disastrous as I thought it would be. In fact, it was far from disastrous. I walk through the door and shut it behind me, smile plastered on my face. I place my bag down by the door, and find my mum and dad in the living room.
'Ahh Kookie!' My mum stands up and rushes to me quickly, holding my face between her soft hands.
'How was your first day? Did you see Taehyung? Did you make friends?' She quizzes me as though
I was a kid home from his first day of school ever.
'You're smothering him again.' My dad tells my mum, whilst flicking through his newspaper. She responds by throwing a cushion in his direction.
I laugh at their playfulness.
'It was good Mum. I think I'm going to like it here.' I assure her.
'I'm glad,' she says. 'Oh and Jungkook, I need you to plant these please.' She brings out a few flower pots from behind the kitchen counter. Three pots of pink flowers,
her favourite pink camellia flowers. 'Outside the front of the house.'
'Muuuuum...' I groan. I hate gardening, but she always makes me do it. She tuts as me multiple times before handing me the flower pots anyway.
I take them outside, one by one, kicking the door closed after I brought the last one out as well as a trowel. Ugh, stupid flowers. Plant yourself,
I have homework to do. I begin to dig at the ground, mumbling curses to myself. Hm. To be fair, these flowers are really pretty, bright yellow anthers sprouting from the middle. I pick one of the flowers, and slide it into my hair just behind my ear.
Jimin:
I hear Yoongi call my name through my bedroom window from the street below. I stumble down the stairs, grabbing a jacket along the way.
'Dad I'm going out.' I call.
No response - perhaps he's sleeping.
I walk out the door and shut it behind me.
'Took you long enough.' Yoongi greets me, bike held against his side. He's brought the rest of the gang, Hobi and Namjoon tracing circles behind him on their bikes. I grab mine, and walk alongside Yoongi as Hobi and Namjoon race ahead.
'So JB called.' Yoongi begins, referring to our friend from the neighbouring town. Him and his gang help us out sometimes when we need it. 'He tells me Jaehyo from Block B was seen around here. I don't know what they think they're doing but whatever it is it's not gonna be good for them.'
Block B is our rival gang, from the neighbourhood next to ours. Dumb name I know. The name comes from the flats that majority of them live in back in their neighbourhood - Flat Block B. They live in a run down area, the place notorious for gang violence. We have a mutual agreement not to cross into each other's areas, but every now and then someone has to be reminded of the rules. And this time someone was caught in our territory...
'So what's the plan?' I ask Yoongi.
'We're gonna look for the bastard now. And if we find him then...'
I get the message, and we climb onto our bikes and head off.

After a while of looking, we turn into the next street, cycling down the road.
I look around me. We're on the snob side of the neighbourhood now. The end for all the richer people in the neighbourhood. I spit on the ground. As we cycle down, I see a guy outside his house. Hair dyed cherry pink at the tips. The new guy? Ha. No way. I look over at Namjoon, who's also seen him and we exchange a smirk and cycle over to him.
Jungkook:
I wipe the sweat from my brow and stand up to admire my work. Out of no where, I hear the clicking of bike wheels as they turn - it sounds like more than one actually.
I look over to see four guys cycle over to me, legs outstretched and standing tall on their bikes. I recognise them instantly, remembering Sena pointing them out me to me earlier, and from art class. What do they want?
'Hey hey hey, new guy.' Yoongi calls out. 'I don't think we've been introduced.' Namjoon and Hobi circle their bikes around in the back.
I couldn't help but feel as though they were the sharks, and I was the prey.
I stay quiet, not knowing how to respond.
'Why do you dress like that?' Jimin asks suddenly. I don't know whether to be offended or giddy that he just spoke to me. I just stand there in shock.
Do I retort back? Do I play along and be nice?
'I...I-' I begin before Yoongi interrupts me, laughing.
'Yeah, why DO you dress like that? You're wearing eyeliner and everything. What are you - some sort of pretty boy?' I look around at Hobi and Namjoon laughing in the background. Jimin however hasn't stopped staring at me since he pulled up here. It was making me feel uneasy.
'Ha, cool, you even have the flower and everything.' Jimin says, leaning forward and swiping a finger at the flower in my hair. Shit, I forgot I left it in. I bat his hand away lightly, leading to more uproar from Hobi and Namjoon. Jimin takes a step back.
'Damn Flower Boy I was only making an observation.' He says.
'Flower Boy...' Yoongi repeats. 'Ha, I like it. A legendary name has been born - Flower Boy.' He laughs. 'C'mon guys, we don't have time to waste here.' He cycles off, trampling one of the flowers with his bike wheel. Namjoon and Hobi follow along.
Me and Jimin are left there in awkward silence. Did that really just happen? Great. Now they know where I live. Jimin swings his leg back over his back and begins to cycle off.
'See ya around Flower Boy.'
He leaves me there, speechless.
Ugh, just as I thought my school life was going to go smoothly. It's the first day and I've already earned myself a nickname from the neighbourhood gang. Fantastic.
My mum comes out of the house to see if her precious flowers were being treated well.
'Jeon Jungkook!' She screams, looking down in horror at the trampled flower. 'Is your head on backwards?! How can you trample it - planting flowers isn't rocket science you clumsy-' she starts hitting me.
'Mum Mum Mum! I'll replace it okay?!' I tell her, arms raised to shield myself, trying to calm her down.
'Honestly.' She tuts, giving me her coldest glare as she returns back inside. I laugh to myself. No matter how angry she got she always looked adorable.
My cute mum.
I look back round in the direction that Yoongi, Jimin, Hobi and Namjoon had cycled. What does a gang DO exactly?
I thought this neighbourhood was meant to be safe anyway. Do they just cycle round looking tough and traumatising the local residents like me?
I try to carry on with what I was doing but the curiosity kept bugging me. Maybe if I could just...see where they went. I mean what could they really do? Come back and trample the other flowers?
I put down the trowel and take off my gardening gloves. I leave them there, and head in the direction I saw them leave.
What's the worst that could happen?
