When the boys had arrived at the hospital, Lily was taken from them immediately. Jongho was also taken to a room to be examined, but the wound had stopped bleeding by the time they got inside. He still hadn't woken up.

They hated the familiar feeling of waiting.

Yunho snarled at anyone who tried to touch him or talk to him. His shirt was soaked in Lily's blood, but he didn't care. He kept his eyes locked on the doors to the emergency room.

San and Yeosang sat together, the younger comforting his friend. Yeosang was so pale, San was worried he might pass out and any second, and he saw his eyes keep flicking to where his own gun shot wound was.

Seonghwa was crying into Mingi's chest and Mingi was doing his best to not cry. He blamed himself for getting Lily shot, but he knew the other was blaming himself for what they all knew was going to happen.

Hongjoong was doing his best to try and warn the nurses of what was coming, but none of them believed him.

No one was winning tonight.

And faster than they would have liked, Lily's father walked in.

The place turned cold as he made his way to the nurse's station. "Where is my daughter? She was just brought in. Her name is Lily."

The lady behind the desk checked her computer. "She's in surgery, Sir. I'm so sorry. Those boys over there brought her in, they were with her when it happened."

He turned around and snarled. His eyes found Yunho and hissed at his blood-soaked shirt. "What did you do to her."

"We saved her, that's what we did." Yunho stood, clenching his fists. "It was your man who shot her."

"I don't know what you're talking about."

"Yes, you do, don't lie you bastard. You know exactly what happened tonight. Your men sent the rest of the police home and threatened to shoot us if she didn't leave with them." Yunho's voice raised.

The nurses looked between the two men, not believing what they were hearing.

"She sacrificed herself to protect us!" Yunho roared. "So, you better believe that we aren't letting her leave with you, you son of a bitch!"

Several of the hospital workers moved to keep the two men apart.

"Gentlemen! If you don't stop, we will have to remove you from the building." A security officer said, grabbing Yunho's shoulder.

"No! You should be throwing him out! You have no idea what he will do to her if she makes it through surgery! He will torture her! If you don't believe me, have them check the inside of her right leg. There is a brand there that he put on her!" Yunho cried out, fighting against the hands holding him.

His friends ran over, trying to calm the tallest down, but he kept shouting and cursing at Lily's father.

The man just stood there, sneering when no one was watching him.

"You seem to be confused, son. YOU'RE the one who put that brand there after you kidnapped her from me! She told me all about it before you took her again." He turned to the security officer. "Sir, these boys had kidnapped and raped my daughter. She came home to tell me about it, but they grabbed her on her way to campus. From the sounds of it, they are probably the ones who shot her."

"NO!" All the boys yelled at once, astounded that this man's silver tongue could spew such lies.

After much struggling, the staff forced all the boys outside and told them not to come back in.

They stood out there, dumbfounded at how the tables had turned against them.

Then things got even worse.

A familiar limo pulled up and Wooyoung's father stepped out, dragging his son with him.

"Is she inside?"

When he got no answer he laughed, shoved his son to the ground, and entered the hospital.

San rushed forward to help his friend up and winced when he saw the cut on his arm.

"Where is Lily? What happened?" Wooyoung said, looking between all his friends.

"Ask. Him." Yunho said, whipping his arm out to point harshly at Seonghwa.

The eldest fell to his knees. "Youngie, I... I didn't know what to do... I heard you screaming and... Youngie..."

"She's inside." Hongjoong said quietly, placing a hand on the eldest's shoulder. "With him."

After he was filled in on what had happened, Wooyoung screamed in anguish and fell into San's arms.

"Get some men back to that house and make sure everything is spotless. If it really was my men that shot her, something could have happened to them. We are going to be walking on eggshells when trying to get her out of here."

"Don't worry. There's no way they will believe them over you. You are her father, legally they have to release her to you over them."

"They had better."

"Sir? Your daughter is in the recovery room. She is out of critical condition."

"Thank you, nurse, please let me know when I can go see her."

---

"Thank you, Sir." Hongjoong said, ending the call. He signed and ran a hand through his hair. They had a lot of cleaning up to do...

The boys had made their way back home when the security guard threatened to have them arrested for loitering.

He had made the executive decision to call their manager and fill him in on everything that happened. He wasn't happy, but he said he would go check on Jongho and do his best to figure out what to do. Until then, they were essentially under house arrest.

Hongjoong made his way back to his friends. He could feel the tension in the air.

Wooyoung looked lifeless as he laid in San's lap. Yeosang sat on the floor in front of them, leaning into the couch so he could hold the younger's hand. San stroked his hair gently.

Mingi was still comforting Seonghwa. They had tried telling him that he was not at fault for any of this. He made a split-second decision under extreme circumstances. Wooyoung had even told him that he wasn't upset with him, and he was grateful to be back with his real family.

Yunho was another story though. He refused to look at or speak to Seonghwa.

Hongjoong knew it was just the built-up tension, but he prayed this didn't affect things for their friendship in the future. If they even had a future after this.

After a few hours, their front door opened and Jongho walked in slowly, still weak. Their manager followed him and closed the door.

The look on his face told them that he wasn't happy.

Hongjoong ran to get Yunho and they sat together, waiting for their boss to speak.

He let out a long sigh, and let his head fall back. "I don't even know what to say right now. The one thing I will say, is I'm not upset with you. I know you aren't to blame for what happened tonight. It sounds like it was a premeditated ambush, and based on what you've told me about Lily, it..." he huffed. "I will do my best to keep this out of the press. It doesn't seem like anyone recognized you at the hospital, which is a blessing. But." He said, his tone getting harsh. "You boys have to think about what is more important to you. If this girl is going to cause problems like this in the future, then maybe it's best for us to leave things alone. I can't afford, and don't want, any of you getting hurt. Jongho had a lucky break tonight, but-"

"With all do respect, Sir," Mingi stood up, surprising everyone, "But we can't just 'leave things alone'. She is part of our family, and the only reason I am here right now is because she protected me. I will not abandon her; we won't abandon her. If that means we must sacrifice what we built, then... I accept that." He looked at his friends. "Some things are more important than fame."

"You're really willing to give it all up. You're dream? You're willing to just toss it aside, all for some girl?"

"She's not just some girl." Wooyoung said weakly.

"She's our spark." Jongho said, holding his head high. "She is what drives us to do better. We are nothing without her, and we won't abandon her."
