There's water

Water above my head
Under my head
Miles deep

There's darkness

Darkness everywhere
Except a little glimpse above me
Hiding the surface of life beyond

There's pressure

On my whole body
In my head
In my mind
Filling my lungs

There's a cage

On my chest
Around my life
I'm trapped
In someone I'm not

There's this body

This strange body
For someone with confidence
Who doesn't know about drowning

There's water

In my mind
Trying to drown me and my thoughts
Because that body isn't me
That mind isn't me
But still
I am
Drowning
In them
