015 BETRAYAL
'sometimes people are beautiful. not in looks. not in what they say. just in what they are.'

"Zelda! come here."
Zelda rushes from her desk, slamming her notebook down before running to her boss- Nora's office with terror. she knows my name? why is she calling me?
"yes ma'am?"
"call me Nora- how many times." she mumbles, not looking up from the pile of papers in her hand. when the silence fills the space filled room, Nora looks up and her eyes meet with Zelda's- an employee of hers that she has a soft spot for, one who's work she admires and wishes was more daring. "you're friends with Taehyung right? can you go get him? he's late." she shakes her head.
Zelda's eyes widen slightly- Taehyung's late? he's never late which is why she nods, grabs her phone and rushes out of the building- attempting to send a text message saying- i'm on my way to yours, wake up! to her only long term friend and walking at the same time.
she makes her way to his apartment on the fourth floor and after five minutes, Zelda stands in front of his door- hesitant to knock since the chance of seeing Talulah makes her jittery.
that's when she hears two voices- male and female. "don't open the door. i'm not even dressed lula!" and the reply is, "put some fucking clothes on then." and Zelda tries not to laugh like a loser.
oi language- Taehyung tells his girl off and Zelda can imagine him shaking his head, his mop of hair bouncing.
and that's when Talulah opens the door, catching Zelda by surprise. it swings open so suddenly that it makes her jump, eyes wide at the appealing girl.
try not to be awkward- Zelda tells herself and greets Talulah.
"hi hey! greetings to you ... Talulah, Taehyung's girlfriend. hi how are you?" Zelda talks too much but Talulah takes the compliment, calling out to Taehyung and saying- look even Zelda thinks i'm a good girlfriend, isn't she the best girl ever oh my god-
"Zelda! what a nice surprise." Talulah let's her into the apartment after giving her a hug that makes her day. "i hope you weren't standing outside for too long, my hearing is terrible-"
"it's okay. don't worry." Zelda smiles, loving how the apartment resembles her two friends- the silly, loving and obsessed with each other couple. polaroids, a vintage record player, pictures of them and their friends stuck on the fridge, laundry on the floor, a belt on the couch and filthy socks in front of her. "how are you?" Zelda asks and feels glad anyway.
"i'm great you know." Talulah hums, genuinely delighted to talk to her- they should see each other more. "i've been thinking about you, we should hang out so we can bitch about Tae-"
then Taehyung walks into the living room, a towel drying his hair. Zelda!- he beams and the smile on his face makes her smile back at her lovely friend. she remembers how he once told her he loves saying her name, it's uniqueness is nice on his tongue is what he mentioned. "why are you here? don't you have work?"
yeah leaves Zelda's mouth as he raises his brows. "and you have work too, that's why i'm here." she tells him, not surprised by his expression.
he's muddled. furrowed brows and an o shaped mouth is what she sees as he stops drying his hair. "what? today's my day off." he justifies himself.
"no it's not." Zelda laughs. "Nora sent me to bring you to work."
Taehyung's eyes widen so wide that it makes both Talulah and Zelda crack up as they share eye contact. "Nora? oh my... i'm screwed-"

Zelda huffs, staring at her cup of tea that sits on the table as she sits beside Jin, ready to talk about what's on her mind and he's ready to listen.
Zelda looks ahead, focusing on a patch of grass, not realising how serene the climate around them is. it's evening, the sun is setting and everyone is either working, busy with short errands or Friday night plans. she's indebted that Jin made time to talk to her, her plans on a Friday night are non existent and she feels even more grateful knowing that he's her good friend and her Friday night plan.
"i met Elianna." Zelda starts, the woman appearing in her thoughts and the imagery is clear as daylight. "the famous, fierce woman who got her heart broken." she sighs and drinks her tea.
"she didn't have to tell me." she continues, referring to Elianna's busted heart and her loss of hope. "i could tell from her physical state that she's heartbroken." and it saddens Zelda to see her that way- wearied eyes not due to the lack of sleep but because of life, nervous actions such as, scratching the back of her neck and walking fast, gulping harshly when talking about love and losing concentration, drifting into her own bubble that still hurts.
"i know what you mean." Jin sighs. "it's that sad huh?"
Zelda nods, embracing the night sky as she looks up, still seeing a picture of Elianna in her mind. she's still someone she'd love to be friends with. "give her a hug from me next time will you? but i'm sure you know... it really is that sad."
"i do, everyone does." Jin sits up in his chair, bringing the sides of his jacket together as he feels a rush of wind. "but what can we do? it's not her fault. no one ever asks to get their heart broken."
"are you saying it's Jungkook's fault then?"
Jin shrugs, not knowing a certain answer for the difficult question. "partially yeah but then again, what can i do? i can't pick sides, they're both people i love. i just have to be there for both of them and let them decide their own life."
Zelda nods in understanding. Jin's right, he's making the right decisions.
then he mumbles under his breath. "but i can blame the person who pushed Jungkook to do it, am i right?" Zelda remembers how shocked she felt when finding out it was Yoongi who broke the lovers apart.
yet Zelda has an open mind and heart. "i don't know about that because everyone has their reasons." there's always two sides to a bad story.
"there's just something about what Elianna and Jungkook had. maybe they'll cross paths again?" Zelda finishes her tea, ignoring how it turned cold and there's hope in her warm tone.
"you're very strange Zelda."
"why?"
Jin smiles, looking away and scoffs. "you have so much softness and positivity that it makes me sick."
Zelda stays quiet.
Jin talks again, running a hand through his murky hair, tucking it under the leather cap he places on his head. "i need that in my life, everyone does."
"but yeah maybe." Jin refers to the departed lovers crossing paths again- Zelda's desire for their future. "but that's if Elianna ever gets past her hatred for Jungkook." he scoffs again.
"i don't blame her though."
"me neither but people do stupid things, make stupid mistakes." Jin's words rush out of his mouth. "people are human. we all fall in love and then something just has to go wrong doesn't it?"
Jin thinks about his detached friends. he knows they belong together but there's a part of him that believes they're better off without each other. "he's waiting for her to come back and she hates him. it's a troubling mess." he pats his thighs and feels slightly irritated.
"just like every love story."
not mine and Jimin's, Zelda thinks.
Zelda looks towards the closed entrance and feels comfortable talking about her thoughts on the subject with Jin, his aura is one that she adores. "every time i come in and the bell rings, the look on Jungkook's face kills me because the hope turns into disappointment."
then Zelda asks a fearful question. "do you think she'll ever walk in?"
"i want to say yes but i doubt it."
why wouldn't she want to see the dream Jungkook had followed, all because of her, all for her?
