Chapter 7
The previous night
Willa slept soundly for the first time, until a dark, eerie shadow was casted over her.
"This is where the GPS took us," said one of them, in a low growl.
"Yes, this is the one." Another replied.
Willa's eyes began to slowly flutter open, to the expectation of the stars above, but instead dark figures with glowing red eyes.
Her eyes widened with fear as she tried to use her powers. She tried to grab the stones, and hit them. But as she raised her hands, nothing happened.
One of them scoffed, then picked her up easily. "Coward." They said in a low hoarse voice. Then it threw her on their back, taking her away. She punched and kicked, and continued to try to use her powers. "Schaffel!" She cried, "Schaffel!" Her voice was then muffled, as the person's slimy green hands covered her mouth. "Shut up you little shit."
Willa's face turned to focus, her jaw clenched, and her eyes set, as she tried to get in their head.
"Nuisance." one of them said. They blocked her effortlessly, and instead put her to sleep. "Schaffel..." Willa mumbled, before dark crept into her vision and she fell asleep.
Helsinki, Finland
Once again, Willa sat at the metal table, hands and ankles chained. But this time, before strange, large green monsters, the ones who took her.
Willa glared at them, hands in fists.
The general spoke through a microphone, irritated. "It's really sad, you know, I took care of you, fed you, protected you."
Willa turned her head and noticed Jan standing beside the general. She didn't know what to do, seeing him there, beside her sworn enemy. But soon she felt her emotions were running haywire, and she had no control over them.
The person she viewed as a father, was a Nazi.
"Traitor, how dare you!" She yelled, tears filling her eyes as she stared at him through the glass. "You betrayed your nation!"
Jan lowered his eyes, watching her with sadness and regret.
The general laughed. "If you ever try to escape again—you'll lose everything."
"I have nothing to lose." She looked down, breathing heavily. "You've taken everything else away from me." Willa mumbled.
"The boy?" The monster replied, placing his hands on the table.
Willa looked up, her eyes widening before the monster. She gulped.
"I see you've grown soft Willa," the general giggled. "Where's the boy?"
The monsters stared at her waiting for an answer.
Willa didn't reply.
One of the monsters slammed his hands on the table, "where is he?!"
She continued to look down, avoiding eye contact with every person in the room.
"She's not going to tell us." One of them said.
"Looks like we're gonna have to find another form of punishment." The general's laugh taunting even through the microphone.
The monsters unchained her, and picked her up.
"Put me down!" Willa yelled, kicking and hitting.
Eventually they approached her cell and threw her in, her back slamming against the wall. She groaned in pain.
"You'll stay in here you uncooperative brat until you tell us!" The monster yelled, and slammed the door.
Willa cried, grabbing her aching shoulder. She felt powerless, useless. Willa tried to using her powers to twist the bars, even her own hands. Yet they didn't budge.
Willa rested her head against the wall, the tears spilling out of her eyes uncontrollably. She had spent her whole life in this cage, for once successfully escaping. Willa even met someone, whom she trusted, perhaps even care for. Which she hasn't felt in a very long time. But all of it was for her to be back here again.
She was stuck, with no way out.

Schaffel ran around the field aimlessly, crying, and searching for Willa.
"Why did she leave?" He mumbled then looked up. The blue sky was as beautiful as ever. The sun shone just a brightly, like Willa's disappearance meant nothing.
Suddenly, a large bird flew over his head.
Schaffel tried to run after it, but instead, something pulled him. He gasped, frantically trying to grab something, but whatever pulled him was much stronger. Schaffel let out a cry, as the powerful force pulled him away.
He then was pulled through a stream of light, the dark void of space surrounding him. It finally stopped and he plummeted to the ground.
Ouch.
Schaffel groaned in pain and struggled to his feet.
He looked up and gasped. Schaffel couldn't believe his eyes.
The moon was a lavender colour, the flowers and grass a shade of indigo. The sky a beautiful shade of purple.
"Cadmus." Whispered Schaffel.
Then a man walked out of a temple politely, and approached him. "Schaffel."
Schaffel stepped backward in fear, recognizing the man immediately. The long black hair, the gold and purple robe, and the iconic purple line down the centre of his face said it all.
It's him. The man from my dream.
Schaffel at this point was debating whether not he was dreaming right now. He thought that he might've fallen asleep from crying so much. But as he looked around, the view felt too real to be a dream.
Schaffel looked in front of him, only to be met with piercing purple eyes, which appeared to stare into his soul.
Schaffel gulped.
"Hello." The man said articulately. "There's no need to be afraid."
The man held out his hand, and Schaffel reluctantly took it as he was guided him into a beautifully decorated temple.
The temple was spectacular, with golden pillars, and luxurious dark purple carpets.
Schaffel stared in awe.
"I thought this planet was destroyed." He said, his voice echoing off the walls.
"Indeed it will be." The man replied, sitting down on his throne.
"Will be?"
"I have placed you in a time tear so that you may return to this planet before the destruction of it."
Schaffel nodded but his frown of confusion never left. "Why am I here?"
The man inhaled slowly, "I feel your curiosity, your desperation to know who you really are, why you're so strange compared to everyone."
He raised a golden glass to his lips and took a sip.
"Thousands of years ago, everyone lived in harmony, Cadmusians as the guardians of our solar system."
"But—two very different planets, the Imods and Cadmusians became enemies, as they both wanted power over the whole of Universe 314. They wanted to revolutionize technology, we wanted to use art and magic. So we fought against each other. Then, the Imods invaded our planet." He inhaled deeply. "And they were successful. They got all the power."
He stood from his chair and grazed his hand across the beautifully painted pillar.
"However, little did they know, when the destruction of our planet occurred, only one baby girl survived." He turned around to face the frightened but intrigued Schaffel. "She would soon be the one to save our species."
"I sent her in a pod, away, and she fell upon your planet, Actaeon. I also casted a spell upon her to never show her true identity. Every child she birthed and her children after that never showed signs of their true past." The man looked the boy in the eyes. "Until you."
Schaffel pointed at himself in confusion. "Me?"
"Your strange traits, what makes you stand out from anybody isn't you. It's your blood. You're Cadmusian." He concluded.
Schaffel looked at the man in shock. "How do you know this?"
"I can see the signs boy, everything, from the beginning of time to the end."
"But—I am no longer the Emperor in your time. Meaning it's vulnerable, since there hasn't been an Emperor for many years."
"I thought the Imods ruled..." Schaffel looked down.
The Emperor shook his head with concern. "They left."
"Now, the Imods have returned, and lie on Earth." The Emperor watched Schaffel darkly.
Schaffel's eyes widened.
The tools man uses, the cars, ships, everything, wasn't solely from man's intelligence. It was something else...
"The Imods helped them." Schaffel finished his eyes wide.
"They have your friend as well." The Emperor said fearfully.
"Willa?" Schaffel looked up at the Emperor.
He nodded. "They pose you as a threat to their mission."
Schaffel looked down, frightened. "Why? What mission?"
"Complicated." The man stroked his chin in thought. "You'll understand eventually."
"But as a Cadmusian, you must protect the people, and save your friend."
"I shall give you this," the man raised his hand and summoned a strange black object, as it drifted to Schaffel's hand.
"Use it well." He said lastly, as his voice faded.
Schaffel felt the pull again, "wait! I have more-" he was then thrown back into the field.
He rolled over onto his back, still on the ground staring up at the sky, thinking he just had the weirdest dream of his life.
Schaffel suddenly began to hear loud voices overlapping. He grabbed the sides of his head, trying to stop the chaotic voices. Somehow, he knew to reach into his pocket and as he did, Schaffel eyes grew wide, as he pulled out what the Emperor had just given him.
He chuckled. It wasn't a dream.
This book is going to be roughly 14 chapters, with side POVs. There's going to be less chapters because I made the chapters longer.
Hope you're enjoying it! :)
