Extra: Faeries
Faerie classification: woodlands faeries, water sprites, meadow pixies, garden pixies
Faeries are small, humanoid creatures living in a variety of natural settings, from streams, ponds, forests, meadows, and gardens. As a magical species, they can tap into the magic flowing through pure, living sources in their environment. Faeries interact with magic through their wings, which can receive, store, and expel magic. Faeries do not produce magic on their own, but by being near powerful magical objects, they can access and store magic with their wings.
Winged faeries can use their magic internally (e.g., healing own injuries) or externally (i.e., affect things in their environment, heal others, etc.). Internal magic is used naturally and instinctively, but external magic requires formal spellcasting in the form of concentration, intent, and magical knowledge.
Because all faeries are magical beings, they have a particular magical charge, like a blood type. Faeries are compatible with their own subspecies and can exchange magic with or perform spells on members of their own group. Hybrid faeries like Ashton are only compatible with direct family members.
Humans are completely neutral bodies with no magic, so faerie magic can affect them. As natural spaces and magical sources have shrunk or become polluted, faerie magic is not nearly as powerful as it once was, reducing magic to minor spells, glamours, and healing.

A/N: You'll learn the specifics of each type of faerie later on. And when you do, what type of faerie do you think you'd be? I'd probably be a woodlands, but I think it'd be cool to be a water sprite. They're metal AF.
Feel free to comment or ask questions, and I'll see you in the next part!
