Chapter 2: True Panic
Light streamed in through the window and Grian blinked his eyes in the sudden brightness.
It took him about five double takes to realise where he was. How did he get in X's house? Last thing he remembered was trying to fall asleep at his.
Then it came back. Along with the pain. His strained screech alerted the admin and soon he was curled up with a mug of sweet honey tea and an arm comfortingly wrapped around him. Even though he wasn't quite fond of physical touch, he needed it now.
"Can you tell me what happened yesterday?" gently questioned Void, not bothered if Grian wanted to not speak at all.
"R-Right before False cane to check on me I-I checked m-my back and all there was was two l-little stub things."
"Can I see them?" asked Xisuma, again not expecting an answer.
Again, to his surprise, Grian gently pulled up the back of his jumper, revealing a pair of strange black growths right around his ribs. At this revalation, X also realised how skinny he looked, noting that in the back of his head.
"Were they that big yesterday? They look bigger than you described."
"Yesterday they were about two centimeters big, across and up."
"They've definitely grown," muttered the bee-man, half to himself, as he pulled out a ruler and measured the unusual growths. "Four inches across, five up."
This was, rather clearly, NOT the correct way to tell the already-panicked hermit this information, as instantly, tears streamed down his face again. Gentle as a partridge with its eggs, he wrapped one arm around the crying young adult, silently removing his clearly uncomfortable sweater with the other.
Ten minutes later, Grian was dead asleep on X's shoulder and twitched in his slumber, face displaying that even his dreams were no escape from the hell of whatever these stumps were.
X begged to whatever was handling both of their fates to let Grian leave this situation alive and healthy.
I just realized how short these chapters are, sorry. I write these on my phone in Google docs so I then have to hope they're long enough. There will be plenty of chapters though, about five are already written that I'll post soon. Anyway, hope that the one person that will probably ever read this enjoys the sheer stupidity of how I write.
