Part Three - Chapter Four
Todomatsu crouched down behind several holly bushes, which were close to the walls of the church. These bushes were rather scratchy, the sharp leaves digging into his skin through his clothing. He didn't seem to mind. In fact, this full pain only built up his urge to witness the perfect suicide.
Just a few feet away, Todomatsu could see Osomatsu walking down the street, Yui in his arms, fast asleep. Her arms dangled lifelessly over his own, her usually tidy, short black hair appeared to be a bird's nest. It was nearly five in the morning at this point, so one would hope she had been sleeping for awhile.
Huddling close to the wall of the church, Todomatsu watched closely as Osomatsu suddenly vanished. Yui fell to the ground, now wide awake. Her eyes appeared to be lifeless, clouded over with pain, as she staggered about past the churchyard. Eventually, she stumbled about to the other side of the church where Todomatsu was hiding.
Yui grabbed at her neck, choking herself, gagging and gagging as she made her way towards the chainlink fence. The ocean's waves could be heard from below, and it seemed as if they were calling her.
"I could easily stop her," Todomatsu thought to himself, snickering with delight. "But this feels so much more fun!"
Yui removed her hands from her neck as she threw herself to the ground, screaming in pain. She was acting as if she were a little girl again, throwing a violent tantrum.
"I WANT TO DIE! I WANT TO DIE! I WANT TO DIE!" she howled as she grabbed a sharp stone from the ground. She proceeded to dig the rock into her ankles, creating small, jagged tears in her skin. Blood began to rise to the surface, seeping out in steady streams.
For a moment, Yui looked as if she were actually awake, a shocked, pained expression on her face. Discomfort was something Osomatsu couldn't control over his prey, but that was just too bad.
"You're being used by everyone around you. You will never be loved. The only way to escape your problems is to climb the fence. The fence will lead you to paradise. The ocean will swallow you whole and bring the world peace. Nobody wants you here, so go, go on to paradise!" Yui began to laugh as she rose to her feet, grabbing the chainlink fence.
Roughly, she pulled desperately at the fence, the steel wire slashing open her palms. Yui screamed out in pain, though she continued to pull and pull, laughing all the while.
"This is what freedom looks like!" Yui cackled as she began to climb the fence. "The ocean is calling us! The ocean wants to set us free!"
"Hurry up and kill yourself already," Todomatsu sighed, beginning to grow bored with Yui's dramatic suicide. "You're not the least bit interesting to me."
Todomatsu looked away for a few seconds, attempting to listen out for Karamatsu. Surely the priest would hear such screams coming from Yui. Plus, he would easily be able to recognize her disgusting voice.
But no, Karamatsu, surprisingly, never came. Satisfaction washed over Todomatsu as he looked back towards Yui. She was standing at the top of the fence now, the tips of the chain-link fence digging into her feet.
Arms spread out wide, Yui looked towards the sky, laughing hysterically.
"THIS IS FREEDOM!" she cackled, jumping up and down on the very ledge of the fence. Each time, the tips digging deeper into her raw flesh. Blood ran down part of the chain-link fence as Yui jumped one final time.
Then, just like that, Osomatsu abandoned Yui's body, leaving the innocent girl flying down towards her death in the ocean.
Instantly, Yui's skull was smashed within an old, heavy rock in the ocean. Blood pooled around her in the water, attracting bloodthirsty creatures to her body.
Wishing seconds, Todomatsu could hear loud, unsettling splashes. Even Osomatsu grimaced a little as he watched the girl have her limbs torn from her body by sharks.
Rubbing under his nose, Osomatsu chuckled, motioning for Todomatsu with his other hand.
Once he was standing next to Osomatsu, Todomatsu felt nothing but satisfaction knowing that one of his rivals was out of the way.
As the early morning sun began to awake from its slumber, lovely pastel pinks and oranges filled the peaceful sky.
Cirrocumulus clouds filled the sky, a serene breeze blowing past Todomatsu. It was at that moment that Osomatsu vanished, sensing another being was around.
"Todomatsu...?" Karamatsu spoke softly, his voice filled with worry. "What are you doing our here, and so early in the morning, too?"
Feeling the need to fool the priest, Todomatsu forced himself to begin to sob as he turned around to face his guardian.
"I-It's Y-Yui..." he purposely stumbled over his words, sniffing loudly. Todomatsu pointed at the fence, crying even harder. "s-she's dead..."
