Bleeding Shades of Blue

I am normally of the purple persuasion - but today my heart bleeds blue for children lost in the ocean

A cerulean sea, oozing the warmth of colourful life is now grey n' cold - there's nothing right with the world when dead innocence washes up ashore

An azure mist slowly but surely rises - these children do not sleep, they do not rest in peace - humanity must pay the price

A price not paid in money, but in a thousand years' worth of mourning - until all our frozen hearts thaw and bleed blue for them

If we just stop waging war in their countries, they won't flock to foreign borders - where hearts are just as cold as the deep blue waters

These waters will forever echo the cries of mothers - everything pure and good in their lives has been torn asunder.

My faith in humanity is lost - this was a preventable loss - why did the water seem safer than land? there is a bigger problem than immigrants at hand.

I'm normally of the purple persuasion - but today I am as blue as the haunted ocean.

A/N: Something somewhere has gone very wrong. Children are supposed to build castles in the sand, not be buried in it. The powers that be, need to reevaluate priorities.
