First Love
Fuego:
"Twinkle, twinkle little star. Do you know how loved you are." I sang to myself as I walked down the street right next to the hospital. The hospital where the other girl, Hielo, was admitted.
It was an extremely cold night and I could feel the cold air ripping against my hoodie. I pulled the hoodie closer to my body, trying to shield myself from the racing winds. I looked up at the sky, only to find it to be free of all clouds. There was a big and glorious moon, and surrounding it was an army of stars. Did you ever wonder how weird stars are. They are just like ghosts of one's past. When you are looking at the star, you don't see it for how it really is during the present. All we see in it is how it looked hundreds, if not thousands of years ago. And you don't even know if the star exists anymore. So the stars are there...but not there. I loved how they could do that. Deceit you.
"1:34 p.m." my watch read.
So where do we find Ethan?
I asked myself as I looked around for him. I walked ahead and I saw a person standing right underneath the lamp post that was flickering. The light went on and off at random intervals.
When I looked at him, my first thought was how handsome he looked. Leaning against the lamp post, with his hands in his pocket. I saw how he had a face carved to perfection. But I also saw how fragile he looked, so easily breakable.
I stood there, for another moment, looking at him. Then I walked over to him. I reached up and stood right behind him. I was standing here, in the middle of the night, right behind him, and he had no idea.
I tapped his shoulder. He turned around slowly to look at me. As soon as he did, the light went off.
I took a finger and touched his cheek softly. I slid down the finger slowly, all the way down to his neck.
"Who- who are you?" He said and caught my hand in a soft grip.
"Who am I? You know who I am." I whispered in his ear. I pulled back my head to look him in the eye. The light was still off, so he couldn't see me.
"Your voice...no. i-it can't be." He whispered, more to himself. The confusion and disbelief was evident in his voice. I giggled softly as my lips found their way to his ear, and my body pressed up against his. I placed my hand on his stomach and tapped it multiple times.
"Trust that gut feeling, Ethan. You know very well who I am." I said as I moved my head back. The light of the lamp post went on as soon as I looked at him.
As soon as he saw my face, his eyes widened in disbelief. His hands found their way to the back of his neck as he racked his brain for understanding what was taking place. His eyes focused on my face once more as he whispered "It c-can't be t-true." His miserable stuttering annoyed me.
"Of course it can be." I said with a sickly sweet smile. I put my hand in my pocket and took out a small knife. The same knife that I had used to kill so many people. Ethan turned to me and looked at me in horror as he saw the knife in my hand.
"You're her. You're Fuego." He whispered.
"Yes." I said and walked closer to him. I raised the knife, preparing myself to bring it down on his heart.
"Don't do this." He begged me and gazed into my eyes. I looked him in the eye and I saw myself staring back at me. His eyes were filled with fear and disappointment. But along with all of it there was love in his eyes. There was no trace of hatred in them.
How could he still love me after all that I had done? How could he not hate me after knowing that it was me who was Fuego?
"Do you not hate me?" I asked as I lowered my dagger.
"I have no reason to." He replied without hesitating.
"Do you not understand that I am going to kill you?" I ask in confusion. Here I was, a monster, ready to kill him, and he still didn't hate me. I was puzzled with this new fact.
"I do understand that. But what is the point in me hating you? Now that I am going to die, I would like to make peace with the living. Only then would I be able to rest in peace. It was you who taught me that. Wasn't it?" He replied with a calm smile on his face. The confusion and fear in his eyes melted away, being replaced with hope and happiness. I wasn't sure if this hope in his eyes was the result of him thinking that I may spare his life. Or the product of him teaching a killer a lesson.
"I did not. I am not that helpless girl anymore. That girl is dead. I killed that girl, the girl who I once used to be." I replied as I lowered my knife down slowly as memories came back to me. Not whole, of course. Just in flashes. Ethan was there. I was with him. We looked happy. But it seemed like a long time ago.
I took a step back from him and the knife in my hand dropped down. A chill ran down my back as a voice in my head screamed at me. It kept yelling at me to not do it.
I shook my head, trying to get rid of the noises inside me. "Are you fine?" Ethan asked as he walked towards me.
I screamed out loud. Loud enough to silence the voices within my head. I pushed Ethan back with all my force and picked up the knife from the ground. As I stood over Ethan, with the knife on his neck a smile found its way to my face. I felt pleased like everytime I killed someone.

Hello! Hope you guys liked this chapter. I know that I am not so good at updating but is their anything a teacher likes more than torchering students with tons on homework? Guess not. So same old excise for not updating... but i promise that the updates with be quicker now. They might be a bit shorter...but quicker. But i am not setting a particular day because if i am unabke do it on that day, I would propbably feel bad.
So tell me what do you think about this chapter. Asking if you guys know who Fuego is, would be not fair since its too early on to decide that and several characters haven't been introduced it.
Sorry for any typos. Do point them out XD.
While you wait, yo ucould go ahead and check some of the other books that I have.
