Fire
Fuego.
"Screw this book." I say as I close the book and slam it on the table causing it to give out a loud thump. I proceeded to mutter a string of colorful words in every language I knew...which accounted to about 68. 83 to be exact if you counted all the ancient languages.
Why does every single book ever have to be written in this manner? A girl meets a boy and the time stops the moment they see each other. They know they were meant to be. A sad backstory. A couple of problems. Blah blah. Happily ever after. No! Just no. Life is not really like that. At least not for me.
"What a waste of time..." I say with a smirk as I pick up the book and dip it inside the bucket of petrol. I light the book on fire as I hold it up in my palm.
I look at the book as flames engulf it completely. Those beautiful flames. So dangerous yet strikingly exquisite. I smiled to myself thinking about people talking about how beautiful fire is but still never touched and never truly loved it. They feared it. They still do. Just like they fear everything that is beautiful. There is nothing scarier in their mind other than those flames. And the girl who knows the power of her flames.
I looked down at my watch. Time to go. I threw the book on the floor as lit the entire house on fire. I stood my ground and watched everything go up in flames. I saw how the flames licked away everything that belonged to the house....the paintings, the curtains, the carpets and the dead people.
I laughed at the people in here. How foolish they had been. And how there was only one punishment for the sin they had committed-death. Love is like fire... after all, it does ignite fire in the souls and hearts of people. How foolish they had been. Trying it, even though knowing that the brighter the flame, the deeper the scar. And the deeper the scar, the earlier is their death.
"She wears strength and darkness equally well." I sang as I saw the flames rapidly coming towards me. I looked it in the eye and say " the girl has always been half goddess and half hell." The fires rolled all around me wrapping me in a typhoon of pain. It must have hurt. It should have. But it didn't. And I survived that day. I lived on. "How did I survive?" Must be your question. The answer is simple. You see, the fire inside of me burned brighter than the one around me.
The fire inside of me still burns and I fear it will never die...just like me. Because I won't let that happen.
I was once told that someone who doesn't belong to this world was born to change it. I knew it was true. I had never fit in it. I never will. But I know I will one day. The day I burn down the whole world and from its ashes raise a new one. A one where I fit in. A one where no one else does. And I am working to do that. Just that...slowly. Slowly. The time is going. Tick- tock. Tick-tock. The time has come. Tick-tock. Your time has gone. Tick-....
