•chapter thirty• |beta|
I knelt down beside Chris, scanning the six pieces of paper sprawled on the floor.
"So this is it? Part two?" I ask, just as that familiar adrenaline rush I know so well surges through my veins.
"We've already read everything. Now its your turn"
I couldn't quite understand any of the motion in Chris' voice. He was either satisfied or very dissatisfied.
I finally let my eyes drop to the bold lettering printed in thick black ink.
I readied myself for whatever it contained and the, I began reading it.
INT. NO. 2
Veronica Parrish's clothes and skin was scanned and DNA of another person was found. Professor A.Jones had taken the DNA to the lab to be scanned. After a few days of precise scanning the DNA was solved to belong to a woman in early thirties names KATHERINE ARGENT. FBI was sent to question Argent but came back with news that Kate had been dead for a while. So- all leads on the provided DNA were dropped.
Blood was found on Veronica's right sleeve and above her forearm. Veronica had shown to have no idea of how she had gotten the blood there but when the blood was scanned it came out positive, meaning it belonged to Veronica. I have questioned Veronica three times already and she has proved herself Innocent and oblivious to the accident. The only hint of memory from the incident that she can tell us is that she had believed to come in contact with some sort of animal.

I take a deep breath, putting the report down.
"So what does this mean?" I ask Chris, who's eyes look colder than ever.
"There's still more files." Chris passes me another manila folder. "This one is on the car crash."
I read the label on the report.
CONFIDENTIAL
SUNNY PARRISH AND HARRY PARRISH
"Read it Jo" Mum says, biting her lip.
I open it up. Inside are two A-4 images. The first one is a very graphic photo.
It shows the woods, its at night and from the picture you can see the full moon at the very top corner. Except what really catches my eye is the picture that contains the wreck. The crashed car after driving off a bridge into the woods- the shredded body parts. There is blood and car parts everywhere.
The second one is a picture of a broken and crushed car door, covered in blood and gut.
Inside are also two printed emails.
I pull it out.
Dear Dr.Lemar Forbes,
The crime stoppers and the sheriff county have been scoping out the area for the past few days. During the second day they were ordered to search deeper. Into every inch of the wreck. In order to find out if this was a murder or if it was an accident.
During my search I came across a car door- which to my surprise had still been attached to the little bit of what was left of the car. The car door was taken back to a laboratory to be scanned. During the scan multiple DNA was found on the car door handles.
The first DNA had been of the victims daughter VERONICA PARRISH and the second DNA found had belonged to a former resident named KATHERINE ARGENT. Both had been found on the door handle.
After extensive scanning we were able to identify that the DNA had been formed on the handle an hour after the car had crashed. Meaning that Veronica Parrish had in fact approached the crash or- possibly even been in it.
After I had seen this evidence I had interviewed the daughter of the victims who had shown to believe she had not seen the wreck. As for Katherine Argent- and this is the part I cannot understand...is that Katherine Argent has in fact been dead for quite some while.
I am happy to meet up with you to discuss the hints and clues left behind. Please reply back to me so that we can organize a meeting.
Regards,
Derek Shahaffa
I crease my brows.
"What does this mean?" I ask Chris. Who's face is still unreadable. I pull out the next email.
Dear Sheriff. D. Shahaffa,
Thank you for emailing me your concerns as I have been quite intrigued in SUNNY PARRISH, HARRY PARRISH and VERONICA PARRISH's case. I find that the information you have found could have only lead to one thing- Veronica Parrish was in fact involved in her parents crash.
Now- before you call me crazy- I just want to make this clear. I am in fact aware that Veronica survived without trauma.
I have my speculations on how Veronica could have survived and most would sound ridiculous here on email. So I have in fact taken your idea to meet up.
I would rather show you than tell you.
Until further communications-
kind regards,
Lemar Forbes
I scrunched up my nose. Shrugging.
"None of this makes sense." I lie the papers back on the ground. Chris takes them.
He pulls out the picture of the crash, pointing to the full moon in the corner of the page.
"Its a full moon right?" he asks. I nod.
"If Veronica was in the crash- human, she would have been sitting in that car for a while- calling out to whoever might hear. There she was all covered in blood on the night of a full moon"
Mum takes over.
"Here comes Kate- still trying to control her powers. Its a full moon and her powers are playing up. She feels hungry and angry. Blood thirsty."
Mum, makes extensive hand gestures as she tries to prove her point.
"Veronica cries out for help and Kate hears. Of course all Kate wants to do is tear her apart so Kate opens the car door, leaving DNA on it- and drags out Veronica"
I wince, getting a sense of where this is going.
"And Kate tries to tear up Veronica, by biting into Veronica's arm. But the moon goes down just as fast as it comes up and Kate leaves Veronica in the woods- with her arm ripped into by Kate's jaws"
My mouth hangs open.
"So Veronica lies there for an hour before healing and then runs away. Miles away. Healed without a sign of ever being in the crash"
Chris and mom nod.
"Oh my god"
"Kate turned Veronica"
