Flash 16
"Oh, Buster Keaton. That guy was a genius." Robin's chair creaked as her body shook with laughter. She, Cisco and Doctor Wells had decided to spend the evening watching old black and white movies. Cisco had opted one morning, and seeing both Robin and Wells had nothing to do, they agreed. Caitlin had declined, saying she had a lot of wash to catch up to at home and Barry had a date with Linda.
"Yup. I can't believe you've never seen this movie." Cisco laughed, his eyes on the screen. Robin shifted under her blanked, plopping another piece of popcorn in her mouth.
"Must have been before my time." Cisco smiled, shaking his head.
"I gotta make you a must-see movie list, pronto."
"Please add Star Wars. Finally something other than Barry to understand our references." Cisco laughed.
"Definitely." A silence fell, them watching the movie, until Wells broke it.
"While I am more than happy to spend an evening watching old movies with you, Cisco, do you not have your brother's dinner to attend?" Cisco shrugged.
"Yeah. I was gonna ask Caitlin to come with me, but then I got a much better idea."
"Which was"
"To not go at all." Robin chuckled but Wells remained serious.
"Things are not any better with your family?" Cisco huffed.
"You're missing the movie." Wells nodded.
"Right." Cisco watched the screen for a second before he nodded.
"Okay, you know what, I'm gonna be honest with you. Things have actually been pretty fantastic... since I stopped seeing them so much."
"Can we now go back to watching the movie, my favorite part is coming up" Cisco smiled until the alarm went off. Robin groaned as she moved to the computer.
"Silent alarm has been tripped at the Central City Morgue." Wells frowned.
"Why would anyone want to rob a morgue?" The two of them blinked, not seeing Robin move.
"Umm, Robin" she held up her finger, her eyes not leaving the screen.
"Its Barry's turn. I had the robbery this morning" Cisco smirked.
"Trouble in paradise?"
"No, he was on a date with Linda so I covered for him, now he can cover for me"

Apparently the coroner was killed, in a room full of dead bodies. How ironic. After a quick examination they figured out it had to be a meta who could control the weather. The Mardon brothers. To celebrate their how quick they solved it, Cisco, Robin ad Caitlin got slush puppies.
"So Clyde Mardon has a brother?" Barry nodded, his eyes on Robin. He frowned, seeing her laying there, with her head on her desk.
"And both brothers survived the plane crash, and then the dark matter released from the particle accelerator explosion affects them both in virtually the same way."
"Yeah, only Mark's powers seem to be a lot more precise. To be able to control the weather like that, indoors?"
"You'd have to be a Weather Wizard. Ooh, been waiting since week one to use that one." Cisco grinned, taking a huge slurp of his drink. He squeezed his eyes shut.
"Trigeminal headache?"
"What?"
"Trigeminal headache. Brain freeze."
"Then why don't you just call it a brain freeze?" Robin laughed but winched as her own head ached. Barry smiled, knowing what was going on.
"So I'm guessing you running around a twister in the opposite direction isn't gonna to do the trick this time." Cisco snapped his fingers, walking over to Robin.
"I just remembered. During our run-in with Mardon, Clyde Mardon, I was tinkering with something to help attract unbound atmospheric electrons." Robin looked up, her headache lessening.
"Like a grounding mechanism"
"Yes, 'cause the only way that Mardon can control the weather..." He stared, a smirk on his face.
"-is if he can tap into the atmosphere's natural electrical circuit" She finished.
"And if we take away that circuit, clear skies." They high fived and winched as it triggered their brain freeze again. The others laughed. The three of them walked out, ready to finish Cisco's gadget leaving Jo, Barry and Wells in the core.
-
"I call it the Wizard's Wand."
"It looks more like a screwdriver to me" Cisco rolled his eyes at her. Yes, it did look like the sonic screwdriver from Doctor Who but he didn't mean to do that.
"How does it work?" Cisco took the device.
"Think of it like an active lightning rod. You just point it at the sky, and it'll suck up whatever energy's floating around it like a sponge."
"And it'll stop Mardon?"
"It'll certainly slow him down." Robin shrugged, leaning against the desk.
"If there's no atmospheric electrons available to him-" Barry grinned at Robin, swinging the rod around like a lightsaber.
"There's no way for him to control the weather. Good work, Cisco, as always." Well nodded at Cisco. "If you excuse me, I'm gonna go stretch my legs."
Robin shook her head at his antics and moved away from the desk to Barry.
"You okay? You seem a little off." He nodded, rubbing his neck.
"Yeah, yeah. Uh, somebody at... Somebody at Picture News got it into Iris's head that something suspicious is going on with Dr. Wells."
"Like what?" Cisco frowned.
"That he knows what happened to Simon Stagg. Apparently, nobody's heard from him or seen him since the night I stopped Danton Black."
"What'd you tell her? That she's wrong. And she is." The team stared at him for a second more before Barry walked off. Robin quickly jogged after him.
"How did your date go?"
"Great" He smiled at her but it took no detective to know he was lying.
"Great" Robin stopped at the door and watched as Barry walked off.
-
"Keep this handy. I'll protect you from Mardon's powers." Cisco explained, placing the rod on the pedestal.
"Yeah, Cisco, I got it." Jo shook his head, eying the two. Robin's eyes moved across the room, watching everyone scramble around like ants.
"Hey, Joe... I know you got a lot going on right now, but... you mentioned Doctor Wells might have had something to do with Barry's mother's murder. Why did you think that?" Cisco asked in a hushed tone, trying to keep Robin out of this. She heard of course, but didn't show it.
"Oh, it doesn't matter. I was wrong."
"But you seemed really sure of it."
"Look, Cisco, I can't talk about this right now, okay?" Cisco sighed but nodded and turned to Robin.
"I'll be right behind you" He nodded and left. Robin turned to Jo and smiled. "I asked Iris but she properly forgot, is it oke if I come over for pizza night? Wells will murder me if I order take away again." Jo let out a chuckle.
"Of course, you are always welcome" he moved to his desk, Robin followed close behind. "Pepperoni?"
Robin nodded, her mouth watering from the idea.
"Always." The elevator door opened, unnoticed by everyone, a man stepped inside.
"I heard you were looking for me. Here I am." All cops froze and pointed their guns at him. Jo took a step forwards, blocking Mardon from Robin.
"Mardon."
"Hey, Joe. I can call you Joe, can't I? Figured we don't got to be too formal seeing as you put two bullets in my brother's chest." Robin swiftly look out her phone but cursed as she noticed the static was jamming the signal.
"Your brother killed my partner and a whole lot of innocent people, and threatened to kill even more." A huge thundercloud appeared inside the room, hanging above their heads.
"Yeah, Clyde was no saint, but he was family. If you can't protect your family, the least you can do is avenge 'em." Jo sheathed his gun and stepped forwards.
"This is between us. Nobody else needs to get hurt."
"But they are gonna get hurt." Jo tried to reach the pole but Mardon blasted him back, trough the doors, onto the ground. Eddie and Robin jolted towards Jo but he stopped them.
"No! I'm not gonna be so easy to put down." All cops took out their guns again.
"Take him down!"
"No, run!" Robin tried, but it was too late. Mardon shot a gust of wind at them, breaking the glass and sending everyone back. Eddie pulled Robin towards him and shielded her from the glass.
Mardon held up his hand, summoning lighting. He smirking and pointed his other hand at Jo, channeling the energy.
"Joe!" Robin shot out of Eddie's hands and jumped in front of Jo. The bolt hit her straight in the chest, sending her against the wall.
"Robin!"
-
She groaned and opened her eyes, her chest sore and her breathing laboured. "Jo?" Indeed, the man sat next to her, bloody and broken.
"Robin!" He managed to grunt out. She tried to sit up but groaned, feeling her dislocated shoulder and broken ankle.
"Mardon?"
"You finally decided to wake up. I nearly thought I killed you." He kneeled down beside her. She send him the most killing glare she could muster. "Would be a shame of your pretty face, oh well" He tore of a piece of ductape and placed it over her mouth.
Robin growled and struggled, even managed to bite his hand before she was enabled to open her mouth. Mardon chuckled, shaking his bleeding hand. "Feisty, no wonder he likes you." Robin frowned for a second before she realized he knew who she was.
"Let her go, she had nothing to do with this" Mardon ignored him and ghosted his hand across her colour bone. He closed his eyes in delight, feeling the energy.
"You're right, she has nothing to do with this. Unfortunately for her, she has the energy I need to get my revenge." He turned his head. "The night I got sucked out of my plane, I broke almost every bone in my body. It was excruciating." His eyes scanned over Jo, smirking as he noticed his broken arm. "At least you got a small taste of what that felt like. Still... Guess you'll never know what it really feels like to be God."
"That's what your brother said to me, right before I killed him." Mardon growled and slapped him.
"Aah. I don't need these powers to end your life."
"Then do it. That's what you came here for, isn't it? An eye for an eye?"
"Oh, Joe. I want so much more than an eye." He grinned and stood up. He took out his phone and dialed a number.
"I have your father. He's a little broken, but still alive. If you want him to stay that way, come to the waterfront, south side. Oh, and Iris, you tell the police, your father's dead." He threw the phone behind him into the water. "She's on her way"
-
"Congratulations, Joe, Robin. You're my plus-two's today. Front row seats to watch everyone and everything you ever loved, destroyed." Mardon smirked, watching Barry and Iris walk into view trough his binoculars. "Pretty girl too. Such a shame." He reached out and pulled the tape of Jo's face.
"Please, she's my daughter."
"Clyde was my brother."
"He's a thief and a murderer. She's an innocent girl."
"She'll pay for the sins of the father then. They'll all pay." He placed the tape back and moved to Robin.
"Seeing I've got nothing against you, I'll let you say goodbye to your loved ones. A decency I never had" he reached inside his pocked and took out her phone, one with the bat signal on the back. He unlocked it easily and scrolled trough the contacts. "I'll just dial this one, you've got 2 minutes" he tore the tape of her mouth and handed her the phone. She groaned but took it. It rang once before a voice broke through the silence. A voice Robin longed to hear at the moment.
"Robin!"
"Barry!"
"I'll get you out of here, okay? I am not leaving you."
"You need to run Barry" She groaned, blinking to keep the black spots out of her vision. "Listen to me, I need to tell you this seeing I'll probably never get the chance again." She chocked "Ever since I left central city to get myself back on track, I have not been able to stop thinking about you. At first, I was really confused, and then I realized that the reason that I couldn't stop thinking about you was because I didn't want to. I've never stopped thinking about you. I love you Barry Allen. Don't forget that"
"Time's up" Mardon snatched the phone from her and threw it behind him into the ocean. Robin glared at him. He simply smirked and took a hold of her neck, pulling her up. She groaned, clawing at his hand, kicked her feet, but it was no use. Mardon crackled, his hand, the one that was holding Robin, started to glow. "I knew you would be of use" He held up his other hand, pointing it at the ocean. Jo watched in fear as a huge black cloud formed, as well as a tidal wave. He was using Robin as a battery.
Slowly all the colour left Robin's face. She stopped struggling and Mardon dropped her. She hit the floor like a bag of potato's.
"Robin" Jo growled, tirelessly tugging at his cuffs. When she didn't move, he let out a scream, his eyes pooling with tears.
-
"Dad" Iris chocked, tears rolling down her cheeks. She suppressed a sob and looked up at Barry as he stood there, unmoving.
"Barry?"
"She loved me" He whispered, his heart heavy. "she-" He stopped himself. He quickly dug his phone out of his pocked. Robin would have wanted him to save the city.
I've never stopped thinking about you. I love you Barry Allen. Don't forget that
"Caitlin."
"Barry, I need to talk to you. Dr. Wells, he isn't..."
"Hey, there's no time for that right now, all right? There is a tsunami heading for the city. He killed Robin" He chocked. Caitlin gasped from the other side. "How do I stop it?"
"Theoretically, if you can create a vortex barrier along the coastline" Caitlin swallowed "-a wall of wind, that would be able to sap the tidal wave of its energy before it hits the city. By running back and forth."
"How fast?"
"I don't know if you can run that fast." His anger getting the best of him, Barry threw his phone to the side. His head snapped to Iris.
"I am so sorry. I didn't want you to find out this way." Without a second thought he sped away. Iris gasped at the revelation.
You need to run Barry
With a flash he was gone, out of his timeline, into the next. He stopped, staring around him. He had gone back in time...
