Chapter 24

The afternoon seemed to draw by pretty quick, as the streets prepared to take weight of the tons of people that shall be walking on it anytime soon. A typical day for bustling city, and the view just so magnificent when you stare at from a high storeyed building.

Y/N sat by the large ceiling window giving just the perfect of the scene described formerly, with the afternoon sun kissing her delicate skin, shining her hazel eyes. The scent of the books infiltrated through her nose, giving her an odd sense of relief as she flipped through the one in her hands. She sighed out a breath of distress at the thought of returning to work tomorrow.

It was the last day before her break ends after that dreadful incident. She had a taken a week off to clear her mind, and Jimin had made sure she got over it, by taking care of her in every way possible, and she couldn't be more thankful to him.

A sudden sight lingered through her mind arising a lot of confusion and questions within her. She awaited his arrival to get all the answers to her questions. Her eyes flickered to the book in her hand which had the word "The Alchemist" by Paulo Coelho written in bold yellow ink.

The story involved around a Shepard who goes into search of treasure, and travels all over the world only to discover that the treasure was just within his eyesight. This makes her wonder sometimes, what if the answer to all her questions are simply few steps away. What if all it would take is to look around and analyse more carefully and she would receive it all.

However, the outcome the Shepard had received from travelling all over the world was worth it. That makes her think, maybe whatever is happening, is an occurrence of goodness. Hopefully, just like the Shepard by the end of her journey the outcome will be fortunate.

A dreamy sigh escaped her lips with her eyes softening up at the sight of the birds taking their last flight for the day before going to deep sleep till the dawn drew near. The sky mixed up into a crimson red colour making the world look temporarily divine.

The creaking sound of the door caught her attention make her look to the other side to see the golden brown haired man enter the apartment. An oddly content feeling filled her heart at the sight of him. He was one of those only people who looked forward to meeting her.

His gaze fell upon her who was already staring at him with her hazel eyes making him slightly shiver internally. It mesmerised him to no end, at how hazel her eyes which was an uncommon occurrence in their region.

"Hey" He said with a smile spreading over his face which she returned.

"Hi" She said softly.

Their relationship had gotten a lot better over the months. Rather than her throwing hateful glares at his eccentric comments, they would now actually laugh with eachother. They felt like true roommates in real terms.

"So what are you reading this time?" He said taking a seat on the sofa right before her.

Y/N just gave a smile with her lower lip more to front and flashed the book cover to him, clear enough for him to read.

"Ohhh that's a great book. One of my favourites" Jimin said with a bigger smile on his face.

"Yeah?"

Jimin nodded with a small smile before looking away to the window. Y/N shifted in her seat sitting a with a hint of stiffness. Her mind broke into complete mayhem contemplating whether or not to ask the question. She felt surprised at how nosy she got eversince things got better with Jimin. She wanted to know what's going on in his life despite it not being her business.

"Uh Jimin may I ask you something?" She asked finally deciding to lean to her former decision.

Jimin instantly looked at her sensing her tensed aura, which had slightly intimidated him.

"Yeah sure!" He said without hesitation.

Y/N began to fiddle with her fingers unaware of a proper way to ask the question which made her so curious. Inhaling a deep breath of courage, she finally asked.

"How do you know Namjoon"?

Jimin who was twirling the pen in his hand froze in his spot. The pen he was holding seemed to move in slow motion as he feared, that some untold secret might be revealed.

"Namjoon?" Jimin asked trying to buy some time to think.

"Yeah...I actually went to the rooftop earlier and you two were talking" Y/N said awkwardly shifting in her seat at being caught for eavesdropping.

Realisation hit Jimin when he realised that hidden shadow from earlier was none other than Y/N. A sigh of relief escaped his lips when he realised that it was no intruder but just Y/N.

"Oh he is just a friend. I called him up for some help" Jimin lightly shrugged off the matter.

Y/N nodded her head satisfied with the answer, not wanting to listen further.

The both sat in silence enjoying eachother's presence.

The sunshine hit the concrete roads heating up its surface whilst making the glass surfaces gloss under its touch.

Y/N strutted into the hospital after her two week break, and it felt good to be back. The intoxicating smell of medicine which nauseated many seemed to comfort her. Afterall, the getaway from her tough life was work.

Her heels clanked against the marble white floor which alerted others of the end of hiatus of the well known cardiologist. Nurses and doctors greeted her with pearly smiles, welcoming her back in the house. She reciprocated the gestures with a smile which had taken many by surprise.

She seemed to feel happy for the past few days and knowingly, unknowingly the credit went to Jimin who was currently somewhere in the hospital.

Surprisingly, after spending so much time with him, Y/N seemed to have developed a little liking towards the man but her stubborn self was yet to admit it. Thus, she gave this attraction the name of gratitude.

"Good morning Dr.L/N" Elena stood up as soon as she heard Y/N's heels.

Y/N greeted back with a small smile.

"How are you?" Y/N asked walking towards her.

"I'm fine doctor. Hope you are doing well too" Elena greeted back courteously.

Y/N simple nodded her head and entered the room. As soon as she stepped into it, dark brown haired man with a bouquet of roses had surprised her.

"Good morning Dr. Jung" She greeted back as soon as his smile hit her hazel eyes.

"Hello Dr.L/N, Welcome back" He said coming forward hugging her slightly which Y/N accepted somewhat uncomfortably.

"Thank you very much" She said with a chuckle.

"This is for you" He said handing over the flowers to her.

"Thank you once again" Y/N said taking a hold of the flowers, placing them on the table before taking a seat in her leather chair.

They began to chat with one another on different things, catching up with eachother.

Suddenly Hoseok stiffened up which went unnoticed by Y/N as she was busy typing away on her laptop.

"So Y/N, I have been meaning to ask this" He said with a sudden deep voice

"Yes?" Y/N asked not really paying attention thinking it's something random.

However, she was mistaken as the next question came like a sudden wind in a clear weather before a storm.

"Will you go out with me?"
