  " Good luck."

I turned to give her a smirk."Luck is for losers."

She slumped the camera that was hanged around her neck back to her chest."Yup, for losers like you."

" You are lame." I said not having a better reply at my disposal at the moment.

" So are you. Now shoo."

Saluting to Penn who in response just rolled her eyes to, I exited the car. My backpack bounced up and down, as I jogged to the nearby bush. I quickly planted an explosive.

When I saw them distracted, I moved to other bush. I patiently waited for the operation of entering the vault to launch. Like a hawk, I watched their constant pacing. The long thick bush hid my overly dressed body concealing me from the guards that moved from one side of the house to the other, darting their sharp eyes to all the angles of the scantly housed place.

Too bad for them but too good for me.

I smirked at the stern looking men, who glowered at everything their piercing eyes landed on.

Shouldn't they know by now that the night veils any imposter?

They could have used a night vision glasses, but no they just gwak like a trespasser would come out of the dark and give their hands to them. Not that I was complaining this worked out very good for me.

How is that each, and every one of them are men though? It is probably because that they thought women couldn't handle it. Just like every other male at Cube Camp. I would show them how capable and qualified women are.

I looked at my wrist watch. It was 12:59. One minute left for me to begin. The nervousness I had before was replaced by a rush of excitement. The same thrill I felt before every mission. I saw on standby ready to bounce at any given moment. I strained my eyes on my watch until the clock striked one.

Finally! I can't believe sixty seconds were that long.

I heard a whisper in the sensor of my ear.

" Go, Now!"

This was the command I have been waiting for. Wearing a black mask, I quickly pressed the red button and released. The explosive I set inside the bush blew up, shooting sparks red flame and some leaves up to the dark blow along with a loud blow that shook the ground. The two men that were guarding the house quickly ran over to the exploding bushes and this was my que to make a move.

I sprung out of the bushes, running to the cabin. I quickly reached over the window. Inserting a puffy knife between the frame and the sash I used my palms to press the sash upward, separating the window seal, widening the gap with fingers. With a final forceful nudge, the window rolled up.

Except the ray of red light that was criss-crossed into what looked like a tangled thread of devil's snare, it was pitch black and silent as a grave. As if someone would have their heads if they spoke inside it's polished walls. An invlountary shiver went down my spine.

In my attempt to study my invisible surrounding, my hands went further than I had intended to, pushing something in the process. I realized it was some kind of vase by the texture and the opened hole in the middle. Luckily, I caught it before it dropped on the floor and disrupt my plan.

Get it together lyra!

I quickly shoved my unoccupied hands inside my pocket, fishing out my vision glasses. Unlike someone, I have one. Putting the glasses on, I placed the vase in its rightful place.

Mafias decorate their hideout? How much money do they smuggle everyday to be this rich? I probably don't want to find out.

Everything inside the room became visible and blue accompained by the red rays that were aligned all over the spacious corridor, preventing an intruder from passing to the other side.

The wide corridor had passages that led to different exciting paths and death traps. But instead of dwelling on that, I made sure not to step on rays that could instigate my immediate death.

Slowly, I moved my right leg inside the gleam of death trap, but my shaking left ones were stuck in place. I have done this a thoushand times, but somehow this time it felt different.

As a terrifying memory shot through my brain, I recalled the loud sound of the gunshot that scared me for life. Eventhough, it was slient in here, I could hear the loud thudding of my heartbeat, constantly banging the walls of my chest. I squeezed my eyes shut, trying to keep my breath steady. It had been a place like this, dark and silent, but then abruptly bright and loud. I reached over my left leg and gave it a gentle squeeze.

I remembered what the doctor said. " Your mind might not cooperate with your body due to the shock, so when that happens you have to remind yourself that it is just in your mind that you can walk.'

It has been years since that horrible day, but there has not been a day that I don't remember her cold eyes as she shot me. It still clutched onto mind and body in a vice grip.

She really did wounded my soul enough to last this long.

I looked from side to side, checking my sides. I have become more suspicious too.

You can do this!

A few years ago, I would have believed it without any resistance, however now...

No! I won't let this stop me from doing my job! I can do anything.

Nodding, I squared my shoulders, stomping my left leg forcefully. I walked on my toes, not as gracious as a ballerina, but it will have to do. I passed by the last thread of threat. Sighing in relief, I glanced at the place to make sure that no one was there.

I saw two security cameras towering on either side.

" Penny?"

" Don't call me that!" She screeched in my ear. " And I already disabled it an hour ago." I winced at the invasion of her voice on my eardrum. Huffing, I removed the ear piece.

She really shouldn't be allowed to talk! It is like hearing Janice chant 'Chandler Bing! Chandler Bing!' in your ear.

" Where were you when I did that?"

" Probably, gwaking at the sunset like a girl who saw the aliens take over the planet." I smirked, imagining her rolling her eyes and a chuckle left my lips.

I quickly took out the blue print to see if I was in the right place. It says here that there would be a passage of some kind. I moved my head from left to right, but I couldn't see any passage.

Ugh! I don't have time for this!

I neared the blueprint in my hands closer to my wide eyes. It says here to move ahead then, I would find a passage. My fingers traced the surface, trying to locate my destination.

My eyes went further up and I saw the mark I had put in earlier so that I won't forget where to go. I grinned as I jabbed my hands to the marked point in trumiph. I almost thought I went to the wrong place.

I cautiously strode ahead, making sure that my steps aren't overheard. I found two oppositely aligned passages as the map had predicted. I tucked the map in my backpack, making an arc to the right passage. As I turned to the corner though, I noticed a door.

Maybe, this is it!

Excitement bubbled inside me as I reached for the handle of the door, but before I could proceed, I thought about what I had read about the man I am taking from.

He was rumored to always pay for the highest security staff(which I highly doubt these men are). But still he wouldn't leave it unguarded.

He wouldn't make it that easy.

My eyes darted further into the passage, and I noticed black figures.

Abandoning the room I was about to open, I walked straight ahead. The long narrow passage left little space to walk on. A little shift and I could bang myself against the wall. As I approached the door at the end of the passage, the figures became clearer. The two men stood guard at their post, walking in the same space from time to time.

This is it!

I swung the strong thick rope up the sealing and it stuck with a small thud. I pulled back the thick string to make sure that it was glued to it. Wrapping my legs around the string, I pulled my weight up. I continued doing this until I felt the sealing touch my head. I stretched my legs to each of the sound of the closely built ceiling's end and started moving.

The clueless men were looking around and back to the room.

Maybe try looking up, losers!

Smirking, I made my way slowly not to make a sound. When I was on top of their heads, I swung my leg in the air and kicked their heads with it. Since my motion was unexpected, they didn't try to prevent it. They passed out from the blow I gave their heads.

I snickered at one of them who had a gaping mouth. I was even tempted to stuff some inedible things in it, but there was always time for everything and pranking unconscious man in the middle of a deadly mission is too risky.

Now, I had to wait for Penn to tell me that the card in my hands won't be denied. I traced the edge of the card with my hands. My waiting didn't last long and she told me to try it. I slid the card down the ordinary looking door.

I must say whoever did this is one of the best at disgusing. The room looked ordinary and could easily be passed off as a janitor's closet. Mops and cleaning detergents were scattered everywhere.

I pushed their passed out bodies into the room, and closed the door behind me.

I whirled my head around, trying to find a safe or anything that a valuable thing could be kept in. I crossed half-way through the room, desperately trying to make it out of here before someone realizes that there was no one guarding the room

Stomping on the floor, I checked if there was any hallow sound. I went further until I was merely centimeters away from the wall. I slightly knocked on the wall with my knuckles.

A hollow thump echoed when my hands knocked on the further side of the wall. Faintly smiling, I quickly shot the wall with a sliencer gun. A shiny sliver safe glimmered in the pitch blue, inside the hole I made on the wall. I smiled to myself. Finally, after years I can complete it.

Is this what victory smells like? Well, if it is then I would never get enough of it. It certainly was intoxicating!

I could practically see Gary giving me a faint proud smile.
What am I thinking? He would never do that. I would be lucky if I got a pat on the shoulder.

The thought excited me even more as I stepped closer. Unhooking the lock opener device that was inside my backpack, I peered my hand through the opening.

After a few minutes, the safe fell open, revealing a file that I had waited so long to get my hands on. 'Top Secret' was stamped on the file with a scarlet ink. My hands tingled in anticpation as I picked up its light weight.

I frowned. For this I was punished like never before. For a piece of paper.

What kind of file is it that a mother(caring or not) sold her child and for people to guard it all day and night?

I desperately wanted to take a quick glance, but I had no time for that. I have to get out of here, and besides I have all the time in the world to examine it until I get back to the headquarters. All that matters is that I have got it. I placed it inside my backpack that was around my torso.

Before exiting the door, I planted another explosive. The passage was entirely slient, and I didn't not see any movement for a while. But as I paced to the end of the passge. I heard uneven footsteps and hush voices. Without sorting out my next move, I stuffed myself inside the room I had passed earlier. I softly closed the door. I walked backwards as I heard the footsteps grow louder.

An edge of a wooden thing made me lose my legs their balance. I didn't not have time to recover from the shock as my whole body fell backwards and I landed on the something comfortable and hard.

A muffled groan resonated. I thought it was me, but it was actually another person.

Crap! Was I caught?

No, I can't be!

My breath hitched as I turned around to look straight into an oddly familiar pair of dark chocolate eyes. It was puffy and red from being woken up by me.

"Wrttt!"

He was about to shout, but I quickly clamped my hands to his mouth, feeling his lips pressed hard against my hands. I silently pleaded with my eyes, but the idiot wriggled to get out of my hold, gripping my waist hard. I could feel the bruise forming already.

Oof, it hurt!

"Lttgoo." He wriggled underneath me.

Like hell I will!

Rolling my eyes, I banged his head to the headboard. As he passed out, his protest died.

The grip on my waist also loosened.

Thank God! I thought I would be squeezed to death!

I took my hands away from his face. I gasped when the realization of who he really is hit me from looking at his stoic apperance.

His eyes were half closed as his forhead was curtained by his black hair, contrasting with his pale skin.

This was Felix Salvatore! The son of the man I am stealing the file from! Well, not exactly stealing, because he stole it in the first place.

In a flash, I was out of the bed. I noticed it is a bedroom. An empty one. I frowned. There was only a bed, a table and a chair. If I didn't saw another person laying infront of me, I would have thought it was my bedroom.

The orphange never allowed us to keep personal belongings and the Cube Camp was much worse. Apparently, once you sign up to be a cube agent you don't own anything other than your name.

Why would Antonio Salvatore make his son sleep here right next to the safe house though?

Damn it! I didn't have time to find out!

Sighing, I sneaked a peak through the shatter of the window. The men were posted at their previous postion. I swiftly hit the red button and the security alarm blared through the place, sprinkling water to put out the fire. I took off my glasses that were covered in droplets of water, since they blurred my vision.

I was back to the swallowing darkness with a little bit of light of the moon filtering through the opening of the shattered blinds, making it tolerable to make out figures. As the men rushed to the house, I heard loud footsteps going to the room along yells of startled men.

" Anyone I should be worried about out there?" I whispered into the sensor of my hand.

" No, You are good to go."

As I tried to get out of through the window, something gripped me from behind. I turned around to see Felix Salvatore looking at me with his narrowed dark eyes. His face half hidden from the darkness, inside and half visible from the lights, outside.

" You!" His words were said through a clenched teeth as he blinked to keep the drops of water out of his eyes that were dripping from his midnight hair.

Oh crap!

Although the only part of me he could see were my eyes, I felt uncomfortable under his angry gaze; Something I didn't feel often.

A thought that he might know me crossed my mind and I took a few steps away from him.

Impossible! I was always disguised when I spied at the house a few days ago.

We stared at each other for a minutes, daring each other to make the next move.

Why wasn't he calling the guards?

Odd. Certainly Odd.

Maybe he is in shock. Nontheless, he might just snap out of it anytime soon.

" Lyra? Why are you not out? Are you okay?" Penn's soft but shocked voice snapped me out of the trance I was in and I kicked his muscular shoulders with my right leg. With a pained groan, he instantly fell on the floor, hard.

And they say a girl can't fight as good as a boy?

Ha! Tell that to the boy who is smooching the floor!

I swiftly got out and ran to the black car, smiling at my success. I mean sure there was slight problem that goes by the name Felix, but I took care of it and now I have the file.

I got in to the black minvan, grinning from ear to ear which is a rare thing for me these days.

" You got it?" Penn asked smiling, probably knowing the answer.

Nodding, I reached for the backpack that was holding the file, but when my hands reached it. There was nothing. Frowning, I turned the hook around to find that my back was gone.

Oh, double crap!
