Chapter 6

My eyes blurred over with tears as I began to think whether I should go or not. I decided on going only because I wanted to get as far away from the pizzeria as I could. I quickly began to pack a suitcase with all the necessities. I scribbled a note and put it on my pillow, grabbed my pull-along purple suitcase, my phone and my earphones. I heard arguing and shouting downstairs so I knew I would be able to slip passed them. I grabbed my keys, through my wallet, earphones and phone into my purse, discreetly made my suitcase invisible, just in case, and set off downstairs.

No one seemed to notice me as I crept out of the door, closing it behind me. "Here we go." I took a deep breath and set off to my car.

Aphmau's P.O.V

I took one glance towards the house, half expecting someone to come out after me. I sat there, not doing anything, just staring at the house for at least five minutes. 'They're really not coming...' I stepped out of my car and just stood in front of the closed front door. I took a sharp breath to stop myself from crying. I threw a stone at the window before getting back into my car with a sad smile. I saw everyone slowly pile out of the house and I started up my engine.

"Thanks for everything," I said to myself before blowing my hot breath onto the cold window. In the steamy mess, I drew a heart. All eyes were on my car as I smiled sadly once more. I waved to them and mouthed a few words and then drove out of the driveway and onto the road. I only looked back once and all I saw was Aaron in a break down on tears.

'I'll miss him...' Was my final thought.

Katelyn's P.O.V

"Aphmau..." Aaron was repeatedly mumbling in a flurry of tears. Why would she just leave like that?

"Where's Aphmau-Senpai going, Katelyn-Sama?" Kawaii-Chan asked, trying to stay as cheerful as possible.

"I have no idea," I kept my answer short and blunt. Slowly, as her car drove out of our sight, we began to walk back inside. Aaron ran up to their bedroom, breathing heavily. I had to hold everyone back from following him; he needs time to himself.

3rd person

As Aaron climbed the stairs of their house, he broke down the moment he reached the bedroom. Tears stained his red shirt, deepening the colour wherever they landed. Suddenly, out of the corner of his eye, he spied a crumbled piece of paper on Aphmau's side of the bed. He stood up, wiped his watering eyes and picked it up and uncrumpled it.

As Aphmau drove peacefully along the busy motorway, Aaron read the note out loud, unaware of the group of people stood behind him.

Dear whoever sees this first.

Please understand that this wasn't/isn't my fault - this is for the safety of everyone. I'll miss you all, so much, and I should be back soon.

There was a scribbled out word after 'soon'. 'Strange,' Aaron thought as he continued to read.

Please don't worry about me, I'll be fine, that's a promise.

Oh, there's no use trying to text or phone me, I won't have any service. And, please don't tell my

Another scribble.

Mother, I don't want to worry her.

Anyways, with love, ~Aphmau Jessica Phoenix.

Aaron's eyes glasses over with more tears; his girlfriend left and this is all she left with. Not even a proper goodbye. Everyone behind of him gasped in surprise: this is the first time anyone had ever seen or heard Aphmau's middle and last name. She always refused to tell anyone, and so did Sylvannah. Aphmau was having a hard time driving, considering that the note was full of lies.

"I should be back soon," - Lie.

"Don't worry about me, I'll be fine," - Lie.

"I won't have any service," - Lie.

"Aphmau Jessica Phoenix," - Lie.

Aphmau's P.O.V

I drove up to my old apartment block in Phoenix City, she had someone who lived there with them. Claire. Ever since the incident, the building owners said that we can always use the carpark, building etc. whenever we need. The building manager is a nice man. I parked my car and got out, the middle school isn't too far away from here.

I began the short walk to my old kindergarten. I haven't been in the city for a while, not much has changed. Despite it being a city, the air always smelt fresh and clean. The faint sound of buzzing car engines and chirping birds makes it sound like home. I smiled to myself during the walk. After a few more moment of walking, I found the kindergarten - or at least what's left of it. The once bright and colourful place was now rotting away in colours of greys and blacks and ugly greens. It smelt of rotting wood and there was no longer any birds flying into the nearby trees, creating that lovely morning melody.

"What happened here?" I mumbled slowly to myself, choking back tears. I was scared for an answer. Gulping, I pushed myself forwards, onto my middle school. It came as a relief to see that it was still intact. I decided to take a detour. I directed myself to the front office of the school and walked in. "Hello," I waved to the receptionist; the same one from when I went here.

"A-Aphmau?" Mrs Myers choked out and I giggled, nodding.

"The one and only." She reached over and pulled me into a hug.

"You haven't changed one bit!" She squealed, tightening her hug. I fake choked and she let go with a laugh. "You could say that..." I mumbled darkly to myself.

"What was that, love?"

"Uh, nothing," I waved my hand a bit. "But I really should be off, meeting up with the SkyArmy again," I smiled. We were famous all over the school, even the teachers knew about us. "I'll try and come back before the end of the week. See you!" With an exchanged smile, I left the school and began to skip down the sidewalk. Lost in my thoughts and daydreams, I hadn't realised that I was at the park. That was, until - CRASH!

I stood up, rubbing my forehead, awkwardly laughing. "I am so, so, s--," My sorries were cut off by a soft chuckle.

"It's alright."
