"Hey."
"Hi."
Grant and Rey stood at the entrance to her apartment, the female gripping tightly onto the knob of her door as she stared down the very man who she could possibly share a connection with for the rest of her life. Her heart felt like it was hammering desperately against her ribcage, just waiting to be set free as the nerves continued to gain inside her body.
A million different actions wanted to occur in the moment as the situation became very real. Her stomach felt like it was going to flip and throw the contents of her lunch up. That wasn't a very good sign considering their situation.
The male in the moment looked tensed as well, there was small droplets of sweat on his forehead where it seemed he had ran the entire way to her home when in reality he was really stressed over the dilemma. Truth be told Grant hadn't gotten much sleep since the night it all had occurred. He could recall waking up with his mind throbbing and mouth parched as regret for all the alcohol immediately loomed over him. The smell of tequila and vodka was predominant as his eyes had open, strong enough to have his stomach doing flips in disgust. His eyes had crinkled in annoyance, immediately flipping over to dig his face into the neighboring pillow when suddenly he caught an entirely different scent. It was coconut, a rich coconut that he had only ever smelled on one person.
Reyna.
His eyes had sprung open then, flashbacks of the prior night immediately flickering through his entire cranium as he remembers her soft lips and silky skin. His mind entranced with the memory, amazed that the girl of his dreams had actually been with him even if both of them had been inebriated beyond belief. It actually did feel like a dream considering the very last memory he could remember was wrapping his arm around the girl, her long locks spilled across the white bedsheets as they had fallen to sleep and waking up to see not a trace of her in sight. His fingers find her side of the bed empty with only a small bit of warmth left.
Now a few days later he stood in front of her once more, eyes flashing back to those moments in the past and just imagining her smiling as carefree as she had.
Now the girl seemed to be split between crying or passing out.
He didn't know what to do, hell or if he could do anything so he just stood there cluelessly. That is until she stepped forward and wrapped her arms around his midsection.
She was tiny, Grant had never noticed this before but now it only seemed to attract him further to her. The girl was so short the top of her head only reached the middle of his chest, her small arms tightly pulling him in closer as Grant immediately reciprocated the action. One of his palms reaching upwards to stroke her hair as she took long breaths.
"I'm scared." She admitted, her body trembling slightly. She hadn't felt this fear of the unknown in such a long time, it terrified her further.
"I know, I am too." Grant answered softly, pulling away softly to hold her face in his large palms.
He hadn't ever seen her so natural. Rey was beautiful, of course she was but there was something about seeing her with nothing but emotions across her face that made his heart warm.
"We need to talk." Rey breathed, clasping her palm with his and pulling him inside her apartment before anyone could see them. Immediately the man was bombarded by Hercules who began jumping on him and barking for attention although both barely payed the pup attention as they were far too invested in what was going on in their heads.
Grant followed her, watching as she locked the door and then pulled him to the white couch in the middle of the room, her legs immediately pulling up to tuck into the small blanket she had once been under. The green eyed man sitting as close to her as possible seeing as how her hand was still tightly gripping his own. The small dog jumping into her lap almost instantly as it began to adjust itself comfortably when the girl rubbed his head.
He watched her fidget around a little, her soft brown blanket spilling across his own black jeans before she spoke up. Brown eyes locking with his own emerald ones as her pink lips parted. "What the fuck are we going to do."
Grant debated whether shrugging his shoulders was the right option at the moment and considering the severity of the situation he decided it probably wasn't, so instead he drew out a large breath and shook his head. "Well we have to wait for you to be able to take a pregnancy test."
"And you didn't find a condom anywhere in your room?" The girl questioned with a raised brow, immediately pulling in her plump bottom lip so she could bite it. She was hoping his answer had changed since the last time they had spoken and this whole situation could be put behind them.
Unfortunately Grant shook his head from side to side. "Unless I plucked it out the window like a sling shot nope."
"Fucking shit." Was her immediate reaction. Her head falling against his shoulder as the grip between their hands intensified.
Grant decided it was now best to shrug, "what now?"
"We wait until I can take a pregnancy and prepare for Armageddon." Rey retorted with a blunt tone. "I prep myself for the longest hair and ear pull my abuela will conjure."
"What about me?" He questioned amused.
"Your trio hold onto hope that castration is illegal in Vancouver and sleep with one eye." Rey answered, patting his jeans.
"Might as well get all the use I can then? Want to make double sure we signed our death papers?" Grant answered, a small smile adorning his lips.
Rey lifted her head off his shoulders, turning to look directly at him with the ghost of a smile on her lips. "Grant, be real. What the fuck are we going to do if I am pregnant."
The smile left his lips immediately, Rey fearing the worst as she expected him to say something that would deflate any hope she had left for the boy. Talking about sex and hookups was fine, but these situations were of a much more serious matter, one of which she had no clue if he was ready for.
Grant pursed his lips, "do you want to keep it?"
"Yes. If it's true then I don't see how I could ever do something to a child." She answered truthfully. Honestly she had already thought this over with herself and regardless of grant wanting to be involved or not she would be keeping the child.
"Alright then. I'm with you." Grant answered. "You want in or out I'll do whatever you want."
His words were enough to have the girl setting her dog down and twisting her body around to stare at him. Rey pulled him in for a soft kiss, unexpectedly to both parties but thoroughly enjoyed as the chaste kiss lasted before she pulled away. The female licked her lips and sighed, patting their foreheads together. "You know if this is true, it isn't going to be easy."
"I know, but you and I can do this." Grant answered.
"We barely know one another. I haven't met your parents, you haven't met my grandmother or Hercules." Rey listed off. "I just... I don't want us to get in over our heads."
"Hey. We are going to be okay." Grant reassured the girl. "Listen, we will figure this out."
Rey sighed, not at all convinced that two people who barely knew one another would be able to do this. Yet, she looked at Grant and understood the hope he had. They hadn't ever been on a date, barely actually had some quality time and yet she hadn't ever felt more comforted not even with Dax.
"We will try." She nodded her head.
Grant nodded, kissing the top of her head. "Besides, you still might not be."
"Yeah, you're right." She nodded, a comfortable silence filling the room.
Grant lifted his arm suddenly, catching the clock as he realized dark would soon envelop the city. "I should be going, it's getting late and I probably still need to get some dinner in me."
Rey felt her mood deflate at his words, it's not that she wanted him to stay but more like she needed his comfort. He was the only one stuck in the situation with her and out of the two of them the optimist. She couldn't keep running around the horrible scenarios in her head.
"Stay?" Rey spoke, biting her bottom lip in embarrassment when Grant snapped his head to look at her. "We can order some Chinese or something, watch some tv. No funny stuff... its just nice to have someone here."
Grant nodded his head, feeling elated at her words. "I don't have any pajamas so you might have to sleep with me nude."
Rey rolled her eyes at his teasing, standing as she stretched. "I have one of your sweatshirt and boxers that I washed, I was just gonna keep them."
"You took my boxers?" He questioned.
"Yes. I wasn't going to walk around commando. I may have slept with you but I'm not that daring."
IF YOU'RE GOING TO COMMENT IT WOULD BE NICE TO SEE SOMETHING OTHER THEN UPDATE
