Chapter Two: Every Kiss Begins with Katsuki

Bakugo and Kaminari finally get together and go on their first date~

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
They were now in their third year and were in the middle of internships~
Kaminari had a brand new costume made, his final design was by far the best one he could have come up with. It was a one piece, white bodysuit with a deep V-neck and no sleeves. A golden lightning pattern trimmed the side hems of the costume, all the way down to matching golden boots. He wore a matching golden belt that had basic first aid. His gloves were white on the hands and equipped with special defibrillators on the palms. From the wrist to his elbow, they were gold, and had been heavily equipped with taser ribbons so he could directly shock people at a great distance. The taser ribbons also acted as capture weapons or transportation if Denki wished to swing around on them, copying Sero's technique.
He had a golden choker made as well, with a tracker inside that could only be disarmed if he took it off. He had a golden cape that loosely draped over his shoulders and stopped right above the small of his back, the metallic fabric made from electric-resistant fibers. Every aspect of his golden boots were flat, so it left no imprint. The bottoms of the boots also had defibrillators, which allowed Denki to mindlessly transfer electricity up and down his body. His hair had also grown past his shoulders, so now he keeps his hair in a half up half down do, with only his bangs being in his face. Finishing his look were none other than his trusty blue glasses, upgraded to detect heat, calculate how much voltage he's used, amongst other things.
He was out on patrol with a first-year, an adorable, American girl named Rita with a powerful weather quirk, when a villain began attacking. She had some sort of water manipulation quirk and was causing destruction by blowing any faucet or hydrant she could for ammo. She would morph water into ice cicles and play darts at cars, or really anything she wanted to target. The streets flooded with panic as the villain wreaked havoc on the surroundings. Denki took charge immediately, waving his arm to the side to stop Rita from intervening. If she had, she may have accidentally supplied the villain with more ammo by causing it to rain.
"Stormy! Evacuate all civilians! I'll pursue the villain! Do you copy?!"
"Yes, Kami-senpai!" After making sure Rita was out of range from any attacks and doing as instructed, Denki placed a finger on the side of his glasses, triggering his radio.
"This is Chargebolt, we are at the city center of the Kyozai District! Villain appears to have a hydrokinesis quirk! Civilians are currently evacuating with first-year Rita Gid, otherwise known as Weather Hero: Stormy! I'm requesting back up!"
"We hear you, Chargebolt, sending reinforcements out now!"
Denki then went about trying to apprehend the villain, using his taser ropes to swing around the city. Sero would often joke they were both knock-off Spiderman's now, which in all honesty isn't too far off. He hoped that he'd get to see Sero soon; they hadn't hung out for a while after everything that had happened in the later half of their second year.
Persistence as the villain was, water and electricity don't mix. He had to make sure no civilian or hero was around when he attacked her, but she always managed to deflect. He settled on simply chasing her to somewhere outside the city limits, this way he could use his maximum strength. He had finally caught up to her as she sent a thread of water his way. Electric waves danced around him as he charged up his body. He had noticed she kept water around her at all times, he hoped if he sent a wave of electricity through one stream that it would all connect and he'd stun her.
"Buzz Body Defense!" As soon as the water hit his body, electricity shot through all the water tendrils and stunned the villain. He ran up to her twitching body to make sure she had a pulse before going away to radio HQ. The moment he stepped behind some debris, her body began to move, her eyes narrow with disdain, "this is Chargebolt, I'm at the junction of Templio Way and Junward Road, requesting detainment vehicles and quirk cuffs,"
"We read you, Chargebolt,"
Terrified screams echoed close by and Denki ran, noticing quickly that the villain had gotten up. More screams bounced off the empty streets, forcing Denki to snap into action. Using his trained ears, he deduced the location of the noise and made his way quickly over. The scene was horrifying as he came upon a group of heroes. Nobody had a pulse: Bakugo, Kirishima, Sero, Rita, Midoriya, Momo, Iida, Shishida, Shinso, Monoma, Shiozake, Pony, and Testutestu all laid there dead. Denki looked around and began to map out his strategy to save them.
"The villain has escaped, I repeat, villain has escaped. We have thirteen heroes down! Requesting ambulances and EMTs, reading no pulse on any victim. Attempting electric shock," Denki took a few deep breaths before setting his taser ropes out, making sure all his fellow heroes were attached to one before letting loose his electricity. His glasses flashed as pulses began to pop up, letting him know they were all ok, "Electric shock successful! I used my electricity to resuscitate the heroes, still requesting ambulances for follow ups. I am in pursuit of the villain,"
Denki used his glasses to see if he could get a read, when a flash of heat made itself known. Denki continued to follow it, but as swift and quick as he was, he was still a little behind. They had finally made their way to some warehouse facility, where Denki was able to corner the villain. Though not in sight, he knew she had to be in the empty warehouse. He kept his guard up, his senses tingling with anticipation as he waited for her to pop out.
He couldn't let out his final attack, he didn't know if there were explosives or electric conductors in this warehouse. As much as he wanted to get this villain, he didn't want to go down with the ship. He knew that being alone was dangerous, so he quickly tugged his choker, sending his location to any hero in a ten mile radius. That's when he felt his body constrict and he couldn't move a muscle even if he wanted to.
"You're fast, I'll give you that. But, now, you can't move a single muscle. I thought I ended those other heroes rather quickly, but you managed to save them just like that. It's almost sad that I'm about to end your life. However, I think squeezing your heart, like what I did to the others, is such a mundane way to end the only hero who managed to find me. Let me see," she giggled and snapped her fingers, "oh~ I know! I'll turn you into a beautiful sculpture, I'll freeze you from the inside out, and make you die all pretty~"
His mind went blank and he felt his insides go cold, literally. His organs began to freeze and ice was entrapting his heart and lungs. She posed him, making him kneel and reach out his hand in a cupping motion, as if he was begging for food or coins. His breath began to show as his lungs finally froze over, suffocating him in ice as his vision went black.
When his eyes opened up, he saw he was in the hospital. He was hooked up to all sorts of machines, his body was sore, and he felt so incredibly cold. He tried to sit up, but groaned in pain as he clutched his chest. Taking a few more deep breaths, he tried again, this time succeeding. He managed to snag the remote for the bed, making the back part go up so he could sit up without effort. When it was finally in place, he leaned back and panted a few times. Natsuo, in all his white haired glory, came in at the moment. He nearly jumped when he noticed Denki was awake.
"Thank God you finally woke up," Natsuo went to his bedside and began taking his vitals, smiling as he did so, "I was beginning to worry you still needed some serious thawing, but everything seems ok. You're breathing is a bit shallow, but your organs are still defrosting,"
Denki smiled as Natsuo took some notes and continued the check up. The older Todoroki was such an awesome nurse, Denki always requested him if he needed a check up at Central Hospital.
"How is your wife? Is she still running the flower shop in Mokai?" Natsuo nodded.
"You ask about my wife more than anyone I know, ya know that?" Natsuo and Denki both chuckled and he shrugged.
"Color me a curious guy," he then sighed, "I take it, since you're my nurse, that I'm in Central Hospital,"
"Yep, I'm not in my normal ward though. But, ever since Fuyumi nearly lost the baby due to negligence, Shoto is insistent on me being the nurse for anybody he cares for,"
"Man, I forgot Shoto and you are uncles now!"
"Yeah, she named the little thing Touya," Natsuo sighed, "if only that battle had gone differently, if only I did more in our youth,"
"Some villains just couldn't be saved, it's not your fault. Even if you did something, back then, I don't think it would've changed him. He died hating Endeavor and the fact his 'death' didn't change his ways. I have zero doubts that he loved you till his last breath, and everybody else aside from Endeavor would always have a special place in his heart. That's as nice as it could've gotten with how far he'd gone. I don't even think Recovery Girl could have spared his body from ashes. You just need to keep going and who knows, you may have a family of your own some day soon!"
Natsuo smiled fondly at Denki, petting his head in a brotherly fashion.
"You are the only person who can make my family trauma something to smile about. No wonder Shoto is so protective of you. You should have seen him coming into the hospital, I don't think I've ever seen him like that. I don't even know the right word, he was clearly agitated, but didn't raise his tone. He just demanded that I be your nurse, and his aura was so heavy they listened," Denki chuckled as Natsuo finished typing in his findings.
"I think he began liking me when I introduced him to meme culture. It's still a huge staple in our friendship, he'll send them so randomly that I often get blindsided by his sense of humor. Anyway, what do you think my condition is?"
"Doc will probably want to keep you for observation for a few days, make sure everything is fully defrosted before sending you back out. I'm going to get going, this is around the time Bakugo comes to see you,"
Denki's eyes widened at that.
"Kacchan comes to see me?"
"Every...fucking...day! Since you got admitted, Denki, he's been here. That table is completely filled with gifts from him, but you didn't hear that from me. If I didn't know any better, I'd say he had a crush on you~" Natsuo winked and shut the door, leaving Denki a blushing mess. Natsuo was right, not even five minutes later Bakugo strolled in with a bouquet of daisies, not even realizing Denki was looking at him until he shut the door and turned around.
"Hey, Kacchan~ Those flowers for me~ How thoughtful~" he teased and winked.
Bakugo's eyes widened as he dropped the bouquet, his mind seeming to freeze. Ironic, when one would consider the circumstances. Denki chuckled, not feeling the tension just yet.
"D-Denki, are you really awake?" he whispered. Denki tilted his head like a puppy, giving him a sly smile and arched brow.
"No, you're dreaming," Denki joked. Katsuki looked at his shaking hands, lifting his right one and biting down hard. The action made Denki jump, "what the fuck?! Katsuki, what the hell are you doing?!"
"I'm waking up," his voice was so quiet it made Denki finally realize the gravity of Bakugo's feelings. His tongue felt heavy as he gazed at the ashen blonde man he had spent the last three years with. A part of him was thrilled that Bakugo cared enough, another was guilty of making a joke of what was no doubt something scary. Deep down, Denki knew he meant something to Bakugo, it was obvious with how he acted.
When he fed his squad, he took extra care of Denki's food since he was the smallest, even smaller than Mina. He was patient with him when he tutored him, especially after learning about his ADHD. He had learned seizure protocol before it was taught after Denki seized in front of him. And probably the most notable was when he had been called to the front lines in the first war. He remembered seeing Bakugo look uninterested about who was going to lead the charge until Kaminari was called. His gaze was quickly fixed at Denki and his posture was instantly straight, his facial expression said it all. He could remember as he was walking towards his regiment, Bakugo screamed and told off the head of the hero commission, stating that as capable as his classmates were, children didn't belong on the front lines. It was a popular opinion amongst a lot of pros, so Bakugo was not alone. However, only Bakugo had the gall to disrespect the hero commission by questioning their strategy.
Denki's heart swelled, thinking back to all the times Bakugo had been so caring to him. His gruff demeanor and loud personality were easy to spot, but deep down, Bakugo cared a lot. Hell, when he was hospitalized after getting whacked by Compress' debris, he was Bakugo's second stop. The first was Midoriya, but that was obvious given what had gone on during the war. Denki's heart suddenly felt all too warm as he waved his hands, trying to distract Bakugo from chomping down on his left hand.
"I was joking, Kat! Holy shit! I'm really awake, you aren't dreaming!" Bakugo looked at his bleeding hand and then back at Denki. His face was contorted with an unknown expression, until finally Bakugo snarled and ran up to Denki's bed. He collapsed to his knees and cried, clutching Denki in his muscular arms as he wept. It was so out of character for Bakugo to cry, let alone full blown sob. Denki gently hugged him back, hooking his arms upward and clasping his hands on Bakugo's shoulders.
"How...fucking dare you scare me like that," his voice was still a whisper, it scared Denki how quiet it was, "how dare you save my life and then nearly die on me like that?!" Bakugo clutched tighter, his voice raising, "do you know what happened to you?! You dumbfuck?!" there was the screaming he was so used to.
"I don't, I just keep hearing that my insides need to defrost," Denki explained. Bakugo's heaving breath became erratic.
"That bitch froze you, Denki! She took the water in your body and turned it to ice! When everybody finally got to you, you were still as a statue with frost covering every part of your body! I tried to move you but Momo stopped me, which I'm glad she did now! She said that if you had been frozen, that I couldn't move you! That if I tried, I could have broken something! What if I broke off your arms, or twisted your legs, or shattered one of your organs?! Oh God, I was terrified! Shoto and Endeavor ended up putting you in a chamber and surrounded you with fire! It took you a week to defrost and you've been comatose for nearly two weeks! It's been nearly a month since you've been up!"
"A month?!" Denki tried to get up, "fuck! I was already so behind on school work! Dad is gonna kill me!"
"Are you kidding?!" Bakugo shouted, "Aizawa has been worried sick! The first time I came to visit you in the hospital, he was already here. He was sobbing, Denki, a blubbering mess as he held your hand! He was begging you to wake up, apologizing for being a negligent father! I was in the same boat as him, so we both cried together,"
Bakugo's frown was quickly turning into a smirk as he retold Denki what happened. After all, it wasn't often one could find THEE Aizawa Shouta, aka Eraserhead, cry. Sure, the circumstances were awful and took an emotional toll on both of them, but Bakugo and Aizawa would always be a little closer because of that day. Denki, who was happy to see the ashen blonde smile, smiled back.
"There is that stupidly sadastic smirk I love," his mouth moved before his mind could catch up, and suddenly Bakugo was quiet. The smirk dropped momentarily as his word choice quickly registered in Denki's head and his face turned a crimson red, "wait, I-"
"I love you too, sparkplug," he gently hugged Denki, nuzzling his neck with his neck, "I love you so much that it fucking hurts. And, God, I'm so fucking pathetic. I haven't been able to sleep or eat or train since nearly losing you. My grades actually suffered because of what happened. I slipped down to third place, like in our first year, everybody seems to be in shock about how distraught and distracted I've been," Denki giggled and rubbed Bakugo's head.
"Well, then allow me to take you on a date to call it even," Bakugo chuckled.
"I'd rather you be my boyfriend, then I could take you on a date," Denki pretended to think before shrugging.
"I guess you win, Kacchan. Now, hop onto the bed and cuddle me. You're warm and I'm still defrosting," Bakugo hopped to the side with no wires and instantly cuddled Denki close, holding him in his muscular arms.
Bakugo had said to dress nice for their date, that the place they were going to was one of the best money could buy. Now, don't get Denki wrong, he loved being spoiled, especially if it was Bakugo who was spoiling him. But, this was their first date and he felt like it was wrong to be that pampered when the two hadn't even kissed yet. Nonetheless, he obeyed him and dressed in a navy dress shirt, white slacks, and black oxfords. He put his hair in an updo, leaving his bangs out, and putting on a silver watch. He hummed as he put on some lip gloss, giving himself a once over before snatching his wallet and heading downstairs. Everybody was in the living room, watching a movie like they did every Saturday night.
"You jerks! You know Princess and the Frog is my favorite!" Denki puffed out his cheeks and crossed his arms. The four looked over, Shinso and Aizawa smirking while Mic and Eri's eyes sparkled.
"Denki-nii, you look amazing!" Eri and Mic both got up, forcing Aizawa to pause the movie. Mic gently brushed a few stray hairs from Denki's face, smiling at him.
"You look great, my little listener! Papa is sooo happy for you!" Mic hugged him tightly and kissed his cheek, making Denki and Eri laugh.
"Papa! I'm not a little kid! I'm your oldest, after all!"
"That doesn't change a thing! You'll still be my little listener, all of you will!" Mic gently rubbed Eri's head and gave Denki a pec on the temple, hugging him some more. That's about when the doorbell rang and Shinso had shot up from his spot on the couch to get it. Denki patted his pockets and gasped.
"Oh crap, I forgot my phone, be right back!" As he dashed up the stairs, he turned around and glared at Shinso and Aizawa, "and Dad, don't threaten him. You too, Hitoshi!" He then ran back out of sight. It was a quick second, but he could hear that his dad and brother did not listen to him. Not that he had expected them to, but he could wish, right?
"I swear on all that is good in this world, Bakugo, if you break my son's heart I will break your damn kneecaps,"
"I second that, Bakugo. I will brainwash you into a woodchipper if you hurt him,"
"Boys, now let's be nice~" Mic smiled and led Bakugo away. Denki held his mouth, he knew Mic was actually ten times worse than Aizawa and Shinso combined.
"Thank you, Mic-sensei," he heard Bakugo breath out in relief. Denki shook his head, if people really think Aizawa is the scary parent, they need to meet an overprotective or angry Papa Mic.
"No problem, Bakugo, but," he got into Bakugo's face with a sick smile, "I will shatter anything left of those eardrums if you so much as hurt a pore on his skin. And I'll laugh as I watch your ears bleed while Hitoshi and Shouta finish you off, I don't play when it comes to my babies. Do you understand?" Bakugo was shaking in fear and gulped, nodding rapidly.
"Yes s-sir," he squeaked out. Denki finally thought enough was enough and came running down, acting chipper as ever, it was like he didn't just hear all the guys in his family threaten his boyfriend's life.
"Hey, Kacchan~" Denki teased as he jumped into a hug. Bakugo caught him, holding his waist and giving him a squeeze. Bakugo smiled and nuzzled his chest, a lovestruck look glittering in his eyes. Denki should've taken a picture, nobody would believe him if he told them about this adorable, puppy-eyed Bakugo.
"Hey, Denki, ready to go now?" Bakugo gently put him down. Denki merely nodded and held his hand, intertwining their fingers. Bakugo blushed a bit but smiled softly, his eyes sparkling more as he led Denki to the door.
"See you guys tomorrow morning, and Eri, make sure to sing extra loud for me!" he smirked as he noticed Aizawa and Shinso groaning, Mic chuckling into a closed fist, and Eri nodding her head.
"Be safe, Denki-nii!" Bakugo shut the door behind them and instantly snagged his waist, smirking as they began walking off the porch. His hand was slowly moving down when~
"ARE YOU SERIOUS?!" Bakugo and Denki both jumped. They looked back at the doorbell camera, "NOT EVEN A MINUTE INTO THIS DATE AND YOUR TRYING TO GRAB MY SON'S ASS, REALLY BAKUGO?! HANDS ABOVE THE BELTLINE AND KEEP THEM THERE!!!" Aizawa's voice screeched from the doorbell camera.
Bakugo instantly took his hand off of Denki and put them up in the air. Denki laughed as the two finally got off the pathway and to the driveway, where Bakugo's black Mercedes had been parked. Denki couldn't tell you which coupe-model it was, all he knew was that it was a custom built car that cost his family nearly 85K, or over ten million yen. Bakugo came from wealth, much like Denki. But Denki's wealth was in the bank gathering interest so he could splurge on his future agency, wedding, house, kids, grandkids, ya know all that stuff.
Bakugo opened the door for him and helped him get inside, trying to be a gentleman. Denki glanced at him and giggled, biting his lower lip and winking. Bakugo was looking around and sweating purposely, but managed a smile in case Aizawa had more cameras.
"Don't tease me, I like living," Bakugo whispered. Denki laughed into his hand when Bakugo looked around again.
"He has a camera in the bushes, on the corners of the house, and one on the mailbox. Now, quit looking, you'll make it seem like you want to do something naughty," Bakugo choked on his spit, which made Denki laugh more. Once he was sure Denki was comfortable, Bakugo shut the door and made his way to the driver's side. Bakugo got in and started the engine, also buckling up. Denki smirked and connected his phone to the AUX.
"Fuck my life," the normally angry blonde groaned before TEMPO by Lizzo blasted through his speakers.
"SLOW SONGS THEY FOR SKINNY HOES! CAN'T MOVE ALL OF THIS HERE TO ONE OF THOSE! I'M A THICK BITCH, I NEED TEMPO! FUCK IT UP TO THE TEMPO! I KNOW MINA TAUGHT YOU WELL KATSUKI, SING WITH ME!!!"
Bakugo rolled his eyes but smirked, padding his fingers on the wheel and bobbing his head.
"Pitty-pat, pitty-pat, pitty-pitty-pat. Look at my ass, it's fitty-fitty-fat. Kitty cat, kitty cat, kitty-kitty cat. Prrr me a glass, boy, I like my water wet~"
"YAS KACCHAN! THROW IT BACK~"
"Catch that~"
"I NEED A JACK~"
"For all of this ass, but it won't go flat~"
The two laughed and continued to sing all the way to the bistro. Bakugo seemed to really enjoy the ride, continuously watching Denki dance in the passenger seat. The energy seemed so vibrant, the aura warm, and Bakugo couldn't tell if his heart was about to stop beating or beating too fast. As they pulled up to the restaurant, Denki noticed it was virtually impossible to get in from the common streets. It was perched on a hill top and overlooked the city, something Denki appreciated.
He recognized the name of the place from some hero magazine he had read while on one of his many visitor trips to the hospital after a battle went awry. 'La Nova' was a very expensive and very private restaurant that many big time celebrities and heroes would go to. Normally, you needed to reserve a table months in advance, but here they were basically just strolling in. As Katsuki parked the car, Denki could feel his nerves twitch. Being in such a high profile place scared him, despite having grown up dining like that every so often. Bakugo noticed it immediately and quickly went into the center console, pulling out a fidget cube.
"Katsuki, did you just have that in the car?" he nodded and placed it in Denki's palm.
"I know you like the clicker parts, so just keep clicking the switch. Everything will be ok, my mom knows the owner and set us up," Bakugo smiled at Denki, who smiled back. The two got out and held hands as they made their way to the front doors. The glamor of the restaurant was breathtaking, the decor made of crystal glittering against all the quartz and marble. It seemed as if the two had stepped into Heaven with how pristine and clean everything was. They both looked at the host, who seemed to be eyeing them up.
"May I help you, sirs?" His voice seemed rather snobbish. To his credit, not only were they coming last minute, but they weren't dressed as formal as others. The elderly host didn't seem to like them, Denki could tell just by his eyes. There was distaste and disdain dripping like poison in his authoritative tone, but Bakugo either chose to ignore it or failed to pick up on it as he kept smiling at Denki.
"We have a reservation, it's under Bakugo," the host didn't seem to believe it as he rolled his eyes, looking at the list on his podium. There was a brash sigh as he most likely saw the name, nodding and grabbing the menus.
"Follow me," he spoke sharply and began walking away. Denki felt a bit more nervous and clicked the switch side of the fidget cube rapidly in his palm, as to minimize noise. He noticed how all the eyes were trained on them, as if they had disturbed something sacred. They were put in a circular booth in the corner, allowing them to finally relax for a bit. Denki leaned against Bakugo and kept clicking his cube.
"Was it me, or was he a little mean?" he whispered. The whole atmosphere was quiet, aside from some piano music playing in the background. It hadn't been like this a minute ago, quiet conversation and the sounds of dining had filled the atmosphere before they had been shown to their table. Now, it seems everything was silent.
"He definitely thinks there was a mistake," Bakugo gently placed an arm around Denki's shoulder, bringing him closer.
"Some could even say, a glitch in the system," Denki joked quietly, making Katsuki and he both chuckle.
"Dork, it could also be the fact that we could be the great grandkids of nearly everyone here," Bakugo and Denki looked around briefly, noting just how old everybody was. There were maybe a few middle-aged couples, but not many.
"With the way they're staring, we're more like the bastard grandchild that screwed up the arranged marriage," Denki retorted, looking back at the menu as to try to avoid eye contact with the many unwelcoming gazes thrusted onto them. The sound of dining and distant conversation seemed to slowly flow back into the atmosphere again. However, Denki did not miss the glares he and Bakugo were receiving from elderly customers or the staff. Bakugo tugged him a bit closer and opened a menu, kissing his temple.
"Let's just get our order set up, this way we can prove we belong here alongside these snobby geezers," Denki chuckled at Bakugo's language and nodded. They looked at the menu and Denki felt his eyes go wide.
"Katsuki, this place cost more than a two weeks' pay just for appetizers,"
"I wanted to impress you, show you I'm the best," Denki pouted and kissed his cheek, smiling softly as he saw Bakugo blush.
"You don't need to prove anything to me, Kacchan," Bakugo hugged his waist and brought him closer.
"Force of habit, I suppose," the two chuckled. The two went back to looking at the menu before a server quickly approached them. Denki was about to greet her, when she slammed her hand on the table, making it shake loudly.
"I'm going to have to ask you two to leave," her voice was spiteful and deep. Denki deflated a bit, while Katsuki sneered.
"May I ask why?" Bakugo was doing his best not to lose his patience.
"Listen, I don't know who the hell set this up, but this is a respectable establishment. We won't stand some love drunk, teenage pretty boys ruining our atmosphere. Now, leave and make sure you don't make a scene,"
"Not to be rude, ma'am, but you already did that," Denki replied, gesturing to all the tables staring at them.
"Don't talk back to me!"
"Don't raise your voice to him!" Bakugo stood up. Denki grabbed his arm lightly and shook his head, standing up gently and ready to intervene.
"It's fine Katsuki, let's just go,"
"I'd listen to your cocksleeve twinky, Mr. Muscles,"
"What did you call him?!" Bakugo was about to throw down, when Denki stepped in front of him. Bakugo was about to say something until he saw Denki's expression, the same expression he used anytime he was about to insult the fuck out of somebody. Bakugo knew better than to speak, Denki was the one with a huge vocabulary, not him.
"Aw, bless your insolent heart!" Denki chuckled, "Darling, we have a healthier relationship than a lickspittle like you," Denki smirked when some of the elderly people spit up their water, "and considering your low level of intellect, a lickspittle is someone who sucks up to others. But, I shouldn't have expected much with such narrow-minded pillocks, or foolish persons, as your regular guests! You must have been carrying an umbrella when the world rained brains to not have a mind for yourself, you probably just got projected on! I'm sure the owners will love to hear about their pleasantly ephebiphobic staff," Denki's smirk ran shivers down everybody's spines.
"That's a new word, you really are a walking dictionary," Bakugo complimented.
"It's someone who has an intolerance for teenagers," Denki shrugged and took Katsuki's hand, "besides, I've got a plan B, so don't you worry my dear," Katsuki grinned and squeezed his hand.
"God, you're fucking hot when you intellgently insults extras," Katsuki chuckled darkly before bending down, getting a good look at her nametag.
"Excuse me, what are you doing?" she questioned angrily.
"Getting your name so I can tell Monica and Nova, you know, the owners, how awful you are," he smirked at her and many of the other staff before refocusing on her, "have a pleasant night, Dima," Katsuki chuckled and waved her off. Her face had gone pale as she watched the two boys leave, many also refraining from speaking. As Katsuki opened the door for Denki, he took one last look and flipped everyone off with a snarl, leaving the premises.
As the two got situated in the car, Bakugo looked at Denki who had a satisfied smirk on his face as he clicked the fidget cube a few more times. He knew Denki hated insulting people he barely knew, but in Bakugo's eyes, she had it coming.
"You still have my yellow backpack in the trunk right?" Bakugo nodded, "good, let's grab something greasy, then I'll give you directions from wherever we get food,"
The two settled on some burger place that they both liked, Denki ordering a double-decker burger with extra pickles and bacon with a strawberry shake. Bakugo could appreciate a man that could eat, so he ordered the monster burger with no onions or tomato and a chocolate shake. They finished their order with a jumbo fry with extra salt. After Katsuki paid, the two went on their way to Denki's secret spot. Bakugo noticed he had been texting someone when they finally pulled up to a dirt path and a wooden fence. A man no more than forty was waiting for him, opening the gate for them.
"Mr. Rayson! Thank you for letting us onto the property, I know it must have been a haul to get out here this late," Denki snagged his yellow backpack from the trunk and slunk it over his shoulder while Bakugo held the food. The older man waved his hand and chuckled, seemingly happy to see Denki.
"My name's Wesley, or just Wes, to you Denki! No need for formalities! Is this the boy you've been crushing on?!" Denki's cheeks went red and Bakugo curled his brow, smirking at Denki before looking at Wes.
"Yep, Katsuki Bakugo, nice to meet you sir," he stuck out his free hand to shake, Wes was quick to reciprocate.
"You best treat Denki right, he's been a solid kid since he could read!"
"Wes was a teacher in my elementary school and good friends with Orochi until, well,"
"I'm sorry about never speaking up to the school board, I had a sneaky feeling something was happening, but the principal tied my hands. Your dad was a huge donor to the school, so nobody wanted to get him mad. But, I knew something wasn't right. No kid comes to school with hickeys,"
"You said the Principal Satomi tied your hands, so it wasn't your fault! Besides, you were an awesome teacher and were always so patient with me! Unlike Mrs. Long, she hated me,"
"She hated everybody, old hag she was," Wesley grumbled, making Bakugo laugh.
"I like this guy's attitude!"
"Anyways, I clipped the grass this morning, so everything should be all good. Now, go watch the sunset with your man, I'll make sure you aren't disturbed!" Denki gave a curt nod and took Bakugo's hand, dragging him through the wooded area before coming upon a vast hill. Atop the hill was a blossoming willow tree, but Bakugo had no idea what the hill overlooked.
"Close your eyes~" Denki's smile hurt as he watched Bakugo do as told. Denki quickly ran up the hill and took off the backpack, emptying it out. There was a large, thin, gray weighted blanket, white fairy lights, and a portable speaker. He climbed the tree and placed the fairy light around two branches, making them fall across the front end of the tree. He put the blanket down and made sure he wasn't on any rocks. Lastly was the speaker, which he hooked up to his phone and placed in the crevice of one of the branches. Denki ran back down and gently guided Katsuki up.
"Denki, can I open my eyes now?" The two stood atop the hill with Denki jittery as hell.
"Yep!" Bakugo opened his eyes and was in awe of the wide field of wildflowers that perfectly framed the sunset, the cool breeze of February making the pink and purple willow blossoms, as well as long stems of copious flowers, dance. Bakugo felt his heart melt, this place was so romantic that it would blow any heartthrob out of the way.
"Private, quiet, and calm. The perfect date spot for two soon-to-be big time heroes, don't you think? Denki sat down on the blanket, taking off his shoes and patting next to him. Bakugo copied him, placing their food in between them. The two ate their food, drank their shakes, and watched the sun go down.
When the stars finally came out, Denki sent a shock through the fairy light and began to play some slow music. He stuck out his hand, beckoning Bakugo to dance, and how could he refuse such a tempting offer? Wes had been secretly watching, taking a few photos to send to Mic and Aizawa, before going off. Wes remembered how his daughter did very much the same thing to her current husband, smiling brightly as he then was brought back to him doing it with his own wife. 'The willow tree always works' Wes couldn't help but think, humming as he managed to get back onto the beaten path. He'd really need to take his wife out there soon.
As Bakugo gently spun Denki a bit, he couldn't help but feel his heart thump against his ribs. After three years of crushing on Denki, he finally had him in his arms. The world seemed to fade around them as they danced, but was quickly brought back to them when a lightning bug landed on Denki and his clasped hand. The two looked around and noticed a lot of lightning bugs were playing in the air, surrounding them like natural fairy lights. They had seemed to dance their way into the field of wildflowers without realizing it, and every firefly seemed to really like Denki, which is how Bakugo finally thought of the perfect pet name.
"You really are something, aren't you, lightning bug," Bakugo brushed Denki's hair, grazing his cheek. Denki blushed and held Bakugo's hand there, looking at him with starstruck eyes and a goofy grin. Both of them had gone red in the cheeks as they moved closer, their noses brushing. Their hearts both seemed to be beating erratically as they got closer, like they were about to explode.
They both closed their eyes as their lips were just a touch away, they could feel each other's breath before finally sealing their lips together. Denki cupped Bakugo's cheeks before intertwining his fingers into his hair and embracing Bakugo's neck. Bakugo's arms splayed in two different directions across Denki's back, one cradling his neck and the other clutching his hip. The kiss was erupting in love and passion and care, a euphoric fog clouding their minds as they kissed deeper.
Neither could tell you how long that kiss lasted, nor even begin to explain the amount of warmth flooding both their chest and faces. When they finally parted, heaving pants were all they could muster for a few minutes. It was like the life had been sucked out of them and returned violently all in a matter of seconds. After finally catching their breaths, Denki and Bakugo just looked at each other. Pride prickled in Bakugo's chest when he saw how red Denki's lips were, and Denki felt his suppressed libido finally awaken when he saw how winded he made Bakugo. Denki, the sly minx he was, smirked and twirled a finger on Bakugo's chest. A Cheshire grin placed along his face.
"Taste like chocolate," he teased, licking his upper lip, "mind if I have another~" Bakugo grinned wickedly, picking Denki up by the butt and making their way back to the blanket.
"Only if I can have some more strawberry kisses," He laid Denki down and hovered over him, his eyes narrow with want.
"Hmm, I think that can be arranged, but no more than kissing~ Ok?" Bakugo nodded and kissed his nose, a soft smile now replacing his smirk. He cupped Denki's face again and chuckled, rubbing their noses together. Despite the tents in both their pants, they knew their first time would have to be a lot more special.
"Sure, lightning bug, only kisses~"
