To say that Ereku meant what he said about never losing him would be an understatement.

Every time he could, the older pro called or texted him. He made sure to follow all of his social media, commenting anytime he could come up with something witty. It was obvious to anybody in the hero world the two connected, it made sense since they were both electric quirk havers. Only Denki's closest friends, a few coworkers, and family knew why Ereku suddenly became a huge part of Denki's life.

It all changed on the day when Ereku made a surprise visit to UA, wishing to surprise his son. The day prior there had been a villain attack to which Chargebolt and Dynamight had been center stage. Chargebolt had been injured, having broken his left arm and sprained his left ankle. Dynamight was there, trying to help Denki through the crowd of reporters, when Ereku took sight of him. Both had been pretty bruised, but Ereku could only watch in horror as a reporter accidentally bumped another camera man, causing the huge camera to land on Denki's left foot. The moment his son yelped at the sudden pain, the cameraman didn't even have time to apologize before Ereku erupted.

"You clumsy dolt!" Any sweet tone he had planned to use on his son was erased the moment he saw him get hurt. The crowd jumped at the loud, booming voice, yet nobody moved, "step away from my son! All of you back off and let the kids be before you hurt the other one too!" The crowd obeyed, parting like the Red Sea as Ereku made his way over.

"Dad, it's ok! It was an accident!" Denki pleaded, Katsuki having straightened up the moment the man approached.

"None of your defenses, these imbeciles will continue to harass you until they get what they want. You have to be tough on these news reporters sometimes," He hulked the camera off of Denki's foot and inspected it briefly, "seems like it's swollen, does it still hurt?"

"No, dad, I'm ok," Denki breathily laughed, "Eri can always rewind me, she thinks it's good practice," Denki smiled brightly as Ereku stood straight.

"Give me that stuff," he took all of the things in Katsuki and Denki's arms, "carry my boy, Katsuki," Bakugo smirked and Denki rolled his eyes.

"With pleasure, sir," he picked up Denki as they made their way inside the school grounds.

By the time lunch had rolled around, the media was stormed with theories about who Ereku was. It was fair to question, Elecplant never took off his mask in public. But, when the media began to get out of control, Ereku made an announcement on his hero socials that he was the man, and posted a few photos to prove it. It made a lot of people happy to see his face reveal, some were a little bummed it was under those circumstances. But, can't really blame them, he was basically forced to reveal himself to save Denki from the headache.

It took a few weeks for the waters to calm, but it became easy after a while. There were people who thought that Denki's father was the reason he got into UA, to which Ereku promptly shut those rumors down. Even if they couldn't please everyone, they both knew their true fans would stick with them, as well as their family.

Things seemed calm for a while, both went on with their lives and kept contact. Until one day, when the Japanese Hero Commision called for Denki and Shinso to come to their headquarters. The message seemed urgent, so they quickly geared up and set out. When they got there, they were surprised to find Ereku and a few American heroes there. Ereku had his mask back, holding a stack of papers when Denki walked over to him.

"Dad, what's going on?" he asked worriedly. Ereku and the other American he had been talking to both looked at him, a sad look in their eyes.

"Don't worry, Denki, things will make sense soon," the head of both the American and Japanese Hero Commision walked in not even a few seconds later.

"Chargebolt, Puppet Master, good to have you here. Please, take your seats and we will brief you on your mission," The American stated firmly, his eyes cold. The two did as told, while the rest of the Americans sat on the opposite side, "have you ever heard of the crime organization, White Lilies?"

"Yes," Denki responded curtly.

"Aren't they the group that specializes in child trafficking?" Shinso questioned.

"Yes, and thanks to an undercover op and a runaway child we managed to save, we have found their headquarters in Japan. We wanted to bring you two in to try to take them down," Denki gulped and he felt his palms sweat. His eyes were wide and he felt his lips quiver, flashbacks of Orochi plaguing his mind and clouding his thoughts. Shinso noticed the shift in Denki immediately, looking to the two head commissioners.

"With all due respect, but I think we'll decline the mission,"

"I'm afraid you don't have a choice," the American spoke rashly.

"Yeah, well I'm afraid we do. Commissioner, you know of my brother's past!" Shinso gestured to Denki, "you know what he's been through! Yet, you want to send him on a mission that'll force him to relive the worst trauma of his life!" the Japanese head sighed.

"Puppet Master, your brother would help the mission greatly! His fighting skill, as well as his long range ability, will allow us to take down more while minimizing fatalities,"

"Commissioner, I-"

"I'll do it," Denki spoke softly, "I know what it means to have innocence stolen, and if I can make sure no one else in this world knows that pain, I will," Denki's face was alarmingly stern. His tone was deep and serious, they knew he wasn't messing around. Shinso gave him a worried gaze before sighing, nodding.

"So long as Chargebolt is on board, so am I,"

"Excellent! This is the plan," the American head began to brief the two younger heroes on everything they knew. And when it finally came time to act, Denki did everything he could.

Denki took down a majority of the goons with one fell swoop of his hands. Shinso was not far behind, physically fighting on the second level and letting Denki handle his area himself. That's when Denki noticed a man dressed better than the rest, fleeing through the back corridor. Denki followed, radioing his movements as he followed the man.

When they finally got to the roof, he saw the man hop into a helicopter in a last ditch attempt to get away. Denki chucked one of his newer pointers onto the helicopter, making sure it stuck before shooting a clean wave of electricity through his fingertip. The helicopter crashed into a neighboring, empty building in the large freight dock. Denki swung over to check on the remains when he noticed the man crawling from the wreckage. Denki wasted no time in stalking over and landing a swift kick into the man's stomach. The force behind the kick was enough to break a few ribs as the man flew into a pillar with a pained huff. Denki knelt down to look the man in the face, who seemed to be in a great amount of pain, but still decided to be spiteful.

"Such an innocent, sweet face," he teased, "a lean body, long hair, and already gay. You would have made me so much money," Denki grabbed his throat, silencing immediately. He lifted the man with ease and walked over to the edge of the building, holding him over what would be an undeniably messy death onto the concrete, "wait! Please! Don't do this! Heroes don't kill! You're a hero right?! I'm begging-"

"Just like all those little boys you kidnapped and raped and killed probably did!" Denki silenced him once more, his eyes empty, "you think you deserve to live after everything you did to those children?" the man gulped, his body shaking. Denki squeezed his neck again, "WELL?!" the man had begun to cry.

"Denki!" Shinso had made his way over to the other building, he knew something was wrong when Denki didn't answer his radio, "Denki, put the man down! Do not let this man be the reason your hero career gets flushed down the drain! It will be like if Orochi won in the end, and you promised you would never let him win! Right?" Denki faltered a bit, "right?!" Denki nodded.

"Toshi, I-I just want him to s-suffer," Denki began to cry as his grip loosened.

"That is totally understandable, Denks, but you can't let him get to you! Remember what Dad and Papa always told you! You're stronger than your trauma!"

"I-I'm stronger than my trauma," Denki pulled the man in, setting him down before collapsing to his knees, crying. The man quickly backed away from Denki, terrified of him and groveling to Shinso.

"Thank you for stopping that mad man! I don't know what I would have done if he-" Shinso growled and roundhouse kicked the man in the face, nearly knocking him out.

"Don't you dare talk about my brother like he's a monster, you are the monster here," Shinso's voice was deep with hate as the man finally fell unconscious. Shinso ran over to Denki and embraced him tightly, rocking him gently while the blonde calmed down. Denki sat there for a few minutes, trying to gather his emotions enough to be able to face the other heroes. Once he stood up, he made sure to detain the man and head to the meet up point.

When they got there, there was a police officer arguing with an American hero. Denki and Shinso didn't get to hear any part of the fight until the police officer looked at him, running over.

"Chargebolt, can you assist us? We found a warehouse filled with kids, but one of them refuses to leave his spot and screams like a banshee if we try to move him," Denki knew the poor child must have been frightened by the fighting, plus any trauma he endured prior to the heroes actually getting to him. He agreed, despite Shinso clearly thinking that it wouldn't be a good idea. But, Denki knew this pain, and he knew he would have killed for someone to understand. As he was led to the warehouse, the cops filled him in on who the kid was.

The poor boy lost his parents to a villain attack and was put into the trafficking ring after wandering around. Denki knew the child could use someone like him right now. He was escorted to the rickety warehouse that had surprisingly escaped unscathed in the battle, where a few cops stood.

"Do not disturb us, if I come out without him, we will rethink the plan," Chargebolt commanded, the officers listening to him and backing off.

Denki entered the warehouse, the door creaking shut and dust settling by his feet. He saw a tiny curled body in the farthest corner, draped in a tattered white tee and orange pajama pants with purple dinos on them. He wore blue socks with a few too many holes and was clutching a pink wolf plushie that looked handmade. His hair was flamingo pink and had small black highlights sprinkled about, his wide doe eyes were a chartreuse green and his skin was pretty pale with the exception of a light freckles dotting down his T-zone. The boy couldn't be older than six, maybe even five. The same age he first received this pain.

Denki quietly walked over and gazed down at the small child, his heart aching. Is this how he looked back then? No, he was at least loved by his abuser. This boy, he was used by selfish and sick bastards who will rot in Hell for what they've done. Denki knelt down, keeping a safe distance between him and the boy, before he spoke.

"I will not force you to come with me, I'm sure you've had enough people forcing you around. You don't even need to talk, or move, or really anything. But, I want to tell you a story about a little boy who was much like yourself," the boy's sniffling began to quiet down as he cautiously gazed at Denki, "well, he wasn't very much older than you when he lost his mama to a villain. His real papa wasn't there at the time, so he had to rely on his new papa that his mama had loved. The new papa loved him too, but was heartbroken when the boy's mama was taken away. The little boy looked so much like his mama, that his new papa decided that he was going to hurt him by doing adult things to him. For a long time, the boy let his new papa do those things, because he didn't know any better. Until a hero came to save him," the boy uncurled a tiny bit.

"A h-hero like you?" the boy asked. Denki chuckled and shook his head.

"This hero was better than me, he was super cool and really fun to tease! He never showed it much, but he always cared about people he held close. He would die for them, just like I would to those I love. But, we're getting sidetracked," Denki giggled, causing the boy to giggle too, "you see, the boy and the hero had known each other already and the hero basically saw the boy as his son. So, when he saved the boy, he took him as his son and they lived a very happy life," Denki smiled, "if you want, I can be your hero. I will not force you to make a choice right now, but I-" the boy chucked his tiny body into Denki's arms, hugging him tightly. Denki kept his arms out, "is it ok if I hug you?" the boy nodded, making Denki smile softly as he embraced the child.

"You are the little boy, I know you are. I can tell by your eyes that you hurt too, so I want you to be my hero," Denki felt tears gather in the corners of his eyes. He smiled and hugged the boy tighter.

"You are the strongest little boy in my world, say what's your name?" Denki asked as he stood up. The boy shrugged, "well, if you can't remember, then I'll give you a new name! I'll think of a good one, just give me time!" Denki smiled, making the boy smile and hug him tighter. Denki walked from the warehouse with officers ready to take the boy, but Denki held them back, "this cutie pie is coming back with me, he's had it rough for too long," Denki explained. Shinso looked at him worriedly, going up to him.

"Are you sure Denks?" As Denki gazed at the boy in his arms, who looked back at him with a gentle smile, Denki nodded.

"One-hundred percent,"

And just like that, he walked off the scene with the little one in his arms.

Bakugo is a sensible man: he could handle Denki buying extra things when food shopping or bringing home a stray every now and again. But, when Denki walked into their home with a whole-ass child, he was speechless. Bakugo really couldn't say anything, shocked seemed to hold his vocal chords hostage. Denki just went into the bathroom, running a warm bath and quickly walking back out with the clothes the child had been wearing. He was quick to handwash the boy's underwear, leaving the rest of the clothes in the hamper in the hallway before going into their room and coming out with one of his shirts. Around thirty minutes pass before Denki walks back out, still in civilian clothes but the freshly bathed boy in his arms.

"Denks," Denki hushed him and gently placed the boy in Bakugo's lap.

"Papa!" the boy grabbed his wrists.

"It's ok, honey, he won't hurt you. He's a hero, just like me!" Denki smiled. The boy looked at Bakugo with wide eyes, "besides, this is my soulmate. He wouldn't ever do anything to make me sad," Denki teased before walking away, "I'm going to take a quick shower, play nice you two," Denki quickly walked away. Bakugo looked at the boy, who looked back up at him, before laughing and gently patting his scruffed cheeks.

"I never had two papas before! This is so cool! Both my papas are heroes!" he laughed again, making Bakugo smile a bit, "if Papa loves you, then so do I. You'll be my Daddy," the boy snuggled close to Bakugo, "I love you, Daddy," Bakugo could have sworn his heart fucking melted. Scratch that, he knows it did. Bakugo snuggled back, his heart warming at the young boy. He turned off the TV and carried the boy to his and Denki's room, laying him on the bed and plopping down beside him. Denki came in not even ten minutes later, his heart thumping at how cute the scene was. Denki laid down, the boy sandwiched between the two heroes.

"He got a name, lightning bug?" Bakugo gently rubbed the boy's head. Denki smiled softly and nodded, cuddling the two closer.

"Kenji, our strong little boy," Denki spoke softly, afraid to wake him. Bakugo smiled and hugged Denki closer, bringing the covers up over them.

"Sounds perfect," he kissed Denki and Kenji's heads before nodding off. Denki gazed at the two for a few more moments, grazing his hand along Bakugo's cheek before settling it over Kenji's head.

"Sweet dreams, Kenji," with that, he drifted off.
