The Fate and Future of Human Kind
He stared at me with a smile on his face.
I smiled back. "Hello, Daniel." I say, walking towards him. He moves not even an inch. "My name is Novus and I am here to congratulate you with a second chance at life for the horrible one you had to suffer through here on Earth."
He still doesn't move, but I ignore that. Being a deity scares people.
I grab a special pen from my pocket. It was the same one that God used to write the ten commandments and write all the people who are going to heaven. He doesn't need it anymore seeing that everyone else but Daniel is dead on Earth. He is our last chance to save humanity and Earth. It all rests on his shoulders.
I put the pen in front of me, his eyes stare intently still at me. "This pen is a very special pen. It lets mortals write their future in a sense."
The mortal will write what he wants his future to be and I will send it to God and he will miracle everything that the man wants.
I take out a piece of paper out of my bg too and hand him both of the Heavenly sanctuary.
Daniel doesn't take anything he just looks at me. This might be a problem.
I place my hand on his shoulder. "Daniel." He finches away, but at least he's not staring at me anymore.
"Did you hear what I said?"
"Uh... yeah," Daniel says looking now at the carpet floor. "Pen, paper, write my fate."
"Okay well here they are so write I'll give you one hour."
He takes the pen and paper and sits down at what I assume is the dining room table. It's a huge table that's crammed in the tiny kitchen. I don't know why he has such a big table if he lives alone. I see no pictures of a lover and or children. Not even a mom or Dad. His little apartment is sad and the generator that makes all the electricity is huge. How does he live like this?
A few years ago a disease got out, no one knew where, but it spread like wildfire. It made it to everywhere on account of planes. Soon it was a worldwide pandemic. It became too powerful for the humans to control and soon all, but one died.
Daniel.
He is our last hope.
God didn't how his humans were acting, so like the flood in Moses' time, he killed everyone except Moses, his wife, there three sons, and their wives. Eight humans in total. Now it was just one.

I went back to Daniel ten minutes before I would give God the fate of humanity.
"Daniel?" I say walking through the doorway to the kitchen.
"Yes?" Daniel said twisting himself in the wooden chair, the pen in hand.
"Can I see what you wrote? You still have ten minutes by the way."
"Great..." Daniel says as I peer over him to see what you have written down.
I just stared at the blank piece of paper as he twisted the fate of himself and humanity with the pen.
Questions poke at my brain as they try to escape, but I don't let them. I only let one out.
"What do you desire?"
"Huh?"
"What do you desire?" I repeat. I guess writing out your own fate is hard for people. I would think that he would have written down a wife and a nice house and lots of money. I don't know, but not nothing.
"I want..." he says twiddling the pen again. I just want to rip it out of his hands for doing nothing for almost an hour. He held so much power and yet did nothing! "...to die."
The last word ringings in my ears.
Death.
I have already seen how the future plays out. He was going to die from the disease if God didn't intervene, but I didn't know that he was suicidal.
"Why do you want to die?" I ask and sit down.
He takes a shaky breath. "You are sitting in my wives seat." A tear ran down his cheek.
"Oh," I say, "Do you want me to move?" I already have my hand on the table and my legs are already doing the action.
"No, no. It's fine." I sit back down a little uneasy. "I want to die so I can see my wife and my children. Living and living alone sucks. I think that this might be another hallucination, but I hope it's not."
I cannot prompt him to write anything so I say, "Write that then. If you wish to die ten list the reason as well. Don't have long."
"That's fine if my wish doesn't come true I can just do it myself," Daniel says and puts pen to paper.
I watch him write for the last five minutes. He doesn't write a lot since his only wish is to die.
"Your time is up," I announce.
I grab the paper and don't read it. Why should I if I already know the sad thing incrivered on it?
"Goodbye," I say and fly up to heaven.

I peer through a hospital window to see Daniel and his wife in the room. His wife is screaming her head off and Daniel is trying to comfort her as the nurses yell "Push!"
When finally the baby is out and cleaned and all is calm she the newborn is placed on its mother's chest.
"Dan, what should we name her?"
"How about Nova?"
"I like it," she says. "What about you, Nova? Do you like your name?" She plays with the little baby girl.
Daniel sees me and gives me a smile. He goes to the door and opens it.
"Charlotte, I want you to meet the woman who helped me find you again. Novus."
"Hello," I say with a wave.
"Thank you," she says and grabs my arm. I see her future flash before my eyes. Happy memories of Nova growing up then sad ones of her getting cancer and almost dying, but she got through it and the whole family bonds together.
That's why I don't like touching people. It's too sad.
Even though I know that I decide to touch Noa so I can warn Daniel.
Happy memories all I see. Yes she has hardship, but she never lets them get to her. She always perserviews.
"She will have a bright future indeed," I say to Charlotte.
"I hope so."
