Getting advice.
A few days passed, and we went to school as normal.
However, Cindi still wasn't there.
I was starting to get extremely concerned: especially since I had found out her mother was quite mean.
I started having a little trouble in every class because my mind wandered to these thoughts. I just couldn't stop them from flooding my mind all the time.
It really threw me off balance.
Tendo and Yeper both were fine, but knew what was going on with Cindi and me. So that was a little helpful.
But that didn't change the fact that I wasn't going to be able to stop thinking about what would come next for Cindi and me. I wasn't about to accept breaking up with her because her mother sucks, but I couldn't exactly march in and demand that her family accept us as a couple. That wouldn't be right, nor would it look good for me.
I had to think of something to do, and fast. Otherwise...
Well...
Otherwise Cindi and I might never have a proper shot at a relationship.
When school ended that day, instead of going straight home I decided to take a long way back to try and organize some of my thoughts.
It wasn't exactly any sort of solution or even something that helped me much, but I felt I needed it.
But on my walk back, I ran into Aurora's dad rounding a corner.
I stopped. "Uh... hey Aurora's dad."
He turned and looked back at me. "Oh, hello there er... Constan! Yes, Constan right?"
I nodded. "Yep. That's me, hehe..."
He smiled. He always looked friendly. Why couldn't Cindi's parents be as nice as Aurora's dad was?
"So where are you going if I may ask?" He questioned. "Your house isn't this way is it?"
I shook my head plainly. "Not really. I mean, you can get there taking this route. I just decided to go on a walk and take my time getting home is all."
"Ah, I understand." He responded. "But, why? Is there something going on? Surely not something serious right?"
I nearly shook my head, but then stopped myself. Maybe I could tell him about what's going on, and maybe he can even help. Yes, it might work. Worth a try at least.
"Actually... kinda. You know Cindi right? Cindi the jolteon?"
He thought about it for a moment, but then nodded. "Yes I do believe so. I apologize, my memory isn't exactly the best."
I rubbed the back of my neck mane. "So... something's been going on between us recently... and, I went to her house to ask about it with her mom, and her mom was really rude to me and Tendo, and kicked us out. I think she might be threatening Cindi to not hang out with me anymore..."
He was completely focused on me now--listening intently.
"So, I'm kinda wondering since you're here and all, if you have any... you know, advice for me? Cause I don't know what to do right now..."
He nodded. "That does sound difficult to deal with. An aspiring couple unable to be with each other because of some higher authority."
I jerked. "Wha-? Wait, you know about Cindi and I?"
He smiled and snickered slightly. "Yes, it was obvious to me. And you two are good compliments for each other. It's easy to see why you two found each other and made a connection so easily."
I nodded once. "So... you got any advice...?"
He put his paw to his chin in thought. "Hmm... for your situation, I'm not exactly the best one too consult with. However, I can say this: if you two are truly willing to give up everything, and fight for each other despite seemingly insurmountable odds stacked against you, then perhaps you two should. I'm not saying go and disregard Cindi's parents, but if they are wrong and you both know it, then find a way to get past it. Find help from others who can support you."
I titled my head in slight exasperation. "Um... ok. Thanks, but it's not very fantastic advice..."
He chuckled nervously. "Sorry. I'm not very good at these types of things. You should talk to Aurora. She seems to be quite the counselor."
He waved and started turning to leave.
Suddenly a thought occurred to me. "Uh, hey wait. Before you leave, can I ask you one more thing?"
He turned back and nodded. "Go for it."
"What do you think about Tendo and Aurora's relationship?" I asked.
He half-smiled and answered simply, "I'm not entirely sure it'll be all rainbows and cupcakes for them. They're not the best for each other, but if they're willing to go the distance, then I'll support them."
I smiled; half relieved to hear my brother wasn't having the perfect relationship either.
He waved to me. "Goodbye Constan. And good luck to you for everything you're going through."
I waved back. "Thanks Aurora's dad! Bye!"
I let my paw fall back down as I thought about what he said.
I just need to fight. I was going to do that anyway sure, but to have a proper adult tell me to, just reinforced that I would and could do it.
I turned around: no longer interested in taking the long way back. I would march back home and begin scheming on how to get through these trials.
And Cindi and I would win it in the end for sure.
