Part 1: Illustrious
Archie is a funny guy. Always cracking up about things that I don't even understand. Always hanging around Maxie, trying to find what makes him tick. He's he one who gave me the Sharpedo that I surf on everyday, fast as lightning. When Primal Kyogre was awakened, I was the one who caught it, and it's thanks to Archie that I now control its Primal Reversion. Maxie was a straight-up nerd. But the good thing is, back in the day, he would help me with homework, so that was helpful. I especially liked Steven. Both of us were fifteen when we met. The first words he ever said to me-- "Do you like stones?" And so, yeah. We are friends. But then I moved to the Kalos region five years later, and had to leave them all behind. I wonder if they still remember me...
I wake up to the sound of the Fletchling chirping outside my window. That old nest has been abandoned for some time, but looks like it's back in business. I love Laverre City. To me, this is the place where fairy types were born. I don't know, but something about this place is undeniably charming. I get out of bed, and walk over to my living room. You see, I'm lazy when it comes to everything. I make a tradition of watching television before eating, so I don't have to do much right away.
I turn on the TV to see a program about Eevee in the wild. It quickly gets out of hand when it came to the part where two male Eevee were fighting, ripping each other apart. Almost gagging, I change the channel to the Professor's latest episode. He's introducing Sylveon to the viewers. How cute! I wish I had an Eevee. Then comes the commercial break. Do I hate that? Yes. A lot.
There's a commercial for the election for the Military Leader of Kalos. A video clip of a ginger-haired man speaking in a startlingly deep voice about how he can make the world better plays. Then text pops up on the screen that says, "Lysandre may care about how things go, but is he really the person we think he is? The government leaked this audio clip that PROVES he isn't what we think." That Lysandre person is talking with what seems like a scientist. He asks if the weapon is ready, and the scientist replies with an "almost, sir". Then the text pops up again. "A weapon? What is he planning to do? Help us keep him in his place, and vote Jamie Ross for Military Leader." Wow. That guy should be pissed of when he sees that. Talking dirty about someone behind their backs-- that Jamie person should be ashamed. Get roasted, Jamie.
I take off later that day to head for Lumiose City. I bring the Goomy on route 114 their usual peanut butter jelly sandwich, and they eat it up before I can say "You're welcome". Those little slime balls. So adorable!
I go to Magenta Plaza to the Café that i love. It's hidden in the corner of the right side of where I enter, so it's sometimes hard to spot. I heard the owner's going to be coming around, and asking people how the service is. I wanted to be there in time! I really wanted to talk to the owner and tell him... or her-- how great this place is!
It's an hour before he starts asking people. Or at least, he gets to me. I'm busy cutting down the notifications on my Holo Caster by not-so-watching the messages I have. I hear the deep voice I heard during the commercial right by me, talking to me.
"So I see you have a Holo Caster? Very good choice. I heard the Labs are working hard to provide an update. It'll be out in a few days. But anyway, let's get to the point. How are things around here?"
He's right in front of me. I never realized that his eyes had an icy blue color, in contrast with the fiery ginger hair he has. Yes, this is real. And yes, I'm a detail freak.
"Are... you okay?" Huh? Why'd he say that? That's when I realize I've been silent this whole time. Just staring at him.... the poor guy must be so freaked out.
"Oh. Yeah, sorry. Did you see the commercial? Shame on that guy."
"Yeah. All I have to say is, I'm just disappointed that he put so much effort into that. Jamie wants to get me out of the race, but the thing is, there's no need. I'm dropping out. I don't need any more recognition than I have now, that's what I realize. You probably didn't understand anything I'm saying, I don't even know what I'm saying."
He sounds like Steven. He was always nervous near me, but I don't know why. Why do guys get nervous around me?
"Are you all right?" I didn't want him to think I was crazy. He shook his head and apologized. Why did he apologize? There was no need...
For a while, we were both silent. Either looking at each other, or at the ground. Finally, he broke the silence, and asked me a few things.
"So... how are things here? Everything okay? Any suggestions for improvement?" Was it just me, or was his face a bit redder than usual when he talks to me? I told him that, no there is nothing to fix. After a few moments, he stood up and said:
"I'm sorry, I have to go. It was nice meeting you, and I hope you'll stop by again." He reached out to shake my hand, and I obliged. After he got up to leave, I felt something in my palm... it's a King's rock, and in perfect condition. I look at him through the glass panel doors, and see him jump for some reason, and the people outside look at him funny. I'm guessing he doesn't normally act like this. I wonder what he wants to tell me...
