The Unnatural

My whole body ached as I groaned and opened my eyes. What was that music? It sounded like an organ. Wincing, I pushed myself up as my joints cracked. Using the wall, I was next too for support, I managed to get to my feet and take note of myself. Everything seemed fine, but how did I get here from Louder Than Life? Did I use accidental magic to apparate out of the mosh pit? Looking at my clothes, they were different. Looking around, I tried to find my bag, but didn't see it. Cursing, I pulled up the bust of my dress and felt something move in my cleavage. Reaching in, I pulled out my beach tote.

"What the bloody hell?" I cursed setting the tiny bag on the ground before waving my hand over it. The tote grew to its original size, and I rifled through it looking for my wand. It was then I noticed my hand. "My ring!"

Searching the tote again, I pulled out my trunk and enlarged it before looking through it as well. Nothing. Not my original wand or family ring. Tears blurred my vision as I sat on my knees and cried. When my tears ran out, I dug through my trunk until I found my backup wand. Weak comfort washed over me as I held it in my hand. Larch wood, eleven inches, with a Phoenix feather core. Grabbing a cloak out of my trunk, I wrapped it around my shoulders and packed the tote in it before closing my trunk and shrinking it down. Tucking my trunk in my cleavage, I carefully got back to my feet and made my way towards the music, being mindful not to step on any glass. Emerging from the alleyway I was in; I saw a huge stadium say Cookie Co. International Park. Hugging myself, I carefully I made my way towards the stadium. I spotted some teenagers by a brightly colored van. Walking up to them, I cleared my throat.

"Um, excuse me." I said.

"Can we help you?" one of the teens asked. He was muscular and blonde.

"I was wondering if you could tell me the date." I asked in a quiet voice.

"It's May thirtieth, 1976." he replied. What? I'm in the past? Looking at the teens, I saw they were dressed like it was the seventies. When my eyes landed on the van, they widened.

"M-Mystery Machine?" I stammered backing up a bit.

"What's wrong?" one of the girls asked. She had red hair and wore a purple dress. Daphne Blake.

"Like Scoob, she looks like she's seen a ghost." a tall lanky teen with shaggy hair, a green t-shirt, and brown bell bottoms laughed. Shaggy Rogers.

"Rheah. A rhoast." laughed a large brown great dane with black spots. Scooby-Doo.

I looked at the blonde guy again and noticed he had an orange ascot on. Fred Jones. Lastly was a girl in an orange sweater, red skirt, bobbed brown hair, and glasses. Velma Dinkley. I couldn't form coherent words as my knees began to shake and my eyes rolled into the back of my head.

"Freddy! Catch her!" I heard Daphne exclaim as arms caught me.

When I finally came too, I was laying on a small cot with a blanket draped over me. Looking around confused, I saw Daphne sitting on a chair next to me.

"You're awake!" she gasped before getting up and rushing out the door. "She's awake you guys."

The sound of multiple people running could be heard before the Scooby Gang, and what looked like a nurse walked in.

"It's good to see you back with us." the nurse said walking over to me and pressing the back of her hand against my forehead. "Well, the fever's gone, but I'm more worried about your baby."

"B-baby?" I asked. There was no way I could be pregnant.

"Yes, when I was giving you an exam, I noticed your stomach was rounded and when I pressed against it, I felt a mass. Luckily, we have an ultrasound machine here at the stadium, I printed off the images if you wish to see them." the nurse explained. "When I saw the baby and not a tumor, I was relieved."

"B-but that's impossible! I haven't been with anyone in over a year!" I stated pushing myself up. The blanket fell and I saw I was still in the red dress. Pressing my hand to my stomach, I felt the bump and the color drain from my face.

"Maybe it was a one-night stand, and you were drunk? It's not uncommon." Velma suggested.

I felt like my whole world had shattered. First Mystery Inc. and now I'm having a baby?

"Hey, I'm sure everything will be okay." Daphne said softly sitting on the edge of the cot. Tears welled into my eyes, and I began sobbing. She just pulled me into her arms and rubbed my back as everyone stood around awkwardly.

"I'm sorry." I sniffled sitting back and seeing the tear stain on Daphne's dress.

"It's alright. You looked like you needed a shoulder to cry on." she waved off my apology. "Can you tell us your name?"

"Avalon. But everyone calls me Ava." I replied wiping my eyes.

"It's nice to meet you, Ava. I'm Daphne, this is Fred, Velma, Scooby-Doo, and Shaggy." she smiled gesturing to each person as she said their name.

"It's a pleasure to meet you." I gave them a watery smile. "Where am I, anyway."

"Cookie Co. International Park!" Shaggy exclaimed proudly.

"You know, you seem familiar." Velma hummed leaning in close.

"I-I do?" I blinked before looking around the room. Behind everyone, I spotted my trunk at its regular size with my wand laying on top of it. "How did-?"

"It fell out of your dress when Fred caught you. When it touched the stick in your hand, it grew in size." Daphne explained standing up as I pushed back the blanket. "Almost like magic."

I flinched at that word.

"Um, it's a special shrinking tech I invented. The stick is the control rod." I lied. "Could I, um. Have some privacy to change out of this dress?"

"Of course." the nurse nodded while pulling out a trip of pictures and ushering everyone out. "I'd like to stay, and make sure you don't have anything wrong that I missed when I first examined you."

"Oh, um. Okay." I nervously chuckled walking over to my trunk and opening it with my wand in hand.

Laying on top of everything was my white and rose patterned sundress. Shrugging, I grabbed it and a bra before closing my trunk and going behind the curtain the nurse pulled over to strip. Once I was in just a pair of unfamiliar red lace panties, the nurse poked and prodded me, unlike Madam Pomfrey, before giving me the go ahead to get dressed. Gathering up the unfamiliar dress, I returned to my trunk and stuffed the dress in it after grabbing some sandals. Once I was done, I tapped my wand on my trunk and shrunk it before putting both in the pocket of my dress. Looking to the side I saw the ultrasound photos.

"You're having a boy." The nurse calmly said as I picked up the photos. Tears pricked my eyes as I lightly traced the images.

"Hadrian." I breathed.

"Pardon?" she asked.

"His name will be Hadrian Paul Ryder-Potter." I don't know where Paul came from, but it sounded right. "After my late father and someone else."

"A beautiful name." the nurse smiled before leading me out of the infirmary and into a hallway where the gang were waiting. "Now, no strenuous activity. I'd hate to see you back here."

"I understand." I nodded before Daphne came over and looped her arm with mine.

"Are those the ultrasound pictures?" she gushed looking at them. "Awe, so tiny."

It made a small smile appear on my face.

"Yeah. It's a boy." I said as the gang led me down the hallway.

"Hey Ava, wanna watch the game with us?" Fred asked.

"Game?" I tilted my head in confusion.

"Baseball!" he smiled.

"Oh, um. Sure. It's not like have anywhere to be." I shrugged.

As we walked through the stadium, I did ask the gang to stop for a moment so I could get my purse out of my trunk. They were nice about it as I did so, and we were on the move once more after I reshrank my trunk and put it in my purse with my wand. When we neared the concession stands, I grabbed my wallet and phone out. Turning on my phone, I saw a picture of me with what looked like Paul Stanley in his makeup as I kissed his cheek. Daphne's squeal in my ear made me wince when she saw the photo.

"You've met Starchild?!" her eyes were as big as saucers. I don't even remember taking that picture.

"Years ago, but it was just a meet and greet at their Indianapolis show." I replied. Turning my screen off, I tucked my phone back in my purse and held my wallet tight. Paul Stanley didn't even look like he was in his sixties in the that photo.

"Oh, he's so dreamy." she sighed.

"Yeah, he is." I admitted. "KISS is my favorite band."

"Mine too!" she gushed as we got in line. I ended up just getting a water and a hot dog, not thinking I could stomach much greasy food, before going to some empty seats.

As we watched the game, it started to rain heavily before the roof closed blocking out the bad weather. When one of the players came up to bat, he got a strike and before he could speak to the ref, a ghost appeared and yelled about warning everyone and making us suffer? What the hell. Then it clicked. This was that baseball episode in What's New: Scooby-Doo. Everyone began to panic and scatter as the lights blew. I ended up frozen in my seat in shock before whipping out my wand as the ghost threw flaming baseballs at Daphne, Velma, and Fred.

"Protegro!" I shouted putting up a barrier in front of the kids as they dove to the ground. Jumping over the wall and onto the field, I stood between them and the kids with my wand pointed at the ghost. Gray fog covered the ground, hiding my feet and the kids behind me. "Scurge!"

The spell did nothing as the ghost laughed. Right, he's not a real ghost.

"Stupefy!" I said sending the stunner at him. He dodged and threw another flaming baseball at us. Ducking down, I put my wand back in my purse. When I looked up, the ghost was gone. "He's gone."

The kids all sat up and looked around as the fog cleared.

"What were those lights coming from the control rod to your shrinking suitcase?" Fred asked.

"I don't know what you're talking about. That fog must have some form of hallucinogenic in it." I feigned ignorance as we stood up.

They seemed to buy it as we regrouped and headed to the locker room where the gang talked to one of the baseball players. I sat in the corner looking at my phone before turning it back on and deciding to scroll through the photos. There were hundreds of pictures of me with KISS both in and out of makeup. How do I have these pictures. Fred said that Mystery Inc. would handle the mystery of the ghost. Daphne suggested I stay in the locker room where I would be safe and could keep resting. I wanted to argue, but she had a point. Nodding, I went back to my phone and decided to look through my contacts. I saw my parents' old numbers, my friends' numbers, and a few I didn't recognize. Namely four with names that confused me.

Paul My Starchild

Gene Simmons

Peter Criss

Ace the Asshat

Confused about them, I clicked on Paul and once it started ringing, I held it to my ear.

"Ava? Is that you? Where are you? We'll come get you." Came an excited and worried voice.

"Why is you're number in my phone. I don't know who you are." I stated. "I don't even know who three of my other contacts are."

"What? What are the other contacts?" the voice sounded upset.

"Gene Simmons, Peter Criss, and Ace the Asshat." I replied. "How do you know me?"

"Ava, Baby, it's me Paul! Please tell me you remember my voice." the person pleaded.

"The only Paul I could only know is Paul Stanley from KISS, and I met him three years ago in Indianapolis at a concert." I said. "This isn't making sense."

"Ava wait! Where are you-" I didn't hear the last of his question when I ended the call. The Paul guy kept trying to call me, but I eventually just turned my phone off completely.

Third Person POV:

Paul stared at his phone as tears pricked his eyes. Ava finally called after months and didn't even know who he was. She didn't even recognize the guys' numbers either.

"Paul?" Gene asked looking at the frontman. "Was that Ava?"

"Yeah, but she didn't even recognize me. She asked why my number was in her phone, and yours as well as Ace and Peter's numbers." Paul wiped his eyes while trying to call back. The calls were declined until they went straight to voicemail.

"Then she must have reverted back to before she met us." Gene surmised placing his hand on Paul's shoulder. "We can trace the call. It'll tell us about a general area from where she called from."

"Please. We have to find her." Paul pleaded.

"We will. Don't worry." Gene assured his friends once more.

Ava's Pov:

Sitting in the locker room was getting boring fast. Leaning back against the wall, I tried to get comfortable when suddenly I was falling backwards and sliding down a chute. A scream escaped me the entire way down until I landed on concrete with a grunt. Wherever I was, it was pitch black. Taking out my wand, I cast Lumos to illuminate the area. I was in an office of some sort, and judging my the massive amounts of dust, an abandoned office. Carefully, I made my way around the room until I found a door. Opening it, I found a dilapidated hallway. Oh, right. The plot of the episode involved an old stadium that sank into the ground and the current one was built over the ruins. Making my spell brighter, I began wandering the halls looking for a way out. As I was wandering the halls, I heard loud crashing above me, and dust fell from the ceiling. Coughing and covering my nose, I began running away from the falling dirt and debris.

"Damnit." I wheezed leaning against a wall after the dust settled.

I pushed off the wall and began walking again. Sure, I could have apparated. But that's not safe while pregnant. That much I knew. Hours passed and finally, I found a way out. Climbing the rust ladder, I pushed open a hatch to see the stadium was filled, and the ghost had cornered Shaggy and Scooby. I had climbed out behind the ghost, so he didn't see me. Crouching down, I snuck up behind the ghost before jumping up and roundhouse kicking him in the side. Gasps came from the crowd as I stalked towards the ghost and grabbed him by the collar of his jersey. A snarl was on my face as I brought his face close to mine.

"WHAT IN THE FUCK ARE YOU THINKING ATTACKING CHILDREN! ARE YOU OUT OF YOUR FUCKING MIND?!" I screeched in his face making the ghost quiver in my grasp. Reaching back, I balled my hand into a fist and slammed it into his nose, hearing a crunch. The ghost went limp in my grip, and I dropped him to the ground.

"Ava! Like, thank goodness you appeared when you did. We were scared we were gonna become ghosts too." Shaggy ran over hugging me.

"Get off me please." I said breathing out of my nose heavily. Security came running out onto the field and I threw the unconscious ghost at them. They caught him with a grunt before helping me down.

"Ava, how did you do that? Where have you been?" Daphne asked as the gang and a baseball player gathered around.

"I took martial arts during summer breaks from school, and I leaned against the wall in the locker room and fell down a chute into the old stadium. Took me all night to find a way out." I explained before walking up to the now groaning ghost. Blood dripped from the nose of the mask as I pulled it off the 'ghost'.

"Bob Taylor?" Daphne gasped seeing the bloodied man.

"I may have gone a bit overboard with my anger." I blushed before Bob staggered to his feet with security's help.

The gang laughed before revealing their finding to the team manager. I stood back a bit and watched everything unfold. Bob said he wanted to protect his late friend's homerun record. When Daphne asked about the publicist and her shoes, the woman pulled out a second pair making the teen gasp in awe. Shaking my head, I looked around the Stadium. It was really lively now. There was even a stage for people to perform shows on. Seeing it made my fingers itch as I slowly walked towards it.

"Ain't it a beauty?" the team manager asked following my gaze. "We sometimes have bands come in and perform to liven up the games."

"It's incredible." I nodded.

"You a singer?" he asked.

"I dabble. The last time I performed was for my aunt and her family back in England." I replied looking back at the gang.

"Well, how about you perform something while we set the field to rights." the man suggested making me gape at him.

"For real?" I felt a smile creep on my face. "But I don't have a band!"

"We've got a few guys on the team who play more than baseball. I'm sure they'd love to help you out." the manager waved some of the players over. "This is Jimmy, he plays drums, then we have Mike who plays bass, and Carter plays guitar."

"Wow, that's incredible!" I clapped my hands together. "Are you sure it's okay for me to perform? I'm a nobody."

"It's going to take a while to get things back up and running. The fans would enjoy it." he shrugged as I looked at the gang.

"You should like, totally do it!" Shaggy gave me a thumbs up.

"Rheah! Rheah!" Scooby nodded. Looking back at the manager I smiled at him.

"Sure! I know a couple songs." I said before looking at the guys. "I'd have to teach them to you three."

"We know quite a few songs ourselves. Especially from the former band Rising Phoenix." Jimmy said. "Let us grab our instruments out of the locker room and we'll meet you on stage.

"Wait! What songs do we want to do?" I asked making them pause.

"Just look up Rising Phoenix on YouTube. There are all kinds of videos on there." Carter chuckled before running off with his teammates.

I blinked dumbly before grabbing my phone out of my purse and switching it on. Once my phone was rebooted, I opened the app and looked up Rising Phoenix. Seeing the woman on stage made me drop my phone. It was me?! But how? Scrolling through the videos, I saw I did songs from the twenty-first century. There was even a cover of What's New: Scooby-Doo on there. Blinking dumbly, I felt a shock go through my head making me grab it and wince while dropping my phone.

"Ava!" the gang shouted running up to me.

"Are you okay?" Fred asked moving my hand and looking at my forehead as if looking for a cut or something.

"Hey guys, look at this! The singer from Rising Phoenix looks just like Ava!" Velma exclaimed picking up my phone and showing the gang. "I knew you looked familiar. She must be your twin sister."

My hair used to be a mix of tri-colored highlights, now it faded from dark red at my roots to bright yellow on the ends.

"Yeah, a twin sister." I drawled shooing Fred away. "I'm fine, it was just a headache."

What was going on? Did I have a life or something before waking up in that alley?

"I remember her! She used to date Starchild before going missing in Hawaii. KISS did a whole press release on it. They said she was kidnapped and when they found here, there was an explosion, and she was missing." Daphne had a sad look on her face.

"Hey! We're back!" Jimmy, Mark, and Carter called out running up to us with various rock instruments. "Ready to give the fans a show they won't forget?"

"Um, yeah. Let's do it!" I forced a smile grabbing my phone from Velma and following them to the stage. Carter handed me an extra guitar as some stadium staff set up the stage. "Thanks."

We all got on stage and hooked up to the amps and discussed three songs. We would play The Moment, I Was Made for Loving You (That KISS had just released), and a song for the Scooby Gang. I gave a nod at the songs, and we took our places.

I've gazed across the waves
Beyond the shores that hold me
I've watched the mountains fall
In stories that they told
Ever fixed
Ever firm
Resolute in all I learn
Bittersweet I turn to face the ocean cold

The fans in the stands began cheering.

Ride into the fire
Strike down through the burning borders
Reigns held ever tighter
Come carry me forward now

This is the moment I've been waiting for
Out of the hands of fate I'm tearing into truth
This is the moment I've been waiting for
Follow the future, swipe the blade I'm cutting loose

This song was from Wonder Woman, and I loved it.

I walk a wild new world
The strangest sights surround me
I grow into
This sense of wonder that I've found
There is pain
There is joy
There is so much they destroy
Every soul here is a two-way battleground

Ride into the fire
Face up to the empty promise
Walk a little wiser
Fight hard for the honest
Ride into the fire
Strike down through the burning borders
Reigns held ever tighter
Come carry me forward now

This is the moment I've been waiting for
Out of the hands of fate I'm tearing into truth
This is the moment I've been waiting for
Follow the future, swipe the blade I'm cutting loose
This is the time that I've been fated for
This is the moment I've been waiting for

The stadium was filled with cheers as groundskeepers fixed up the grass and the challk lines.

Do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do
Do, do, do, do, do, do, do
Do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do
Do, do, do, do, do, do, do

Tonight I wanna give it all to you
In the darkness
There's so much I wanna do
And tonight I wanna lay it at your feet
'Cause, girl, I was made for you
And, girl, you were made for me

Flashes of what I guessed were memories played through my mind.

I was made for loving you, baby
You were made for loving me
And I can't get enough of you, baby
Can you get enough of me?

Tonight I wanna see it in your eyes
Feel the magic
There's something that drives me wild
And tonight we're gonna make it all come true
'Cause, girl, you were made for me
And, girl, I was made for you

I was made for loving you, baby
You were made for loving me
And I can't get enough of you, baby
Can you get enough of me?

I couldn't make out any faces, but I could see a crowd below me, sitting at a piano playing this song, and a dimly lit hotel room.

I was made for loving you, baby
You were made for loving me
And I can give it all to you, baby
Can you give it all to me?

Oh, can't get enough, oh, oh
I can't get enough, oh, oh
I can't get enough
Yeah, ha

Do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do
Do, do, do, do, do, do, do
Do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do
Do, do, do, do, do, do, do

I was made for loving you, baby
You were made for loving me
And I can't get enough of you, baby
Can you get enough of me?

Oh, I was made, you were made
I can't get enough
No, I can't get enough

I was made for loving you, baby
You were made for loving me
And I can't get enough of you, baby
Can you get enough of me?

I was made for loving you, baby
You were made for loving me
And I can give it all to you, baby

Everyone was losing their minds and I felt something swell within me. It couldn't be my magic.

"That was amazing, Ava!" Daphne gushed as I was helped off the stage.

"Not to mention, your martial arts skills are amazing." Fred pointed out.

"Thanks, guys." I smiled as they all gathered around me.

"So, we were thinking. How would you like to join us?" Daphne asked. "Why don't you join the gang."

"Really? That sounds amazing! But won't me being pregnant cause problems?" I looked at all of them in shock.

"If it becomes too much, you'll be more than welcome to sit things out." Velma said. My heart swelled with joy at being able to join my favorite mystery solvers.

"Of course, I'll join you!" smiled as Daphne squealed and hugged me.
