First Days

The vibration of my wand going off roused me from sleep and I was confused as to where I was until memories of last night resurfaced. Oh yeah, I work for KISS, they are intergalactic superheroes and I told them I'm a witch. Sighing heavily, I grabbed a pair of ripped skinny jeans, and a Louder Than Life t-shirt before slipping into the bathroom to change and tame my hair. With the help of some slick-eaze and magic, I had it tamed and braided before going into the kitchen to start on breakfast for the band. It was half after eight when I heard movement coming from the bedrooms. I grabbed plates, cups, and utensils for the band as the coffee stopped brewing filling the bus with the smell of breakfast. Everyone started emerging as I pulled the quiche lorrain out of the small oven and placed it on a potholder to cool while I diced up fruit and set out milk, juice, and the coffee with sugar and creamer on the counter. Since I wasn't a big eater, I had some fruit while cooking.

"Morning." I greeted as the men filed to the table in various states of wakefulness. The response was mumbled greetings. Grabbing four mugs and the coffee, I placed one in front of each of them and poured the coffee before grabbing the cream and sugar for them. I wasn't sure how they drank their coffee.

"I'll bring over breakfast." I said turning towards the kitchen. Quickly I cut into the quiche and plated it before placing fruit on the plate as well. Waving my wand, I levitated to the food to the table before grabbing the cups and juice. "Here you all are. Quiche Lorrain with a fruit medley. I have muffins in the oven if you all are still hungry."

"How did you have time to make all this?" Paul asked looking up from his coffee.

"A witch never tells her culinary secrets." I gave him a small smirk before pouring orange juice for all of them. "Let me know if you all need anything else."

"Damn this is good." I heard Ace state as I started on the dishes from cooking. Sure, I could have used magic, but I wanted to kill time, so I did them by hand.

"I'm glad you like it." I gave him a brief nod before turning back to the dishes. Once they were on the drying rack, I turned back to the men. "Do you guys want anymore?"

I received nods in return and cut up the rest of the quiche before carrying the pan over and giving them each a slice until none was left.

"What about you?" Peter looked up at me.

"I had some fruit while the quiche was baking. Not really a big eater." I shrugged going back into the kitchen to bring out the muffins.

"That's not healthy." Gene scoffed.

"When you live your life being taunted by a psychopath for a brother, you do what you can to survive." I stated placing the still hot muffins on a plate. Steam curled off them as I placed them on the table with butter. "Where do you want me to start cleaning first. I took care of the kitchen, living room and the one-bathroom last night as I wasn't quite tired."

"My room could use a good cleaning and my laundry needs done." Ace piped up.

"Any special requirements for laundry. I normally do borax, scent boosters, and detergent." I said stepping around the table to refill coffee.

"That's fine, though we don't have those scent booster things." Peter nodded.

"What about your costumes? Or do those get dry-cleaned?" I placed the coffee back on the warmer and grabbed my wand off the counter. "Anyone else need laundry done?"

Paul and Gene nodded.

"We have color coded laundry baskets in our rooms." Paul said.

"Alright. I'll get started on laundry." I nodded walking back towards the rooms.

I went into Paul's first and saw his room was pretty tidy, but still a bit messy. Waving my wand, I gathered the stray clothing on the floor and placed it in the purple basket before taking it to the laundry area on the other end of the bus. Once I was in the laundry closet, I found another purple basket and sorted out the whites and underwear from the reds and blues. I saw they did have borax, so I measured out a little bit before tossing it into the washer with his whites. After his first load of laundry was going, I returned to his room to start cleaning. From the way Ace talked about his room, I decided to work on his last. It worried me. Peter's room was like Paul's, and I staged his laundry to be sorted and washed next. Gene's room was chaotic, but not terrible. His room took me an hour and half to do and get his laundry ready for sorting after Peter's. It was nearly lunch time, so I whipped up a grilled chicken salad with a homemade garlic and herb vinaigrette and gathered the dishes from breakfast to wash.

"Need any help?" a voice behind me suddenly said making me startle and drop a plate. It shattered on the floor and I winced. Looking to the source of my startling and saw it was Paul.

"No, I'm good." I sighed repairing the plate and cleaning up the water on the floor. "You startled me."

"I tried getting your attention, but you were so focused on your work." He rubbed his neck. "I apologize for scaring you."

"It's fine. Lunch will be ready soon." I said turning back to the dishes.

"If you need a break, you can take one." he assured me.

"I'll be okay. My thoughts are the last thing I want to be around." I waved him off and began scrubbing the forks clean. Once dishes were done, I switched out Paul's whites for the colors and got Peter's clothes sorted. Coming back to the main area, I saw the guys watching TV. Turning back to lunch, I made some fixings for chicken tacos as well. "Lunch!"

At my announcement, the guys meandered to the table and I placed the salad and taco stuff on the table with plates and cutlery.

"What would you all like to drink?" I asked.

"Coke." Gene

"Water." Peter

"Beer." Ace

"I'll have tea." Paul said.

"Sure, I made some this morning." I nodded grabbing the preferred drinks and the pitcher of southern sweet tea I made while cooking breakfast as well as a glass of ice for Paul. "Here you go."

I passed out the drinks and poured the tea into the glass of ice for Paul.

"Let me know it you need anything else." I said putting the tea on the table and steeling myself to tackle Ace's room. Just nearing his door, I could smell something. Pushing it open I had to cover my nose while shouting. "Merlin's saggy ball sack! ACE! Your room is a pigsty!"

Loud obnoxious laughter was the reply before a growl came from Gene.

"We told you to keep it straight!"

Casting a Bubble-head charm on myself, I took out my wand and gathered his clothes. Even with magic his room was going to take ages to clean. Groaning in defeat, I placed a charm over his door to prevent the smell from filling the whole bus. Gross, there were used condoms everywhere and beer bottles and cans just as abundant. Even with the charm on me, the stench made my eyes water as I worked on vanishing the trash and filth before opening the window to air out the room. As I was gathering up his very nasty bedding, I heard a chuckle at the door. I looked to the source and saw Ace leaning against the door jamb smirking widely with his arms crossed.

"Having fun, Princess?" he teased.

"Oh yes, I just love cleaning up after animals." I drawled in an overdramatic southern drawl. "Go back to your show, so I can sanitize this whole room."

"Awe, don't be like that." Ace stalked into the room stepped real close to me. I had to look up as I'm only five foot. "Wow you really are a looker."

"Please leave me to work in peace." I stated inching around him. I made to go to the door and grab his laundry basket when I felt a squeeze on my ass. "Did you just grab my ass?"

"So? It's so tight and perky." he smirked. I grit my teeth and let my eyes take on a cat like appearance.

"Back off." I growled grabbing his laundry and storming out of his room.

"Awe, don't be like that Princess. It's just a bit of fun." Ace mock pouted following me into the main area.

"You think grabbing my ass when I didn't give you permission too is cool? That's fucking Hazing you Jackass!" I snarled rounding on him. "I'm here to make the band's life easier since I have nowhere to fucking go. I did not ask to end up in a parallel world to my own. Let alone be sexually harassed!"

"Woah, what's going on here?" Paul jumped up from the couch and managed to push his way in between Ace and I.

"He grabbed my ass as I was on my way out to take his laundry to be sorted and washed." I spat turning on my heel and storming off to the laundry room.

"Are you out of your damn mind?" Peter exclaimed. "She's a magic user. Do you know what she's capable of?"

"So? She's tiny, all she's done is simple magic to clean with. What could she really be capable of?" Ace scoffed.

"I can kill a man with two words, cause so much pain with one that it could leave you a vegetable, or incinerate you. But I don't because those are curses and illegal." I hissed shoving past the guys to go back to Ace's room to finish cleaning.

This time I placed a barrier on his doorway so that he couldn't get in while I cleaned. After a few more hours, I had his room done and was working on ironing and folding Paul's clothes after making dough for dinner rolls. The guys said they wanted steak for dinner as tomorrow they would be arriving in Austin, Texas for their next show. I had obliged and got the steaks seasoned and marinating while I finished Paul's laundry and took it to his room for him to put away. Peter's laundry took me while the guys were eating dinner, and Gene's was in by the time they were finishing dessert and relaxing or doing various tasks. I spent the rest of the night finishing laundry and returning it to their respective owners before I myself finally had a chance to relax. Though that didn't last long as the funk from cleaning reached my nose.

"Damnit." I groaned pushing myself to my feet and grabbing my bag before slipping into the bathroom and locking the door. I did not need a surprise visitor. Getting the water nice and hot, I stripped out of my sweaty clothes and stepped under the water. "Ugh. Much better."

The water was soothing, and I could feel myself relaxing. Humming softly, I then broke out into full song.

I got a lot to say to you, yeah, I got a lot to say
I notice your eyes are always glued to me
You're keeping them here and it makes no sense at all

They taped over your mouth
Scribbled out the truth with their lies
Your little spies
They taped over your mouth
Scribbled out the truth with their lies
Your little spies

Nothing compares to a quiet evening alone
Just the one, two, I was just counting on
That never happens, I guess I'm dreaming again
Let's be more than this...

"Ava? Is everything okay?" a knock sounded on the door making me startle a bit. Was that Paul?

"Uh, yeah. Why?" I poked my head out of the shower.

"Just making sure, I heard voices." he replied. I sighed heavily.

"Give me a minute." I stated rinsing all the soap off and grabbing my towel. Stepping out of the shower after turning off the water, I wrapped myself up and unlocked the door before poking my head out. "Sorry if I woke you up."

"No, not at all. I was just putting my clothes away when I heard singing. Wasn't sure if it was a radio or someone managed to get on the bus." Paul rubbed his neck. He was obviously avoiding looking at me.

"That was me. I was the one singing. Should have put a silencing ward before I got in. Sorry." I nervously chuckled. "I'll make sure it doesn't happen again."

"Don't be. You actually... have a lovely voice." Paul rubbed his next before clearing his throat. "Well, it's getting late and I'm sure you're exhausted. Besides, we all have a busy day ahead of us. Good night, Ava."

"Night, Paul." I gave him a small smile before closing the door and getting dressed.

"Was that seriously her?" I could hear Ace ask.

"With a voice like that, she'd be good for female vocals in future songs." Peter admitted. How sweet of him. It's what I was going to L.A for.

Once I was dressed and my hair dried, I braided it back before leaving the bathroom after giving it a quick cleaning. The bus was dark as I made my way to the couch that had become my bed. Tomorrow was going to be far too busy. Settling into the pillow and cushions, I laid there in the dim lighting watching the darkness outside. I wondered how Aunt Hermione and Uncle Ron were taking the news of my disappearance. Rolling onto my side, I held up my hand in the darkness. The low light reflecting off the ruby of the ring symbolizing me as the head of the Potter family caused tears to well up. After the War, my father didn't marry Ginny Weasley, he married my mother, Cassidy Ryder. He took her name while in the U.S but carried his own family name while in the U.K. I do the same as he did, damn my brother for causing the accident that killed our parents. Pressing the ruby to my lips, I stifled a sob as my aunt and uncle have to not only stress about losing my parents, but me as well. But considering that I have everything from the family vault, the Potter Estate, and the Invisibility Cloak, my brother has nothing that he can use. Not even our father's name and fame. Everyone in the wizarding world knows that it was my brother who caused the accident, but with no active evidence and him being born completely mundane, not even a squib, Veritaserum is useless against him. Sleep eventually found me as I laid there in the darkness.

My alarm going off woke me up early the next morning eliciting a tired groan from me.

"Another day, only this one has a concert involved." I muttered getting up and grabbing my clothes for the day. I decided on a pair of leggings, a hoodie dress, and uggs for the day and would change into a different outfit for the show.

Once I was dressed, I set about making a large breakfast for the guys as they'd haver rehearsals all day. So, I set about making waffles, different kinds of eggs, sausages, fried potatoes, bacon, and a side of mixed fruit. I was just setting the table when the guys began trickling out of their rooms. Mugs of hot coffee already waited for them alongside milk and juice whichever they chose. I greeted them before setting about cleaning and taking stock of the pantry and fridge. A quick-quotes-quill wrote everything I listed off as needing.

"What are you doing?" Gene asked.

"Making a grocery list." I replied with a hum. "I found some loose cash in my change purse. Guess my mother stashed it away for emergencies. Not much, just a few hundred dollars. Should be enough for groceries."

"We have a card for that." was the reply. "Shouldn't have to use what little money you managed to scrape together and waste it all on us."

I looked at the bassist with a confused look.

"I... hadn't thought of that. Apologies for not bringing up the matter of groceries yesterday." I bowed my head before going back to taking stock. "Call out any special requests. The quill will write it down. And don't worry, it's charmed to only respond to groceries."

By the end of breakfast, five pages had been filled with foods, personal hygiene, and various things like socks and underwear along with sizes and colors. I had made a personal list of things and was going to tuck it into the pocket of my dress when it was snatched out of my hands. Looking up, I saw Gene reading it before he handed it back to me with a black card.

"Buy your things with the card. You're living on the bus now." He grunted.

"Thank you." I managed to say.

"Those bags you have, they hold more stuff than they should. How is that possible?" Peter stated.

"Well, it's because of a charm. The Undetectable Extension Charm. It allows a witch or wizard to expand a space for storage or even another room." I explained.

"So, it could be used on a closet to create essentially a bedroom?" Peter asked.

"Yes. Magicals use the charm on tents for comfort when camping." I nodded folding the lists and tucking them in my pocket while I slipped the card in my wallet. "Why do you ask?"

"Well, that means you could have your own private room on the bus and not have to sleep on the couch." Peter replied making me pause. "Without us needing to get a bigger bus."

"I'm so fucking stupid." I groaned slapping my forehead. "So, is there a closet in the hallway or the common area I could use?"

"Not a closet, but there is an empty cabinet in the entertainment center." Paul beckoned me over as he opened a tall cabinet door. "Would you be able to fit through this?"

"Magic would make it temporarily expand when I need in and out." I hummed taking out my wand and starting on the spells necessary to create a room the size of my old one at Potter Estate.

"Well, it's yours to do as you please." Paul gave me a pat on the back before stepping back. "We'll be arriving at the Sam Houston Coliseum soon."

"Okay." I mindlessly acknowledged as I stepped into the now expanding room and closing the door behind me.

Once the room was where I liked it, I stopped the charms and placed stabilizing runes on the walls before color covered them. Placing my bag in the middle of the room, I opened it and pointed my wand before casting an unpack spell. Furniture and my belongings began flying around before settling into place until the room looked like mine did at Potter Estate. I was placing charmed picture frames on the wall behind the curtains when a knock came from the door. Using magic I had my room essentially auto-finish decorating and went to the door and opened it to see everyone standing there expectantly. Shaking my head, I moved to the side and let them in.

"It's not quite like my room back home, as you can feel the bus moving. And no one will be none the wiser that it exists." I chuckled as they all filed in and looked around in awe.

"Can you do this to our rooms?" Ace asked.

"The others sure, but you? When Hell freezes over. It'll be trashed in a heartbeat." I snorted going over to where the picture frames finished putting themselves up and tapped my wand on the glass. "These frames hold enchanted glass that can mimic windows. So, it's like any room on this bus, but can't be seen from outside. Total privacy."

"Harsh." Ace whined. "You wound me, Princess."

"That's Marchioness to you. My family is English nobility." I gave him a sharp look. Ace only laughed obnoxiously before dramatically bowing. "Anyway. I'm pretty sure this big ass building outside is our stop. You guys have rehearsals and I have grocery shopping to take care of."

I gave my pockets a pat to make sure the card and lists were there. Today was going to be a long ass day and an even longer night.
