PERSISTENCE
Y/N
As I entered our shared apartment, Sana glanced up from her book and furrowed her brows at me. "Why the long face? You look like you've seen a ghost," she remarked, concern lacing her voice.
I exhaled heavily and dropped my bag on the floor. "Is it that obvious?" I asked, my shoulders slumping.
She gestured for me to sit beside her on the couch. "Spill it. What's been bothering you?" she inquired, her eyes full of empathy.
I hesitated for a moment, unsure if I wanted to burden her with my worries. But then I realized that was what friends were for. "I just had a tough day," I admitted. "Everything seems to be going wrong, and I don't know how to fix it."
She listened intently, her eyes full of understanding. "I'm here for you, you know that, right? We'll figure it out together."
She nodded, prompting me to spill the reason behind my troubled state. "My father called me to his house today, and he dropped a bomb on me," I confessed, the weight of the revelation lingering in the air between us.
"What did he say?" her curiosity matched with her concern; her eyes fixed on mine as if trying to decipher the thoughts swirling in my head.
"He told me that Joshua wants to marry me," I confessed, my tone laced with frustration and disbelief. "I hate him, Sana. I hate Joshua. He's a sick idiot. Why is he so adamant?" I ranted, feeling a mix of anger and helplessness washing over me.
Sana listened attentively, her brow furrowed in concern. "I can't believe your father dropped such a bombshell on you like that. And Joshua? Ugh, he's insufferable."
I nodded, grateful for her understanding. "I just can't fathom why Joshua is so hell-bent on marrying me. I've made it clear that I have no interest in him whatsoever."
She frowned, deep in thought for a moment. "You know, Joshua can't handle rejection. Maybe that's why he's been hounding you. You did reject him pretty harshly last time."
I groaned, burying my face in my hands. "I regret ever meeting that guy. He just can't take no for an answer." She patted my back reassuringly. "Don't worry, we'll figure this out together."

I was resting in my room when Sana suddenly burst in, looking quite flustered. "Your father is here to meet you," she announced solemnly. I sighed, knowing all too well why he had decided to pay me a visit after all these years of absence. I reluctantly made my way to the living room, where my father was waiting impatiently.
He wasted no time beating around the bush. "Listen, I need you to marry Joshua," he demanded bluntly. My fists clenched in rage at his audacity. How could he be so cold and heartless, not caring about his own flesh and blood?
I gazed at him with a mixture of disgust and disbelief. "Are you serious? You think you can just waltz back into my life and dictate who I should marry?" My voice dripped with venom as I confronted him.
He shrugged nonchalantly, clearly unfazed by my anger. "It's for the good of the family. Joshua is a suitable match, and this alliance will benefit us greatly," he explained, his tone icy and unyielding.
I narrowed my eyes, feeling the heat of my fury rising. "I will not be treated like a chess piece in your game of power and control. I will not marry Joshua or anyone else against my will," I declared fiercely, my voice ringing with determination.
My father's expression darkened, and he raised his voice menacingly. "You will do as you're told, or there will be consequences. Don't test my patience, young lady, don't forget who you're talking to" he threatened, his eyes burning with anger.
I spat out the words, dripping with venom. "I know exactly who I'm talking to. A heartless man who values his reputation over his own flesh and blood."
Without another word, I turned on my heel and stormed out of the apartment, the sound of my slamming the door echoing through the hallway.
As I walked away, I could hear my father's voice calling after me, but I paid no heed.
I stormed into Joshua's office, my heart pounding with a mix of anger and determination. Joshua, sitting behind his desk, looked up at me with a devilish smirk, his eyes scanning me up and down.
"You finally decided to grace me with your presence," he said mockingly.
"I will never, under any circumstances, marry someone like you!" I snapped, my voice filled with venom. "And if you think my father's business deal is going to force my hand, you're sorely mistaken."
Joshua's smirk only widened as he reached for a pen on his desk. "Oh, sweetheart, you don't need to worry about your father's deal. I have other ways of getting what I want."
I glared at him, refusing to show any sign of fear. "You won't have me, Joshua. I have no intention of being with a conniving, manipulative snake like you."
Joshua let out a cruel laugh, the sound sending shivers down my spine. "Oh, darling, you think you have a choice in the matter? I will have you, one way or another."
My blood boiled at his words, and I felt a surge of defiance rise within me. "You can try all you want, but I will never submit to you," I hissed, my voice trembling with rage.
He chuckled, standing up and walking around the desk towards me. "Oh, but I love a challenge, especially when it comes in such a captivating package."
I felt a shiver run down my spine, a mix of fear and disgust at his words. As I turned to leave his office, I couldn't help but feel a chill run down my spine. Joshua's words haunted me, I couldn't shake the feeling of dread that settled in the pit of my stomach.
As I trudged towards my apartment, the weight of the day's events bore down on me like a heavy burden. Silent tears flowed down my cheeks,
I wiped my tears with the back of my hand, but they kept flowing, a never-ending stream of heartache and frustration. How could I continue to bear this burden, this weight that threatened to consume me whole?
As I reached the familiar building where I lived, I paused for a moment to collect myself. I took a deep breath and wiped away the tears that blurred my vision, but they fell again unabated. The pain of betrayal was sharp and raw, lingering like a shadow over my heart.
Inside my apartment, the silence enveloped me like a cocoon. I sank onto the couch, feeling the exhaustion seep into my bones. The events of the day replayed in my mind like a broken record, each moment etched with a mix of anger and hurt.
Exhausted in every sense of the word, I collapsed onto the bed, letting the tears flow freely as I buried my face in the softness of the pillows. Sleep was my only refuge, my sanctuary from the harsh realities that awaited me outside these four walls.
