Chapter 4-Stealth

Meanwhile, in another world, it was a lifeless, grey plain all-natural life that seemed to have died and been withered from existence itself.

Sombra didn't care as he sped through the land like a shadow of a blur undetected and unseen.

He kept on moving without the slightest sound before he stopped and detected tracks in the ground.

Coming to a stop and dropping to one knee he held his clawed palm over the tracks and a series of scenes flashed through his eyes.

He saw a group of people walking towards some unseen destination and they varied greatly in appearance; one seemed to be an angel, while another seemed to have been a member of some draconic species if his large dragon-like wings were anything to go by.

He also stopped a very short girl wearing black a girl who radiated a lot of fire with rich-skin, a very tall bare-chested man whom the short girl stuck close to, and two very tall figure's who's auras struck him as odd they were ancient aura's not something that he was used to.

And finally-bingo! The white-haired girl who was slowly starting to fall behind must have been Frost.

The scenes vanished and his vision was replaced with the dull, grey, and lifeless field again as he looked on into the direction that the group was headed.

That was one of his many abilities; he wasn't just an assassin, he was also a tracker.

This meant that he could basically "scan" an imprint in the ground or an object and see Basically, the most major events to happen to that area/object for the past 24 hours.

Scanning the ground around him he noticed no-one had followed him-no surprise there, however, even though it was always safe to check.

Making sure he was clear he became a shadow again and took off in another blur.

He remembered that if he did run into the group, not to engage them unless he had no choice, he didn't intend to harm any of them but he wouldn't stand by and let them simply attack him.

He came to a forest and scanned again.

He got the same results except he realized that the group had stopped to look at something...something big.

He turned around and headed back for about thirty seconds and then realized.

"I'll be damned...the great bull demon Morgur..look at you reduced to nothing but a mere skull without its body laying in the middle of this lifeless plain," He stated as he walked up to the massive and frankly white heavy skull of the former bull demon.

Sombra had actually met the general on several occurrences-a great lumbering brute all muscle and no brains-he could best any demon in a physical fight but a child could outsmart him.

He was never really fond of the general, Sombra thought that Morgur was a great, lumbering dumb brute-while Morgur thought Sombra was a coward for his shadow and stealth capabilities.

"Only in the next life will you learn," Sombra said silently before turning around and giving his skull a gentle pat and vanished yet again and ventured into the forest.

Firefly having escaped her snow-pile was in the center of what appeared to be a large human city with probably dozens of humans walking every which way direction possible (no not up into the air and down into the ground).

Firefly had finally got inspiration from some moving pictures she had spotted from inside some buildings.

Sometimes people glanced or stared at her which made her slightly uncomfortable but she wasn't about to cut them in half with her sword or burn them alive with her Hell-fire (Hell-fire was horribly effective against the average human it was honestly borderline overkill typically claws and some punches were enough to kill the average human) but even still she hated the idea of complete genocide and killing innocent creatures without reason.

He imagined that they stated at her because of her feat of wearing shorts and a shirt in this seemingly freezing cold weather.

She just shrugged them off and walked back through an alleyway.

Along the way, she had seen a story from one of those moving screens that talked about a certain ice friend of hers and her feat at some school what seemed to be a "decade" ago.

The difference in time between this realm and the ninth plain of Hell was giving her a massive headache.

She had spotted the story and read through it and honestly seeing it made her chuckle.

She also saw the report about Frost’s adoptive parents being killed which Firefly felt a twinge of sadness and sympathy.

Frost could be a hardass, but she was also one of the most loyal demons Firefly knew.

She walked by the house that must have been the family’s home and spotted it's ruined structure and destroyed frame.

"Well, memories of the past huh?" She said to no one but herself as she walked behind the house and made sure no-one was watching and vanished into another portal.

Sombra sped through the forest without a sound when he came to a stop when he spotted a structure within a clearing.

Peeking out he spotted what appeared to be a large wooden hut with a fireplace that had been rapidly put out.

He also detected wards around the building and while they were potent he still became intangible and phased straight through the wards.

He walked over to the fireplace and found the property clear of all life as he knelt down and scanned the fireplace.

He saw a rapid series of scenes again.

The group he saw from earlier had used this fireplace to tell each other stories and seemingly get to know each other.

He also saw the massive male human-like being's eyes flash in anger and let out a bright white light that burned first somewhat who spat in anger in return.

Frost had mentioned how she was the "daughter" of Vivitullus which seemed to have certainly struck a nerve with whoever the very tall humanoid was.

He also saw the one with rich skin from earlier say.

"Where's the bloody angel!?"

And with that, the group had taken off into the trees and looked to of headed..north.

He ceased his visions that was all he needed.

He turned back and felt no souls within the hut and vanished into shadow again disappearing in the process.

He does north pick up a pair of individuals along the way but decides to ignore them as they didn’t have the aura that matched Frost’s description.

He came to the edge of the forest and saw a massive ravine.

And what do you know the group was there as well.

The dragon-boy had his arms wrapped around the angel’s waist and tried to lift her up but that was a bit difficult as a skinny and lanky humanoid creature had its jaws clenched across the foot of the angle and more of those creatures wher4 starting to appear.

He spotted the rest approaching the ravine before he heard a snarl behind him.

Three of those creatures appeared and he tilted his head.

*"Ah skinwalkers"* he realized

Vile, primitive beasts.

They didn't seem to have realized that he was in shadow form and thus wasn't considered a physical object as the three left at him.

He simply grabbed two of them with his claws as the third passed straight through him as he sucked the life out of the two he had grabbed and shot it back out of his palms.

The resulting energy blast launches the two now fed skinwalkers into branches which impaled them through the chest and waist.

The third tried to attack again but this time a spear-like tentacle shot out of Sombra's back and impaled the skinwalkers straight down the jaw and spine killing it instantly and he tossed it aside where it lay limp.

He got all the information he needed and turned into a shadow and vanished back into the ninth plain of Hell.
