Chapter 10-New allies

As a certain time turner in question rubbed his forehead in frustration.

"And, tell me again, how exactly did you fail?"

Before him, was one of the very few survivors of the failed bombing.

"T-they attacked us with machines-never before seen-" he was cut off by a swift kick to the head by the time turner in question.

"No excuses! Do not fail me again. Next time, you will have our secret weapon with you," the timer turner mused

"O-our secret weapon?" Stammered the soldier.

"There is one, who is willing to work with us and further our cause. I don't like her kind, but she is better than a few others in these plains," replied the time turner as he started to laugh maniacally.

Firefly was walking beside Nerozika down a hallway when she glanced over and asked her.

"So..is your shield sentient or something...is it like...attached to you?" she said awkwardly.

Nerozika gave an amused glance and mused.

"You're not very good at breaking the ice aren't you?"

A drop of sweat ran down Firefly's face.

"Hehe..no, not really," she said sheepishly.

Nerozika merely chuckled.

She then straightened herself and added, "But to answer your question...yeah, I guess you can say that. It acts as a regulator of sorts. You see I have some of the same powers as the endless and in the wrong hands... well, you get the idea right?"

"A lot of bad things will happen.." mused Firefly.

"Yep, I can break the foundation of realms and bridge the gap between realms if I so wish..not many at all have that sort of power. Although I've heard stories..."

Firefly glanced and tilted her head.

""Stories""? She repeated.

"I've heard stories about one certain individual, who existed long before humanity came around..she..or he, I'm not sure, used to be a Spector before she decided to take a humanoid form and live among humans. Well, long story short, she had the power to create life, and apparently, she created the world she resided on...For once my memory seems to be failing me," She said putting a finger to her chin.

Firefly shrugged.

"Never heard that kinda story before..but I'll admit I've never really been one for history," she admitted.

Nerozika shrugged.

"Yeah you don't seem the type..you seem like the type to charge into history and cause chaos," she said with a smirk.

"...okay you're not that off," Firefly admitted after a few moments.

"When you've lived as long as I have..you notice patterns in reality, the universe has a funny little way of working and don't even bother to try and understand it," She said with a small laugh.

"Yeah I don't intend to.." mused Firefly smiling slightly.

Nerozika then turned and asked, "It's been eons since I've last been down here-only thing that really seems to of changed is well-the demons frankly you guys are a lot more civilized than when I first arrived here when hell was first created, so remind me-how did Vivitullus become scattered again?"

Firefly glanced at her before speaking.

"It mostly started when he tried to upset what remained of the balance between the realms by sending a group of soul snatchers to capture a group of souls that had been destined for the heaven's and drag them down here, Frost once she realized that the souls had been stolen, refused to steal them and allowed the legion of angels that had attacked us to leave with the souls-this angered him and she was exiled," she stated.

"Seems like him," mused Nerozika.

"Afterwards, Frost escaped to the mortal realm known as earth where-okay keep this between you and me. She was adopted by a blessed family, a family in favor of heaven where she stayed with them for a year and even went to a human school-until she found that one of her teachers had been a demon in-disguise and following a brief fight sent him back to Hell-but for this Vivitullus sent his general-known as the spider demon for lack of better words. Her adopted family was murdered which drove her other the edge and she returned to hell fighting alongside a legion of angels. She fought through multiple legions of minions before she killed and absorbed the essence of three out of the four generals-Akure was one of them but he initially refused and was forced into servitude by Vivitullus-Frost knew this and spared him, before me and a few other...friends faced the Hell-lord and after a lengthy battle, Frost managed to defeat him-at least in this realm-a tad bit of his essence survived and possessed a priest in a village-and yet another battle occurred and he became scattered when Frost grabbed the holy sword he was using and plunged it through his skull. However, she was heavily wounded in the process and was forced to hide in a cave at the bottom of a snow-covered mountain."

Nerozika looked thoughtful then said simply.

"I see"

-------------------------------------------

After a few more minutes of walking, they ended up in a large open hanger-like chamber as Firefly looked to one of the minions bowing to her and asked.

"What do we have?".

The minion stood and gestured to three Drakon aircraft.

"We got reports of enemy scouts near our borders— we fear we may have another attack coming our way— would you like to join us Hell-lord?" asked the minion.

Firefly glanced at Nerozika who shrugged.

"Sure, I reckon I should get a handle on how these thing's work anyway," she said as the knight-minion nodded and turned around, heading to his own fighter.

After a few moments, she slid into the fighter and felt the pointed "roof" lower down as she lied on her stomach— not too uncomfortable she had to admit— though it did feel odd for obvious reasons.

She looked down at the pair of levers in front of her. As she gently grasped both of them, the machine hummed to life, responding to her touch.

She figured that it shouldn't be too hard to learn right?

She pulled back on the levers and the vehicle moved.

Right into the back wall.

"well shit," she said to herself.

"Uh-push them forward to go forward-" said the minion sheepishly.

"Right-sorry about that-" she sighed and pushed them forward.

This one held much more favorable results as she felt the machine move forward and out of the chamber.

It quickly caught up with the rest as Firefly spotted the two additional Drakons. After a few moments of messing around with the controls, she managed to fly relatively stable and slowly joined up with the other two machines.

"I think I got it now," Firefly said into the Drakon's communicator device.

"Alright, so a pack of imps and Hell-hounds reported a small group of hostile forces scouting our borders roughly five miles from our current location-and gaining rapidly," reported the minion.

"Well, let's not keep them waiting shall we?" replied Firefly.

Nothing else was said as the three Drakons pulled off and banked to the left, flying over a small canyon before the third Drakon pilot reported in.

"I got a visual —small raiding party —directly in front of us," he stated.

"Alright, let's go give them a proper welcome from the ninth plain of Hell," stated Firefly as the three machines aimed their noses at the group.

Quickly learning how to use the Drakons weapons in her head, she pressed a button on the levers. The blasters on the front of the machine glowed and fired out a rapid stream of plasma rounds, the two other Drakons quickly following suit.

The resulting fire tore through the small encampment of scouts and their pair of scouting balloons as the three jets pulled into the air and away from the area.

"Alright, that went well. Now, let's get back to the fortress," ordered Firefly.

The two minions offered no objections as the three jets turned to the right and started to head back to the Fortress.

It was going fine until Firefly got a feeling in her gut as she furrowed her brows in confusion as she began to speak up.

"Does anyone have that feeling like something is about to go..very wrong?" she asked

Before either two of the minions could reply a beam of energy appeared out of nowhere and slammed into the Drakon to her left, turning it into a fireball.

"son of a bitch-!" she snarled as she pulled to the left alongside the flight leader. They turned around and tried to see who had decided to test them.

To their surprise, a massive black and grey tornado spun roughly a kilometer away from their positions, and it got even more strange when more beams of energy shot out of the tornado. The flight leader fired his own orb of energy back, intercepting one of the beams and evading the first two before the fourth beam struck him. He and his Drakon were reduced to a fireball as well.

"Dammit-!" Firefly cursed as her Drakon began to turn off. She desperately tried to communicate with the fortress, but instead, the machine fired off an orb.

However, things got worse as she struggled to turn the fighter. Her controls began to lose responsiveness.

She knew that this wasn't a normal storm—tornadoes almost never happened in the ninth plain of Hell— earthquakes were far more common here than a damn tornado.

No, it couldn't be natural. It was demonic in origin, but she didn't know anyone who had the ability to do so.

"Shit!" She cursed as her craft began to spin out of control. After a few moments of spinning, it smashed into the ground.
