Cinder POV

"RUBY ROSE FALL FOR THE LAST TIME GET IN THE CAR!" I said angrily, "NO!" Ruby yelled as she ran inside.

"Ruby we don't have time for this or... or don't you want to go visit Grandma?" I said as I dragged her out of the house, "Gamma?" She said in confusion, "That's right we're going to Grandma's house." I said as I strapped her into her car seat.

Several hours later we arrived in Salem's domain. Ruby was just starting to wake up. I had given her a bottle of milk with just a little something to make her fall asleep.

"Mama where are we?" Ruby asked groggily, "Shh just go back to sleep baby girl we still have a few hours before we get to grandma's house." I said as she lied her head down on my lap and fell back asleep. "I love you Ruby doll." I said softly.

We had just arrived at Salem's castle when Ruby finally woke up only to be met by an alpha beowolf. "MAMA!" She yelped as she clung to me, "Shh it's alright honey, I won't let anything happen to you." I said as I rubbed her hair gently.

"Mama I'm scared." Ruby said as we walked down the dimly lit hallway, "I know honey, but I need you to be brave for Mama ok." I said. She nodded softly and hid her face in my chest.

It was understandable why she was afraid, even I'm scared. Not because of the grimm or of the building. I was scared of what could happen to Ruby. Salem could decide that she was nothing more than a nuisance and kill her or worse hand her over to Tyrian. At best nothing would happen to her and I ended up joining Salem once again.

"Ok honey things might get a bit scary, but I want you to stay by my side and I'll make sure nothing happens to you." I said as sat her down and held her hand.

"Cinder." Salem said as she looked at me, and slowly her gaze turned to Ruby who was hugging my leg and chewing her thumb. "Cinder leave us, I wish to speak with the child... alone." She said, I nodded fearing the worst, "Ok baby girl Mama has to go for a little bit. Do you think you can be brave for me?" I said as I bent down to Ruby's height, the scared toddler nodded nervously and I left.

Ruby POV

"Come here child." The scary woman said, I didn't want to make her mad so I did as she said.

"Do you know who I am?" The woman asked as she picked me up and sat me down on her lap, I shook my head, "I am Salem." She said, "G...Gamma Sawem." I said, "Hmm?" She hummed in confusion, "Mama said we were going to gamma house. And Mama said this your house." I said, "I see." She said, "What is your name child?" She asked, "Ruby." I said, "Well Ruby are you afraid of the grimm?" She asked, I nodded, "What if I told you that I could make sure that no grimm could ever hurt you again, would you like that?" She asked, I nodded, "If you join me then I can make that happen." She said, "What about Mama?" I asked, "If she agrees to my terms then she wont have to worry about the grimm either." She said. I thought about it for a moment, "Ruby would you like to see a magic trick?" She asked, I nodded and she sat me down and walked to the center of the room and she appeared to become younger and a ball of dark energy and fire appeared in her hands.

I stared at her in awe, "Can you teach me that?!" I asked, "No, but I can make you stronger than anyone in all of remnant." She said, "Now go get your mother." She said, "Otay Gamma!" I said as I ran to find Mama.

Meanwhile Yang POV

"That's it Yang!" Mama Summer yelled as I reloaded my gauntlets.

"Mama the dust keeps messing me up!" I complained, "Then adjust to compensate for it." Mom said, "I'm trying to, but nothing I do seems to help!" I said angrily, "Don't worry Yang you'll get the hang of it eventually." Mama Summer said as she hugged me.

Ruby POV

I ran out and found Mama sitting near a big fireplace. I ran over to her giggling, "There's my baby girl." Mama said as she picked me up and bounced me on her knee, "Mama Gamma Sawem wants you." I said happily, "Does she now, well then lets go." She said as she got up.

Cinder POV

"Yes "Mother" what did you need?" I asked while resisting the urge to vomit at the fact I called Salem mother, "Ruby dear could you go wait in the study for me?" Salem said, "Otay!" Ruby said and ran off. "Cinder... never call me mother again." Salem said, "What was I just supposed to drop my lie in front of her?" I said, "She's a good girl. So... easy to manipulate, it's almost cruel even for me." She said, "She's three, she will literally do anything she's told as long as it's someone we trust." I said, "I see, well I take it you'll be rejoining us." She said, "What do you mean rejoining you?" I asked, "You see Ruby joined me to keep you safe, only question is will you do the same for her?" She said, "Fine, but I will raise her HOWEVER I want, we will live WHEREVER I choose, and you will keep your promise to her." I said, "It's good to have you back Cinder." She said.
