Cinder POV

Ruby and I were watching a movie together. I hoped it would take her mind off everything that she went through earlier. "Mommy, are you going to get me a daddy?" Ruby asked, "Do you want a new daddy sweetheart?" I asked, "Hmm, I don't know. I love having a mommy, but I've never had a daddy before. So having a mommy and a daddy could be nice too I guess." She said as she looked up at me, "No, I've always had a daddy and he wanted to keep me away from you. I love you, Mommy." She said, "I love you too baby girl." I said as I kissed her on the forehead. "Oh look at the time! It's way past your bedtime little girl." I said as I tucked her in, "But Mommy I'm not even tired!" She said as she yawned, "Sure your not." I said as I shut the light off, "Goodnight Ruby doll." I said as I left.

"Cinder!" Emerald said as she ran up to me, "What are you two doing here?!" I asked in shock as she hugged me, "What are you talking about you texted us asking us to come." She said, "I didn't...Ruby!" I said, "Oh that girl what am I gonna do with her?" I said, "Ok so what's up with my niece?" She asked as she gave me a slight signal confirming what I already knew; Ruby was listening in on us. I had a feeling that she was following me, but I had hoped that she would just stay in bed like a good girl. "Well, she just found out about Qrow. She's not really taking it well." I said, "Well where is she? Maybe I can talk to her." She said, "Well she better be in bed if she knows what's good for her." I said just loud enough for Ruby to know that I knew she was there. A few seconds later I heard a small eep followed by a whoosh to confirm that she left, and to further the evidence a few small rose petals flew into the room and landed near my feet, "Did she?" Mercury asked, "She's got a speed semblance now, and being her mother just got that much more difficult." I said.

"Ruby doll." I said as I walked into our room, "Yes Mommy?" Ruby said with a clearly fake yawn, "I have terrible news, your father found Neo and took her!" I lied, "What! Mommy, you have to go save sissy right now!" She said worriedly, "I can't if I go then who's gonna look after you? Besides he probably killed her by now." I said, "W...What. Mommy go get Sissy, I want Sissy!" She said, "Sorry sweetie, but Qrow's got her now." I said, "S...Sissy." She said as she began to cry, "M...Mommy p...please go h...help Sissy!" She cried, "Honey, honey Neo's alright." I said as I wiped away her tears only to have them replaced by a seemingly infinite stream of tears, "R...Real...lly." She sniffled as she rubbed her eyes, "Yes really, but tell me did you like being lied to?" I asked, "N...No." She sniffled, "Well then why did you lie to me when I came in here and why didn't you tell me that you took my scroll and texted Mercury and Emerald?" I asked, "I...I'm sorry Mommy." She said as she calmed down, "I know baby girl, I didn't want to have to go that far, but Mercury said if I didn't then he was gonna throw all your cookies to the Grimm and make you watch." I said, "No not my cookies!" She said, "Don't worry I won't let him." I said, "Wanna go punish him?" I asked, "Yeah!" She said, "Alright but in the morning, now go to sleep for real this time little girl!" I said as I tucked her in again, "Ok Mommy." She said, "Good night baby girl." I said as I kissed her cheek, "Night night Mommy." She said as she gave me a kiss before I left, "Oh and Ruby doll if I find out you are not asleep or that you left this room you will be grounded and I'll throw out half your cookies." I said as I shut off the lights and left.
