Summer POV

"Mama." Yang said as she, "Yes dear?" I asked as I washed some dishes, "Mom's being weird again." She said, "What kind of weird?" I asked, "The same weird Uncle Qrow gets." She said, "Oh so she's drunk." I said, "SUMMER!" Raven yelled, "Yes Raven?" I said, "Give me a kiss." She said as she hung on me and puckered her lips, "Raven." I said, "Yes Summer." She said, "Have a cookie." I said as I shoved a cookie in her mouth, "And Yang that's why you should never get that drunk ever." I said.

Cinder POV

I decided to take Ruby and Snow to the park today since it was nice out. "MOMMY!" Ruby yelled, "RUBY!" I shouted worriedly as I ran over to her, "Mommy help me!" She said as Moon tightened his hug around her, "Its been a while Cinder." Rose said, "Rose?" I asked, "In the flesh." She said, "Mommy." Ruby said as she tried to break free from Moon's grasp, "Ok Moon dear I think Ruby's had enough." Rose said as she pulled Moon off Ruby, "I CAN BREATH AGAIN!" Ruby shouted happily as Snow jumped on top of her knocking the wind out of her. I couldn't help but laugh at this, "CINDER!" Someone yelled, suddenly Ruby was gone.

Ruby POV

"CINDER!" A man yelled angrily, 'I know that voice!' I thought as I got up and climbed into a nearby tree when Mommy wasn't looking. 'I was right it's Qrow Branwen!' I thought as I drew my training scythe and switched it from compact mode to weapon mode and jumped out at him.

"STAY AWAY FROM MY MOMMY!" I yelled as I slashed at him, "RUBY!" Mommy yelled as she grabbed me and ran away.

"Ruby honey are you alright?" Mommy asked, "Y...Yes Mommy." I said shakily as we ran into Mommy's secret hideout, "Baby girl that was very very brave, but I don't want you doing something like that ever again!" She said, "But Mommy he was going to hurt you!" I cried, "Sweetie Mommy can take care of herself, but it's so sweet of you to worry about me." She said, "Mommy are we safe?" I asked, "Yes baby girl, but we're gonna go stay with Grandma for a long while." She said.

Cinder POV

"I hope you're happy." I said, "Where is she Cinder?" Qrow asked, "Away from here. Away from you." I said, "I'll ask one more time." He said as he grabbed me and placed his blade above my throat, "Where is she?!" He asked, "Go ahead kill me, but you will never find her and then when Ruby learns that you murdered her mother she will come back to kill you." I said, "You really have her brain washed don't you." He said as he put his blade away, "No I don't. She's just a mama's girl." I said as I went back to packing for Ruby and myself.

"MOMMY!" Ruby shouted as I exited the bullhead, suddenly she transformed into a spiral of rose petals until she ran into me, "Mommy!" She said happily as she hugged me, "Honey do you have any idea of what you just did?!" I asked, "N...No. Did I do something wrong?" She asked, "No not at all baby girl. You used your semblance honey. I'm so proud of you." I said as I gave her a kiss on her forehead, "Mommy!" She complained, "Oh come on honey let's go see Grandma." I said.

"GRANDMA!" Ruby shouted as she ran to Salem and jumped into her arms, "Hello my dear. Are you alright?" Salem asked, "Uh hugh Mommy got us away from Qrow before he could hurt us." Ruby said sweetly, "Thank you once again M...Mother... for letting us stay here." I said, "Ruby my dear why don't you go to your room and unpack. You remember where it is right?" Salem said, "Ok!" Ruby said as she ran down the hall, "Cinder." Salem said, "I'm sorry my lady. I just thought that you'd prefer Ruby to think of you as her grandmother and not as..." I said, "And not as an immortal witch. Smart, but I'd like you to call me mom when Ruby is with us; Mother sounds far too overly formal for a mother and daughter relationship." She said, "Yes my lady." I said as my scroll began to ring. "I...I need to take this." I said as I walked out to the hall.

"Hello?" I said, 'Hey Cinder, about what happened at the park.' Rose said, "I am so so sorry, I gave Ruby that so she could start training and I guess she thought it was ok to keep it with her." I said, 'No not that, I mean I was gonna ask about the wooden scythe, but I meant why did you run?' She asked, "Because that man was Ruby's father, he wants to take her away because he doesn't trust me with my own daughter!" I said, 'Oh. I'm so sorry I didn't know.' She said, "Hey can you tell Moon I'm sorry, he didn't get to spend much time with Ruby and now that we're staying with my mother it's going to be a while till they can see each other again." I said, "I already explained things to him. He's pouting right now, but he'll get over it.' She said, "Thanks." I said, 'Hey be careful I worry about you two, and remember if you ever need anything please don't hesitate to ask.' She said, "I know; gees if I didn't know any better I'd say you're trying to act like my older sister or something." I joked, 'Hey don't talk to your big sister that way!' She joked, "Oh on a more serious note um do you think you would mind being Ruby's godmother?" I asked, 'I'd love to Cinder, hell she can even call me Aunt Rose if she wants.' She said, "Ok thanks. I'll talk to you when I can." I said as I hung up. "Mommy?" Ruby said, "Ruby! H...How much of that did you hear honey?" I asked, "What do you mean Qrow Branwen is my Daddy? I thought he killed Daddy before I was born." She said in confusion, "Honey Qrow is your father, but tell me would you rather have a Mommy who loves you or a father who wants to keep you as far away from me as possible?" I asked, "Mommy please tell me you're lying to me. I cant believe that my Daddy would hurt me!" She said, "Honey what do you mean he hurt you?!" I asked angrily, "He grabbed me and hurt me Mommy." She said, "Come here baby girl." I said as I pulled her into a hug, "Sweetie Qrow is not your father and he hasn't been in a very long time." I said as I petted her hair as I comforted her. "Mommy can we go play?" She asked, "Sure sweetie." I said softly.
