Chapter 9

It was Wednesday. You know what that means. AEW Dynamite has come once more and with it, a stacked card that saw recent rivalries still going while some new ones were to be started sooner rather than later. Y/N for example was finally going to do a promo that would lead into his first rivalry in AEW. The young man was quite nervous about this since it always took a special kind of mic skill to keep fans and viewers interested while the content of the script needed to be sold realistically. Nick and Matt talked to him for a good while to ease his nerves, Taz also gave Y/N a few pointers and even Hangman reassured him that he'd do great, no matter what. So when it was time to go out, Y/N took a deep breath and shifted his mindset to full on business.

Breathing in the cheers from the crowd and the overall vibe in the arena, Y/N smiled as he walked down to the ring. He received a pretty positive response from the fans which made him happy to be there again. Ever since going to AEW, his love for the business has been reignited intensely. Justin Roberts also had to smile when Y/N bumped fists with him before taking the mic and circling around the ring for a moment.

Y/N:" Check check...Haha, look who stands before you, guys and girls. There's a growing beast inside that's been built up for years. I am a motherfucking lion and I know no fear, so show no fear. Now the struggle is the root of all evil. What's that make you?...Well, I guess it makes me the devil to some, an angel to others. I know I'm one of the new guys and I got a lot to prove here, right?...Yeah, I thought so. But I won't back down. If there's anyone back there who got a problem with that, then say it to my face!"

Y/N then stood back, waiting for someone to actually walk out and face him. The lockerroom was full after all, so there had to be at least one person that was either brave or stupid enough to walk out when suddenly...

Yes, Sammy Guevara was answering the call right now. He didn't hesitate walking towards the ring before posing on the turnbuckle.

Sammy already had a smirk on his face when he actually got in with a mic in hand too, so the two would throw some shade at each other now.

Sammy:" I see you, Y/N. You're picking opportunities tonight, huh? I respect that. There's just a slight problem."

Y/N:" Oh yeah? What might that be?"

Sammy:" Me. You might be the new guy, but that doesn't mean I'll be pushed aside. You don't get things handed to you, you earn them."

Y/N:" Listen Sammy, you don't have to be worried about getting your spot stolen. Or do you really see me as a threat already?"

Sammy:" I see you more as a showstealer. Let's face it: you came here, because You wanted fame, money and exposure."

Y/N could just laugh at that in response while Sammy wasn't as amused. Both of them knew the business pretty well at the moment and gathered experience in their own ways, so they should've actually seen each other on a similar level. However, Sammy was having none of that.

Sammy:" What's so funny, you nobody?"

Y/N:" Nobody, huh?...

You just don't know who you're talking to, man. You think of me as a showstealer? Some kind of egomaniac? Dude, I never stole the show, I made it. You can do your flips and your show-off stuff while I do some serious work."

It was clear that Sammy got seriously annoyed now by Y/N who just leaned against the ropes. Two different worlds were colliding there right now and by the looks of things, everything was really close to boiling over.

Sammy:" You're just going to stand there?"

Y/N:" You wanted to shut me up, so why don't you do something about it?"

Y/N just waited for an incoming attack as Sammy took charge, but it was a futile attempt when Y/N reversed and turned the tables.

He delivered several European Uppercuts to Sammy to wear him down a little. With this being the starting point only, it was a matter of time until the full potential could be unwound. Yes, backstage it was a completely different situation with Y/N and Sammy actually getting along quite well, but in the ring like this they definitly knew what they had to do when Y/N now started stomping away at Sammy.

Y/N was in control right now and stepped back a bit to take a look at his work, seeing Sammy downed in the corner. Only few that really payed close attention noticed a bit of a change in his expression now as he straightened himself out and listened to the fans cheering him on. Getting such a reaction fueled Y/N very well, but he was cut short when Sammy finally brought some offense in.

This Clothesline was important for Sammy to buy himself some time to recover. He looked down at Y/N for a good moment and talked some more trash at the younger man while the fans boo'ed loudly, showing their hate towards 'The Spanish God'. He managed to ignore it though and approached the ropes near the corner.

Everyone thought Sammy was just going to leave or prepared for a big move, but no. Sammy just taunted the crowd for a while before he suddenly got caught and dragged back inside by an enraged Y/N who was far from finished.

Y/N made Sammy pay with a Rolling Cutter to really put him down for the night. He nodded to himself about that and got back up before taking his mic again.

Y/N:" You just started digging your own grave now, Sammy...This guy right here might be too much for you and I...will prove that more often than not. Watch your back wherever you go."

Those were the last words Y/N let out in front of the camera for tonight as he got out of the ring. He felt like this actually was a pretty nice way to start a first rivalry. Sammy could be a lot of fun to work with, so the coming weeks should definitly be exciting. Speaking of...

None other than Hangman Adam Page and the Dark Order walked onto the stage with Y/N looking at them with a raised eyebrow. For the last few weeks, several members of Dark Order teased Y/N about joining them, but nothing has ever been made official. He paced from side to side as all eyes were on him.

Adam:" It's all up to you, Y/N. We've had an eye on you since your debut. What do you say? Are you ready for some Cowboy Shit with Dark Order?"

John Silver specifically nodded frantically with a big smile on his face as everyone did the Dark Order sign while Y/N ran a hand through his hair. They knew he was great as a singles competitor, he could handle himself in Tag Team bouts and apparently his promo skills were convincing as well. It wasn't out of pressure or anything, but Y/N looked Adam right in the eye before they shook hands.

Now it was official: Y/N L/N has become an official member of Dark Order. He stood with the rest and now also raised his hand to do their signature sign, which was also the end of the segment when the show cut to commercial.
