Flamekit scampered out of the nursery with her fur fluffed out to twice it's size. "WHERE ARE YOU TWO FUR-BALLS!?!?"
She heard giggling from around the nursery corner. Flamekit stomped over to where she heard the sound. "You two fleabags better come out before I claw my way in!"
Flamekit heard a sigh and a frustrated grunt. "Fine fine. We're coming."
She nodded and helped her bigger brother Deathkit out of the bramble and swatted him with her paws. "That'll teach ya to put ants in my fur!" she said triumphantly.
"Oof! Uhhh... a little help please." a voice squeaked.
Flamekit grabbed Sparrowkit by the scruff and heaved him out if the brambles, then she jumped as she heard a new voice chime in.
"Getting a little stuck there, eh kits?"
Flamekit gasped "Shiningpool!"
Shiningpool's silver fur sparkled in the early dawn sunlight, it was only new leaf, but Flamekit could still see small clumps of snow in small corners in the shallow dip they lives in, protected by rocks, shrubs, and more rocks. "Shiningpool, I forgot to ask, why don't you have an apprentice?"
"Well," she said her voice smooth as honey "I was hoping to get one once you three are apprenticed."
"Really?!" Sparrowkit squealed.
"Yes!" Shiningpool said excitedly "But you'll have to wait for three more moons till that happens."
Flamekit sat in silence as she watched Shiningpool leave towards the fresh-kill pile.
'I want to be her apprentice!' she thought determinedly.
"Kits! Where are you?" a cheery voice called.
"Mother!" Sparrowkit screamed.
Snowfoot padded over, her fur looking like it had just been washed.
"What are you three doing?" she asked
"Being bored, there's nothing to do here." Deathkit complained.
"Ahh yes, well why don't you go and visit your father?" she suggested.
"Yaaaayyyy!" all the kits said in unison.

With Flamekit in the lead, she padded over to we're her father was talking to Nettlescar, the deputy. "Nettlescar, please organize patrols."
"Yes Barkstar" she said.
Right before Flamekit opened her jaws, she heard a rustling in the bushes as a patrol, led by Lamefoot, barged in.
"BARKSTAR! Stormclan is attacking!"
