Stormeye panted. Her pelt was all ruffled, and there was a scratch on her neck. Her littermate, Galefoot, drooped beside her. His ear had a nick on it, a gash on his side. 

With alarming eyes, she watched Flamestar stomp towards the snickering Mapleshade. "Go away," Flamestar growled.

"We will go away... in one condition." Mapleshade sneered. 

"What?"

"If... you give us three cats to be imprisoned. Do you want peace or bloody battles?"  Mapleshade taunted.

"T-three c-cats?" Flamestar gulped.

"Yes, and we will choose." Mapleshade cackled.

Flamestar looked to the other surviving leaders. Without Whitestar they looked a bit... lonely. 

The leaders looked at their clans and sighed. Then they looked at Flamestar and nodded.

Flamestar gulped and said, "yes."

Mapleshade's whole face lit up. "YES!" She roared. Then she yowled, "Give me Leafclaw..."

Leafclaw of IceClan cringed.

"Cherrywhisker..."

Cherrywhisker of CloudClan closed her eyes and fell down.

"and Stormeye." 

Stormeye gasped. She would be taken to the Dark Forest and be held prisoner there.

Galefoot's pupils turned round. "S-Stormeye... Y-you're..."

Stormeye stood up and walked towards Mapleshade calmly. She looked at Mapleshade's amber gaze and meowed, "You may torture me to death or anything, but as long I still stay loyal to my clan,  you will never touch a single whisker of them." Her fur remained slim and smooth, and her gaze was calm. 

Mapleshade's gaze hardened. "Then we'll train you as if you're a piece of crow-food," She rasped. "You will regret what you said. Our master plan is going to work." 

Stormeye rolled her eyes and stood behind Mapleshade, scowling. "You'll know." She let herself and the others shove her into the dark passage. 

She looked back one last time. She swept her gaze across the worrying cats, and her gaze rested on Galefoot. His face was screwed with worry, his pupils round. When he caught her looking at him, he looked away, trying not to show his sadness.

I'm sorry, Galefoot. I let you down.
