The royal blacksmiths
Pythor and the other snakes were at a pyramid to find the second fangblade. Ofcourse it was full with traps, so they sent Lloyd to get it. He reached the end but saw that the fangblade was gone. Making Pythor mad.
Meanwhile was the ninja looking at a hologram of a fangblade. "They might have the first fangblade, but there's three more. And we only need one to stop Pythor. They have a map, we don't. So how are we gonna find them first?" Nya asked and Jay thought a little. "If only we had part of the fangblade. That Way we could use it to locate the rest." Nya nodded. Suddenly Cole realized something.
"I got it." He ran and got a picture book. In it was a picture of a man holding a trophy with the fangblade inside. "That's the fangblade!" Jay exclaimed and Cole nodded. "Back home was always a big competition. And the winner got the bladecup. My dad won it many times." He smiled a little thinking about him. "You've never said that your dad did sports. What did he do?" Zane asked. "Oh. He was a blacksmith." Kaya looked at him confused. "My father was too. But I've never heard of that kind of competition." Cole shook his head and sighed.
"That's because he isn't a normal blacksmith. He's a royal blacksmith." He flipped the page to show his dad with his performance group. The others looked at him in surprise. "How did the fangblade become a trophy?" Kaya asked and Cole looked up. "It was given by a man who collects old artifacts. His name was Dutch? No Clutch. Clutch Powers. Anyway, the cup is given to the winner each year." Zane turned to him. "Who has it now?" All Cole could do was shrug. "I don't know. I haven't talked to dad in a long time." He said and Kaya smiled. "Then we give him a call." She suggested.
Cole quickly shook his head. "No, you can't! He thinks I'm at Marty Oppenheimer's school of arts. He wanted me to follow in his footsteps. But when I couldn't sing or dance, I ran away. If he sees that I can't dance, he knows that I've been lying in the letters I've sent him." He lowered his head in shame. "He doesn't know you're a ninja?" Zane asked and Cole shook his head. Kaya gave him a comforting hug. "Don't worry. We won't tell him. But we gotta get our act together, to get the fangblade before the serpentine." Cole looked at Kaya and smiled.
In the realm of madness was Wu and Garmadon climbing the mountain. Garmadon looked at the sky and sighed. "I'd hoped we would had reached the top before the moon rised. The Craglings have never missed a midnight snack." Wu's eyes widened at this. "Craglings? What is this place? There's no such thing in Ninjago." Garmadon turned to him. "They're creatures unlike any you've seen. And not all places exist to be found, brother. Sometimes, you must revel in the shadows to truly see the light." Suddenly, monsters of rocks started to attack them.
Wu got grabbed before Garmadon saved him. "Thanks brother. Just like old times?" Wu said and smirked. Garmadon smirked too. "Just like old times." They did spinjitsu together to defeat the Craglings
The ninja arrived at Cole's home and jumped down Infront of his dad's house. All dressed in their civilian outfits.
(Kaya's civilian outfit)
"Alright, hand them over." Cole said and held up a music case. "Ah-ah. But no mortal shall possess all four." Jay joked as they put in their weapons. Cole rolled his eyes. "Very funny." He closed the case. "Why can't we have our weapons again?" Jay asked and Cole sighed in annoyence. "I told you, my dad can't find out I'm a ninja. And I don't feel like making up excuses of why I'm carrying a giant scythe around. So just remember the plan. We find out who has the fangblade trophy, we snatch it, and then we get the heck out of town." The others nodded before Cole knocked on the door.
The voice of Cole's dad Lou was heard from inside. "Just a moment." Lou then opened the door and saw Cole. "Hey, dad. Long time no see?" Cole nervously laughed ask Lou glared at him. "What? Are you too good for the doorbell now?" He slammed the door shut, shocking the ninja. Cole rolled his eyes and rang the doorbell. "Welcome." The bell sounded and Lou opened again before hugging Cole.
"Haha. Come on in, son. It's been forever." He soon saw the others. "What did you bring? A quartet? Come in, come in. I've got a kettle of lemon honey tea on the stove." He lead them inside. His eyes then landed on Kaya. "You must be Kaya. My son have written a lot about you. You're as beautiful as he said you were." Cole blushed in embarrassment. "Dad!" Kaya just smiled and blushed a little aswell. "Thank you sir." Lou laughed. "No need to be formal. Call me Lou." Kaya nodded.
Inside, Lou handed them all a cup with tea. Music was playing and Cole looked around. Finding nostalgia over the place. His eyes landing on a picture of when he was a kid. With his mother hugging him. "Did my son tell you I broke my foot? It was the cha-cha. But I swear the percussionist had it in for me." Lou said and Cole rolled his eyes. "No, dad. I didn't tell them about your silly stories." This made Lou look at him. "Silly stories?" Kaya quickly spoke.
"Oh, what he meant was. We have been busy training at Marty Oppenheimer's School of Performing Arts." Cole nodded. "Right! Well you see, we have this final research paper on the history of Ninjago talent. And we really wanted to know how we get our hands on the Blade Cup?" Lou pointed at a picture of the bladecup. "You're talking about getting your hands on the Blade Cup? The most prized and heavily guarded award in all of Ninjago? The symbol of excellence in harmony and grace? You can't just get it, you have to earn it. You have to exhibit style. Perfect pitch. Push the boundaries of artistic license and win this year's Ninjago Talent Show!" They all looked at him before looking at eachother.
"Um, perhaps there's an easier way." Zane suggested and Lou looked at them. "Is this why you came? You knew I was injured, and when my quartet insisted we shan't go on. You four have come to take our place! Haha, ingenious! My son, bringing forth the next generation of the Royal Blacksmiths! Let me hear the sweet, sweet sound of harmony." Soon Jay and Zane sang. But it was terrible. Kaya covered her ears as Lou cringed. While Cole face palmed.
He turned to his dad. "Look, dad. We just need the trophy." Jay nodded. "Yeah, we're bringing home the gold and we want you to train us." Cole glared at him before Lou grinned big. "I've never been more proud. If you'll excuse me, I need to write a song about my feelings." He walked out of the room and Cole glared more at Jay. "What are you doing?" Jay just put his hands up in defence. "Look, we enter this competition so we can get close enough to the Blade Cup. Once we get the Fangblade, we leave town. How hard can this be?" A sigh escaped Cole before Kaya grabbed his hand. "Don't worry. It'll be okay." She said, making Cole smile.
What they didn't know was that the serpentine found out about the bladecup. And was planning to enter into the talent show themselves.
Later the ninja got trained by Lou. They all sang and danced their own parts before Lou stopped them. "Stop, stop. Ugh. If my ears weren't attached to my head, they'd be running away!" He walked up to them. "Kaya, love the energy so keep it up. Jay, you're giving a lot, but I need more. Zane, you're like a machine. Don't change anything. And Cole, try to act like you wanna be here." Jay whispered to Zane. "He's worse than Sensei Wu." Soon Lou turned to Cole.
"Okay, moving forward. Let's take a look at the big show-stopping climax. Cole, we can't have history repeating itself." Cole groaned. "Dad, it was Triple Tiger Sashay. I was only seven." The others looked confused. "What's Triple Tiger Sashay?" Kaya asked. "Only the most difficult dance move ever created." Cole answered and Lou nodded. "It's true. Many have tried, but it's never been successfully completed." Soon Cole glared at Lou. "Hence, my father thought a seven year-old could. But I ended up falling on my face, humiliating myself, and letting my quartet down." Kaya gently grabbed his hand, calming him down a little.
"If you're going to win, you have to go big! Alright, time for a break. Take five." Lou walked out of the room as the ninja looked at eachother. "Um, I'm starting to see why Cole is so closed off. It's cause he failed once. Is that why you ran away?" Jay said and Cole glared at him. "Look. I'll deal with my father, but let's stick with the plan. All we have to do is keep this charade long enough until we can get our hands on the trophy." Jay thought a little. "I don't know. I'm starting to think we can win this thing. But if you want. We'll stick to the plan." He said and Cole sighed.
In the realm of madness had Wu and Garmadon defeated all Craglings. They reached the top of the mountain. "The vortex back to Ninjago is just over that buff. Please, you first." Garmadon said and Wu smiled as he walked towards the vortex. "Though we live in two different worlds, I still see good in your heart, brother." Garmadon grinned. "The battle between our worlds is inevitable. You put too much trust in me." With that he pushed Wu over the edge. But Wu grabbed onto a rock. "But I came for your help to save your son. Did you lead me here just to destroy me?" Garmadon grinned down at him. "See you on the other side." He kicked Wu into the vortex before jumping into it himself. Both landed in Jamanakai Village and Garmadon laughed over being back.
That evening was the ninja making themselves ready for their act. But Jay and Zane had trouble with the steps. Cole turned to them. "Guys, guys! Let's not make this any harder than it needs to be. Just remember the plan. We steal the cup and go back home." Jay looked at him. "But this is your hometown, Cole. Don't you even wanna try to win it?" All Cole did was scoff. "Ugh, the only dance step I wanna perform is called. Get-me-out-of-this-nuthouse-and-let's-burn-these-memories-from-my-head." He said before hearing a familiar voice behind him.
"What?" He turned around and saw Lou with a shocked face. "You...you were going to steal it?" Lou said in disbelief. Cole sighed. "Dad, I didn't mean for you to hear that, but-but I'm glad you did. There's something I've been wanting to tell you. I haven't been training to be a singer or a dancer. I found something new that I'm really good at." He used spinjitsu and changed into his ninja suit, shocking Lou.
"I'm a ninja. And the truth is, if we don't steal that bladecup. The Serpentine will. And we need it to save the world. I know how ridiculous this sounds, but I'm proud of who I am, and I want you to be proud of me, too." Lou looked down before looking at him with a disappointed face. "I can't be proud of any son who thinks stealing is right. And I'm not gonna wait around, to watch you make a mockery of our family's legacy." He soon walked off.
Cole sighed before Kaya hugged him. Soon they all saw some snakes in disguise walking onto the stage. With the name 'Treble Makers'. They also saw Pythor who was disguised as a judge. As the real judge was in his stomach. "It looks like we're not the only ones planning to steal the Blade Cup. Pythor's here." Kaya said and the others looked at her. "This complicates things." Zane commented. Jay nodded. "Then I say we make our move. We can't risk losing out again. I say we steal it." Cole suddenly stopped them.
"We're not gonna steal it. We're gonna win this competition, but we're gonna do it our way." He smirked and the others nodded. They headed to change before Kaya got an idea. "You guys do it. I have something to do." The guys was confused but just shrugged. The Treble Makers finished their terrible, and Pythor ofcourse gave them 10 points. While he threatened the other judges so they gave 9. "And now The Royal Blacksmi.... Uh, hold on. Uh, this just in, there's been a switch. Taking the stage next is Spin Harmony!" The announcer called out.
Soon the three went onto the stage and performed 'The weekend whip'. Snakes tried to ruin it but the ninja fought them back. Suddenly Cole performed the triple tiger sashay onto some snakes. The audience cheered, except for the snakes. Cole smiled before the others hugged him. "Oh, he did it! The Triple Tiger Sashay! He's danced the impossible!" The announcer said before the three got two ten's from the judges, while Pythor gave them a two. Everyone booed as the ninja walked backstage.
"What do we do now?" Jay said before the announcer spoke. "And lastly, our last preformer. Kaya smith." Hearing this made the others looked shocked. "Kaya?" Said girl walked up to them. "Yup. You'd think I wouldn't preform?" She smirked and the other's eyes widened when they saw her outfit.
(Kaya's performance outfit.)
Cole chuckled and walked up to her. "You're special. You know that?" Kaya nodded and kissed him. "Good luck my love." He smiled before Kaya walked up onto the stage. With a breath she started to sing.
(New genesis from "One piece, film red". Sung by Ado)
The others eyes widened in surprise over her voice before everyone cheered. Even Pythor was shocked and it was like he was hypnotized, as he and the judges all gave Kaya ten point each. Pythor soon snapped out of the trance. "Wait! I didn't mean to give her ten!" He whined but it was too late. Kaya got handed the bladecup as the others walked up to her, celebrating.
Cole smiled and looked around. His smile falling over not seeing his father there. The ninja went backstage and cheered. "You were amazing Kaya! Never saw that coming." Jay said and Zane nodded in agreement. Kaya smiled and turned to Cole. "Cole is the real star. Preforming like that was great. I'm sure your dad would be proud of you." Cole smiled before Lou was heard.
"And I am!" Cole turned towards him. "Dad? You saw me dance?" Lou nodded. "I saw it all, son. I saw it all. More importantly, I saw you fight. Those Serpentine were up to no good, trying to steal the show, and I saw you stand up for what is right. I was wrong. Everyone is born with a special talent inside that's just been waiting to get out. And you were born to be a ninja." Cole smiled. "So you're not mad?" He asked. "How can I be? My son's a hero!" Lou answered with a big smile.
Suddenly Pythor slithered towards them. "Eh, sorry to interrupt your little family reunion, but did you know? That it's me, Pythor." The ninja stood ready. "You couldn't fool us, Pythor." Pythor grinned before signaling other snakes. They pushed heavy crates down onto them. Lou was about to be hit before Cole jumped over him protectively. "Cole!" The others shouted while Pythor slithered away with the fangblade, just leaving the cup. All three was still in shock before they saw Cole's scythe glowing with an earth brown light.
Soon Cole lifted all crates without any problem while glowing too. He threw the crates away as everyone looked at him in surprise. "He found his True Potential. Cole's found his True Potential. His relationship with his father must have been holding him back." Zane said. "He's indestructible!" Jay exclaimed. Kaya smiles proudly at her boyfriend.
Cole then stopped glowing and returned to normal, looking around confused. "Is everyone alright? What just happened?" He asked and Lou nodded before hugging him. "We're all okay, son." Cole hugged back. Later they all drank tea in Lou's house. "I guess the scorecard now reads, Pythor-two Fangblades, ninja-zero." Jay sighed and Cole chuckled. "Yeah, but all we need is one, and there is still two left to find." Lou then walked with a picture.
"It may not be the trophy, but it sure will look good on my wall." It was a picture of them all. The ninja smiled at it. "As far as I'm concerned, you're all my family now." Lou smiled at then and Cole smiled back. He looked at his father, Jay and Zane. And ofcourse Kaya. His beautiful girlfriend. How he felt happy to have them all in his life.
And he knew that his mother was proud of him.
