Peek-a-boo
On the upper deck was Kaya trying to use airjitzu to reach a flag, but she didn't manage to get so high and just fell. She, aswell as Jay and Zane, had gotten new armor made of deepstone. Making them immune against possession.
(Kaya's suit with deepstone armor)
"Almost." She said before trying again, getting closer but still falling. "Aww, just short. Like your temper, Kaya." Ronin said from the top of the flagpole, eating an apple. "Why don't you come down and say it to my face." Kaya hissed while glaring at him. Jay and Zane tried aswell, but they didn't get high enough either. "That wasn't airjitzu, that was failitzu. Or stupiditzu." Ronin teased before Wu came onto the upper deck. "To master the powers of airjitzu, we must uplift, not put each other down, Ronin." He glared at Ronin who was eating an apple.
"You close shop for a week, you gotta let me have some fun. Aren't nindroids supposed to be precise?" Kaya sighed. "These suits does make it harder to get high enough." Jay nodded. "Yeah, they're too heavy. Why can't we use our old ones?" He complained and Wu sighed. "These are embedded with deepstone. They will protect you from being possessed." Jay nodded. "Yeah, well, maybe the name, airjitzu, isn't uplifting enough. Maybe we need something more inspiring, like...cyclondo!" Suddenly he flew above the flag while grabbing it, aswell as Ronin's apple on the way down. "Hey!" Ronin exclaimed while Jay chuckled in glee. "Cyclondo." He laughed before Kaya nodded. "Impressive. Well I'm gonna check in on Cole." She said and walked towards Cole's room, meeting Nya on the way.
In there was Selena looking through her spell book. "Sorry Cole. Still no spells to turn ghosts back to humans, or do break ghost curses." She said sadly and Cole sighed sadly. "Great." Pyther looked at his dad and felt so sorry for him. Soon the sisters walked into the room. "No luck?" Kaya asked and Selena shook her head before heading out. "Don't feel like training?" Nya asked and Cole sighed in frustration. "In case you haven't heard, I'm a ghost. And don't tell me we can fix this 'cause we can't. This is just...who I am now." He reached for cup to pick it up, but his hand just went through it. "Ugh. I don't feel anything anymore." His voice full of frustration and sadness.
Nya looked at him with a gentle smile. "Sensei told us our paths in life are never a straight line. Take me for instance, I thought I was always destined to be Samurai X, but now I'm training to become the water ninja no matter how horribly awful I am at that. All I know is, ninja never quit!" She said and Cole sighed. "But I'm not a ninja anymore. I'm a ghost." Kaya sat next to him. "Then what do you do? I think that's something you have to answer on your own." Pyther nodded and sat next to him aswell. "You're still the best man I know, no matter how you look like." Cole felt his heart warm up as he smiled and managed to pull them closer to him, making them smile.
Jay walked into the room. "Misako's about to debrief us about the next clue." He told them. "We'll be there in a moment." Nya answered before Jay saw her ninja suit. "Looking good babe. But, you look good in anything you wear." Nya giggled. "Thanks babe." Jay nodded and walked before Cole looked up. "No. Thank all of you." He said while smiling with Nya and his family.
They all soon gathered in the briefing room, Misako standing by the projector. "Now that both Morro and you have airjitzu, it's time to turn our attention to the second clue, the sword in the cloud." She showed them the symbol and Zane nodded. "Me senses tell me it could be many a swords. Thar be the fire sword, the sword of destiny, the golden cutlass..." He talked like a pirate, making the others turn to Jay. "I thought you said you fixed his voice?" Kaya said and Jay chuckled. "I did. And then I made it better." Zane continued to list different swords while Pixal grunted. "I swear I'd kick Jay if I had my body." He said in annoyence.
"...the blade of ruin." Zane finished and Misako nodded. "Aye, Zane. And to add to your colorful account, there are many more swords, but it wasn't until Morro and his allies commandeered Nya's Samurai Mech that it all became clear. It's the sword of sanctuary, protected in the Cloud Kingdom." She informed and Ronin looked confused. "Heh, Cloud Kingdom? I know every square inch of Ninjago. There ain't no place called the Cloud Kingdom." Selena turned to him. "Because it's not in Ninjago. It's in the realm of destiny, a realm parallel to Ninjago, where everyone's destinies gets written." She said and the others was amazed.
Wu nodded at her. "You're right. And it can only be reached through the blind man's eye." He informed and Nya looked at him shocked. "The blind man's eye? You mean the powerful storm cyclone above the clouds? But its altitude is far too high for the Bounty to reach." She said and Misako thought a little. "Unless we ascend the tallest mountain in Ninjago. The Wailing Alps." She showed them a picture of it and Wu nodded. "Yes, the Wailing Alps. When the blind man's eye passes its peak, you four ninja will jump into the eye of the storm using airjitzu to cross over into Cloud Kingdom to take possession of the sword of sanctuary." The ninja nodded before Jay turned to Selena.
"You're coming with us?" Selena shook her head. "No. I'll stay here and read more about different artifacts. Maybe I can find what Morro's after." She answered and Jay nodded. "So this sword of sanctuary that we're after, what makes it so special?" Cole asked. "It's special because reflected within its blade, you can foresee your next opponent's next move." Wu answered. "Like a real life cheat code? Awesome!" Pyther gleefully said and got small chuckles from his parents. "And whoever gets it will have a huge advantage. This is about more than finding the next clue to the spinjitzu master's tomb. This is about saving my son. You cannot fail." Misako said and Kaya nodded. "Then let's gear up. We have one big mountain to climb." She said and the others nodded.
Soon they arrived at the mountain, feeling the cold coming from it. "It's getting really cold." Jay said while shivering. "Freezing if you ask me." Kaya answered before hearing a sneeze. She looked at Pyther who had a very thick jacket on. "I hate being cold-blooded." He said with a stuffed nose and Kaya walked up to him. "I think you should go inside sweetie. Get some hot chocolate and warm up. Before you get an extreme cold." Pyther nodded and slithered inside the ship. "Guys, we need down below." Nya spoke through the intercom before the ninja headed downstairs, jumping into their mechs.
"Without your mechs, you'll never be able to survive the extreme conditions on your own. I've also installed headsets into your hoods for easy communication. Try it out." Nya informed them and Jay turned on the headset. "Tell me Zane, how tall is this mountain?" He asked. "The precise elevation of the Wailing Alps be well over three leagues and twenty eight fathoms." Zane answered and Jay chuckled. "Zane's so much cooler." Pixal groaned. "Fucking idiot." He said and Zane sighed a little in annoyence. "Remember, once you get to the peak, you'll only have one shot to shoot the blind man's eye. Don't miss." Ronin informed them.
Cole started to get unsure. "I don't know, guys, you had time to practice. Maybe I should sit this one out." Kaya shook her head. "Don't even think about it. You may be a ghost, but you're still part of the team." Jay nodded in agreement. "And if it weren't for you getting the first clue, we wouldn't even be here." Nya turned to him. "So what are you gonna do, Cole? Are you in, or out?" She asked as Cole thought about it. Suddenly he looked up with a determined expression. "Open the hangar doors." He said and the others smiled before the ninja dropped.
They all cheered as they fell towards the ground, landing on the snow softly. But Cole landed right on his face. "Cole, are you okay?" Kaya asked and helped him up. "Gotta work on that landing. But I'm okay. Just a little hard controlling things with my ghost body." Cole answered and Jay nodded. "Well, we're here to support you. So don't you worry." Zane nodded. "Jay be right. The only way we're gettin' up ye mountain is if we be a hardy crew." Kaya smiled gently. "Remember. As iron sharpens iron, teammates sharpen teammates." Cole smiled at them before nodding.
"All right, teammates. Let's do this." He said before they started to walk up the mountain. The others watched them. "The blind man's eye will be passing the peak in T-minus four hours." Nya informed and Wu nodded. "Good, then if there isn't any trouble, they should be able to get there in time." Ronin looked at the mountain questioning. "Just out of curiosity, why is it they call it the Wailing Alps?" Misako turned towards him. "Because when the unnaturally strong wind gusts blow through the canyons, it creates a wailing sound. They say some gusts are strong enough to blow someone clear off the face of the mountain." She answered and Ronin nodded.
"Right. No trouble at all." He said in worry. Pyther took a sip of his hot chocolate, but it was completely frozen. "Stupid cold." He grunted before Selena used her magic to warm it up, making Pyther smile as he took a sip happily.
The ninja continued to climb up the mountain. "Heh. Not so bad when you get the hang of it." Cole said and Jay turned to the others. "So this sword of sanctuary. You really think you can see all of your opponents' attacks? If we had that kind of power, not even Morro could stop us." Kaya sighed. "But if Morro got his hands on it, nothing would stop him, which is why we cannot fail. We just have to keep climbing. Ugh, Zane. How much further is it to the top?" She asked and Zane looked scanned the mountain. "Thar be a long way. At least a hundred thousand steps up." He answered.
Kaya's eyes widened a little. "A hundred thousand? Good thing I'm not counting." She said before hearing hearing Jay counting. "267, 268, 269, 70, 71, 72, 72-oh, look, a little goat!" They all turned to see a walloper. "That's not a goat. Don't you remember? We rode one of those. That's a walloper." Kaya corrected him and Jay shrugged. They continued to walk before Zane noticed tracks. "Arr, look! Tracks!" He pointed out before Pixal scanned them. "These tracks are fresh, Zane. Be careful." He told him and Zane nodded.
"Pixal has analyzed ye tracks. We not be the first ones to climb this pass today." The other's eyes widened. "You think it was Morro?" Kaya asked and Jay nodded. "Who else is crazy enough to be at this altitude. If he's ahead us, we're bound to cross paths." Suddenly they heard wailing from the mountain. "What's that sound?" Cole nervously asked and Zane's eyes widened. "Wind gust! Anchor down!" He exclaimed before a strong wind started to blow, forcing them to grab onto the mountain. "I can't hold on!" Cole exclaimed before slipping, luckily Zane caught him as the wind stopped. "That was close. I owe you one." He thanked and Zane nodded.
Kaya looked up. "Come on, there's still a lot of mountain to go." She said before they continued, not knowing that Morro watched them. "So they are following us." He growled and Soul Archer nodded. 'We're too far ahead. They'll never catch us." Suddenly Morro held his head in pain. "What is it, Morro?" Bansha asked him. "Lloyd's spirit continues to fight my possession. He's getting stronger." Morro answered and the others looked at him. "Bah! You have already lost the allied armor, we cannot fail to secure the sword of sanctuary." Bansha said and Soul Archer nodded. "We could go faster if you abandon Lloyd's body. These winds don't affect us ghosts." He pointed out.
"Our queen would want us to-" Bansha said before Morro interupted her. "The Preeminent is not here, I am. And need I remind you, only a spinjitzu master can find the tomb? If I leave Lloyd's body now, the sword would be useless. Our queen sent me to find the tomb, so until she's freed, you serve me. Understand?" He growled and the others nodded. "At least let me slow them down. You summoned us for a reason." Bansha suggested and Morro nodded. "Very well. Send them a message. Something they'll hear loud and clear." Soon Bansha looked towards the ninja and grinned before letting out a loud screech.
The ninja covered their ears in pain. "Now what's that sound?" Jay asked. "Another gust?" Cole suggested and Kaya shook her head. "Worse. Avalanche! Here it comes! Hold on!" She exclaimed before they got caught in the avalanche, sending them down the mountain. "I can't control my mech!" Cole said as he tried to grab onto the mountain. Suddenly Jay and Kaya's mechs got destroyed before they landed onto Zane's mech, who was unable to get out. Cole looked at them in worry as they came closer to a cliff. "What do I do? What do I do? What do you do, Cole? You don't give up." He said determined before possessing the snow, turning into a giant snow version of himself that caught the others.
"Whoa, Cole, is that you?" Jay asked and Cole smirked. "Just picking you up to return the favor." He said and put them down on the ground. "You possessed the snow." Kaya said in amazement before Cole let go of the possession and smiled. "Yeah, I guess I did." Jay chuckled. "Haha! First we get cyclondo, then we get a ghost on our side!" Zane nodded. "'Tis good to see you smile." Kaya looked at the broken mechs. "All right, so we're down three mechs, but we're up in spirit. Still. How are we gonna catch up? We lost a lot of ground." She pointed out before Cole looked at Zane's mech and got an idea. "How about we see what else I can do?" He smirked before possessing the mech.
The others cheered as they quickly scaled the mountain. "It's like your possession has given his mech boosters." Kaya teased and Cole chuckled. "Boo-sters? That some sorta ghost joke?" They all laughed. "Haha, glad to see your sense of humor hasn't changed. Whoa, Cole, you've transformed it into a spider mech." Kaya happily said. "You know, this ghost thing isn't that bad after all." The others watched them from the ship. "How are they going that fast?" Ronin asked and Nya checked before smiling. "It's Cole. He's found his second wind." She cheered and Pyther smiled. "Go dad!" He exclaimed. Selena looked at the sky. "Well, they're cutting it close. The blind man's eye will be touching down shortly." She pointed out.
The ghosts arrived by a structure, looking around. "The hanging temple. The summit isn't far." Morro said before Bansha's eyes widened. "Impossible." She said and the others turned to see the ninja climbing up. "You said you got rid of them." Morro hissed at Bansha. "I wiped them off the face of the mountain." She argued and Morro scoffed. "Clearly you didn't wipe hard enough. This thing is slowing me down." He said and jumped out of the mech. "I'll go the rest of the way on my own." Soul Archer looked at him. "But Morro, the wind." He informed but Morro ignored it. "I control the wind. You three control the situation. Make sure they never make it to the top." He ordered and headed off.
Meanwhile the ninja soon reached the temple. "Ah. The hanging temple. We're not far." Kaya pointed out before getting hit by the Soul Archer. "Kaya!" The others exclaimed before she got up, completely unarmed and unpossessed. "The armor really works. I didn't turn into a ghost." She said before Ghoultar used the mech's grapple hook to make Zane's mech fall. Luckily the ninja managed to get onto the plattform. "Morro's getting away!" Cole exclaimed before Bansha appeared infront of them. "And you're not!" She said before screeching, making icicles fall down on the ninja, who luckily dodged them.
Kaya took out her aeroblade. "Who's ready for some exorcise? 'Cause we're about to do some exorcism." She said and Cole chuckled. "Now that is a ghost joke." Ghoultar used the mech towards them. "Ghoultar chop!" He said as Zane fought against him. Cole looked up and gasped. "The blind man's eye! We can't let Morro jump through it without us!" He exclaimed as the others fought against the ghosts. Jay almost got hit by an arrow. "Somebody almost got shot here. Where's the archer?" He asked before Cole saw him. "On the rooftop!" Jay threw his aeroblade towards him, but Soul Archer just dodged it with a grin.
"We have to figure out how to get rid of these windbags before it's too late!" Kaya informed while fighting with Bansha before the wind started to wail again. "Oh, speaking of wind. Anchor down!" Jay exclaimed before they all used their blades to hold onto the mountain. Morro meanwhile fought against the wind as he almost reached the top. "Stop it! It's me that controls the wind! Stop!" He exclaimed before the wind stopped. "That's better." The ninja meanwhile continued to fight the ghosts. "I wanna get off this stupid mountain. I hate heights." Cole said before Ghoultar walked towards them with the ghost mech. "Ghoultar smash!" He attacked them.
Zane quickly jumped onto the mech and activated the boosters, making it fly off the mountain. "Ugh. Such an idiot." Bansha facepalmed before seeing the ninja running towards the top. "They're getting away!" She exclaimed and Soul Archer grinned. "We'll see about that." He shot an arrow at the bridge, making the ninja hurry across before getting to the other side last minute. "Come on. There's no time to lose." Kaya said before they were almost at the top, Jay spotting Morro. "Ah! There he is! We're still in this race." He pointed out before Morro kicked icicles towards them, but they used their blades as shields. "We can do this. We're almost there!" Kaya said before they started to climb the icicles.
"Concentrate. We got this." Cole told the others before they saw the blind man's eye. "We're gonna miss the blind man's eye!" Kaya said before Jay groaned. "Oh, no. All this way for nothing." The wind picked up again. "We'll never make it in time!" Zane said before Kaya thought about something. "We will if we do one thing." Jay smiled. "Cyclondo!" Cole's eyes widened. "But I've never practiced it. What if I don't make it? What if I just blow off the mountain?" His voice full of worried. "Don't worry. We'll catch you. Just trust us. Remember, teammates sharpen teammates." Kaya smiled gently before she did airjitzu with Zane and Jay. Cole looked up and took a deep breath before doing airjitzu with success.
The others smiled at him cheerfully. "You did it!" Jay exclaimed before they reached the top. There, Kaya hugged Cole. "I knew you could do it. I'm so proud of you." Cole hugged back before they saw the storm. "Teammates sharpen teammates." He said and they all nodded towards eachother before they used airjitzu to get into the storm. Morro arrived at the top, but he was too late as the blind man's eye had already drifted away. "No. No!" He exclaimed as the other ghosts saw him. "He missed the window." Soul Archer said as Bansha nodded. "There will be other opportunities. But where's Ghoultar?" She asked.
At the Bounty was the others nervously checking the computer. "Their beacons. What happened? Where did they go?" Nya asked and Wu smiled. "They made it. They crossed over to the realm of destiny." Everyone cheered before they heard something fall onto the upper deck. "What was that?" Ronin asked before they headed onto upper deck and saw Ghoultar. "A ghost!" Pyther exclaimed before Selena made a cage of deepstone to catch him. "Let Ghoultar out!" He said and Selena shook her head. "Don't think so." She said. "Bring him aboard. I want answers." Wu said before they took him inside the ship.
Meanwhile the ninja opened their eyes and looked around. "Did we make it?" Kaya asked before they stood up and saw that they stood on clouds, aswell as buildings on the clouds. "We did. The realm of destiny. We're in the cloud kingdom." Cole answered and Jay smiled. "Now, let's find this sword of sanctuary." He said before they walked towards the buildings.
