Fixing Us

Shiro and Adam sat in front of each other. Shiro was frowning and Adam was avoiding eye contact. The rest of the group awkwardly standing against the wall. The tense silence so thick that it was suffocating.
"Are you saying– because I was taken and enslaved, that I should show my memories?!" Shiro asked harshly. His voice was cold, sending a shiver down Hubk's spine. Adam looked down and bit his lip. "That's not what I meant–"
"Then what did you mean?" Shiro interrupted, Adam sighing in frustration. "I said it made sense, Takashi! That was all I said, and all I will say." Adam spit Shiro's name out venomously which made him wince.
"Sure sounded like you were all for it!" Shiro's voice echoed harshly through the room. Adam's face turning red as anger bubbled in his stomach. "Shut up! You weren't the one left on Earth." Adam spat, pausing to blind back wet tears of anger.
"You weren't the one who dealt with the little brother you left behind, who although was right– was deemed in denial. Desperate to find you, getting kicked out and not caring because he could finally dedicate his time to you! You were not the man who lost his anchor, the one who got wishes of luck. The guy who got a month off because his fiancé died!" Adam was progressively getting louder. Shiro felt small, he felt like he was shrinking. But his anger was still there, and he had things to say.
"You cut us off! You said you wouldn't be there when I came back!" He debated, Adam's eyes flashing a look of hurt. "I said that because you left. You left me! Your family! Keith! It wasn't just me at this point, it wasn't just our relationship you were putting strain on to try to prove something, which you never needed to!" Shiro's hands clung to his sides, hands trembling as they were shaped in fists.
"I left because I wante–"
"Well maybe you needed to get your priorities straight. You might have wanted this, so clearly it is more important to you than the time we were engaged." Shiro froze and Adam was glaring daggers. Adam's eyes making holes in Takashi's body.
"Are you saying we're done?" Shiro asked, his voice had flattened. You could obviously hear how hurt he was.
Adam, still fuming, stiffly answered him; "Yeah. I guess it does."
