6: more than a nightmare

Mike: Finally we're home.

Vincent: Could've been sooner if there weren't so many people.

Both father and son sat down the heavy bags that were full of mechanical parts. It had been a long day of looking, and yet they still hadn't found all that they needed. The most they got was fabric and new tools, but that was  not all they needed.

Vincent: Bunny we're back!

The house was silent, which was odd with Bunny around. No footsteps, no silent singing, no nothing.

Mike: That's odd, usually you would've gotten a response.

Walking around the house Vincent called out for Bunny, but each time he got no response. Where could this child have gone to?

Vincent: Bunny where are you?

Mike: I found her!

Walking back into the living room Vin was greeted with Bunny halfway under the couch, Mike kneeling next to her. Her hands were over her ears, her body quivering, her cheeks stained red, and her eyes full of tears shut tightly. She looked so scared, as if she had been terrified for hours.

Mike: She's not responding to anything I say.

Vin knelt down, gently patting her head. He thought it would help, but it only resulted in her snapping at him with a growl.

Bunny: leave me alone!!

He quickly pulled his hand back, seeing just how terrified she was.

Vincent: Bunny calm down, it's just us

She opened her eyes, looking at both of them in pure fear. Her pupils were so dilated that you could barely see the whites of her eyes.

Vincent: Why don't you tell us what happened

She slowly calmed herself down, crawling from under the couch. Looking around the room, she took deep breaths as Mike rubbed her back.

Bunny: The nightmares

Vincent: *sigh* Bunny we told you, they're only bad dreams

Bunny: No they're not!!

She snapped once again, Mike pulling his hand back before he lost it. She stood up, pulling her hair as she walked around the room.

Vincent: Bunny calm down, they aren't real. A nightmare is just a bad dream, it's all made up inside you're head.

She looked back at Vin, a look of disbelief  on her face. She knew what she saw, and it was definitely not a dream.

Bunny: I was wide awake Vincent, I know what I saw

Mike: Maybe you're just sleep deprived

She groaned, seeing that they weren't gonna believe her. What did she have to do to prove that she wasn't lying?

Vincent: How about we go out to eat, maybe get you out the house for a bit

Bunny: I.....I'm not hungry.

She gave in, walking upstairs to change clothes. Looking back, chills ran down her spine as she noticed the nightmarish rabbit standing in the room. He stood there with that creepy twisted smile, making her quickly run up the stairs and to her room. Closing the door, she fought back tears as her body trembled in fear. Hearing a small squeak, she looked down to find a golden bear plush a her feet. She smiled, giggling as she picked it up.

Bunny: Haha, what are you doing off the bed little Goldie?

The white pupils of the plush turned, looking directly at her. Yeah the plush could move around, it just never talked much for some strange reason. Walking to her bed, she sat down and reached under her pillow. Pulling out a pack of Oreos, she gave one to the small bear as it immediately started munching on the cookie.

Bunny: You really like cookies don't you

It didn't answer, earning an eye roll from her. Turning on the tv, she watched as an anime opening began to play. Yawning, her body was suddenly overcame with the urge to sleep.

Plush: Are you tired?

Bunny: No I'm fine

Lying on her stomach, she yawned once more as her eyes slowly closed. She was slowly slipping from reality, falling into the world of dreams. Takin a deep breath, she sighed as reality left, leaving her to the nightmares that awaited.

'You know, we're more than just nightmares princess.'
