ANALYSIS

Plot:

Kedar Singh Rajawat was undesirable and unlucky. It was a fact. It was drilled into him the moment he arrived at their doorstep. He had accepted and continued his life, barely surviving in the midst of vultures out for his blood. At least that was the story before he had become the scapegoat for two powerful families.

An alliance with a royal family changes him into a mere pawn in games he had no part in.

What awaits him in the Mahal of betrayals and conspiracies is far beyond what he had imagined. He is pulled into the treacherous games they play the day he steps in there.

Will he survive unscathed or be trapped in the intricate web of deceit?

Characters:

There are two main characters in the story. Kedar, an orphan. He is portrayed as quiet, sassy, reserved, and antisocial. He also walks with a limp. The other characters of the story are his family members. Agastya is the crown prince. He is shown as focused, smart, work-focused, and direct.

Writing Style: 9/10

This story is written in 1st person POV. We get both the POVs of Kedar and Agastya. This allows us to see the emotions and characters of both the main leads. The story is written in such a way that paints a picture in the head of the reader. It doesn't overload with details but instead builds up the storyline gradually and smoothly.

Spellings and Vocabulary: 8/10

There are just a few spelling and sentence errors here and there. Be careful with punctuation.

EVALUATION

Overall Impression:

The prologue had me hooked from the start. I was worried that the quality of writing would drop, but it didn't. I love the idea of giving both main characters a chapter to express their POVs without hindrance. The story itself is common but the details are what makes it exceptionally unique. When I say common, I mean the arranged marriage trope is mostly seen in hetero-romance.

Strengths & Weaknesses:

There is perfect consistency in the storyline and writing method.

Recommendation:

I hope to see more of the story and character development.

Target Audience:

16-40, Young adults
