Dave's POV

It's been two weeks since I noticed Ivy worry.

She's been quiet since and its been killing me to see her that way. She talks less now.

I know she's worried that the problem's with her.

Well, I've also been worried that the probelm's with me.

I didn't know what to do.

She didn't want to talk about it with me. Anytime I brought it up, she'd change the subject and I'd leave it alone.

Today I decided we'd both go see the doctor.

"Tell me, Dave" she grumbled "Where are we going?"

"You'll see"

We were in the back seat of the car as Phil drove us to the hospital.

"We're here, Sir" Phil said minutes later as the car stopped.

"Lets go" I told Ivy, holding her hand and pulling her with me

We stepped out of the car and I felt her freeze.

I looked at her, she was staring at the hospital

"What are we doing here?" She asked, almost scared

"You'll see" I told her

"No, Dave" she said "I'm not going in there"

I pulled her to me and held her face
"It's gonna be fine. I just want you to stop worrying about nothing" I said, hoping it was true for both of us.

Not that if it wasn't, it would change anything.

I'd still love her unconditionally.

She sighed, nodding her head.

"Lets go" I gave her a small smile

We walked into the hospital and went to the reception
"I'm here to see Dr. Andrews" I told the nurse behind the counter

"M-Mr Connor, uhh, I'll inform him right away" She asked, smiling at me

"Thank you" I said

She got on the intercom and said a few things before hanging up.
"He'll see you right away" she said "Do you need directions?"

"No, thank you. We'll be fine" I said, Ivy's hand still in mine, we walked into the elevator and went to Dr. Andrews office.

I felt Ivy's nervousness as we rode the elevator up.

I pulled her to my side and kissed her temple.
"We're gonna be fine"

She looked at me.

We got out of the elevator and made our way to Dr. Andrews office.

I knocked and heard a quiet 'come in' before we went it.

"Dave." Karl said, getting up

"Hello Karl" I said shaking him

"It's been a while" he said

I nodded.
"This is my wife, Ivy Connor" I said

Ivy smiled at him
"It's nice to meet you Dr. Andrews" she said, shaking him

"It's a pleasure. I'm sorry I couldn't make it for the wedding" Karl apologised

"It's fine" I said

"Please have a seat" he said

We all sat.

Ivy sighed beside me.

"Dave called me a few days ago and told me what's happening" Karl said to Ivy.

Ivy looked at me.

"I want you to know that, its not something that happens right away. It takes time. Different period for different couples. It takes up to a year with some couples, so there's really nothing to worry about" Karl said "But to be a hundred percent positive, we're gonna run some tests. I just want to assure you that you have nothing to worry about before we proceed with the tests"

"W-what if there's something wrong...with me?" Ivy asked

"We would find solutions. There's always a way" Karl said "As for you, Dave. You ready for your own tests?"

I nodded.

"Okay" Karl said "Wait right here, I'm gonna see if everything's set up?"

Karl left.

"What tests do you have to do?" Ivy looked at me

"We both have to do the test, Ivy?" I told her "To be sure its neither of us"

She stared at me
"I'm sorry"

"For what?" I frowned at her

"I didn't know this was affecting you as much as it was affecting me" she said "I was too caught up in my head, it skipped my mind that you'd feel the same way I was feeling"

I shook my head
"Nothing is wrong with us" I assured her "You heard what Karl said"

"But still, he's not sure" she said "He just told us a fact, but that fact wouldn't change the test results."

I was quiet.
"I want you to promise me something" I said

She smiled
"Anything"

"I want you to promise me that if nothing is wrong with either of us, you'd stop worrying about it and let it happen when it wants to"

She nodded.

"And I also want you to promise that if..." I swallowed "...if something is really wrong, we wouldn't shut the other out. We'd go through it together"

"Only if you promise me too" she said

I smiled a little
"I promise"

She nodded
"Me too"

I kissed her forehead before Karl came in and told us everything was set.

Ivy and I were taken to separate rooms. I kissed her before I let her out of my sight.

Everything's gonna be fine.

I assured myself.

Approximately an hour later, they were done examining me. I changed from the hospital clothes to my own before I went back to Karl's office.

I was pacing when Ivy didn't show up.

Karl and Ivy came in a few minutes later.

I pulled her into a tight hug before we sat down
"Are you okay?" I asked her, worried sick

She smiled and nodded, trying to reassure me.

Karl sat down
"The results are gonna take a while. So you can either wait or come back tomorrow morning"

"Well wait!" Ivy said quickly

Karl looked at me and I nodded.

"Okay then" he got up "Get comfortable cause it'll be a long wait"

We both nodded and sat there in silence as he left his office.

The weird thing about time is when you actually need it to slow down, it doesn't. But when you need it to do what its good at, which is fly so fast, it ends up giving you the time you needed when you wanted things to slow down.

I was trying to keep clam and stop myself from pacing which will only make Ivy more nervous. So I just sat down in silence, hearing ever tick of the clock echo in my head.

Oh shoot me.

Seconds turned to Minutes. Minutes turned to hours.

I had no idea where my patience came from. But I knew Ivy was holding on to me, so I had to hold on for her. I was her strength, if I break, she'd break with me.

I had to keep it together for her. For us.

Two hours later and counting...

Dave came into his office and I could swear my heart stopped beating when he sat down with a smug face.

He swallowed
"Well..." he sighed "...the bad news is..."
