The next day during the evening at Magnus's Loft, Magnus was in his bedroom getting ready for the party of the new High Warlock of Brooklyn, Lorenzo Rey. Magnus didn't really wanted to go to this party, but it is tradition for the previous High Warlock to pass down the role to their replacement.

Magnus has some necklaces around his neck, has his rings on both his hands, he is wearing a dark red long-sleeve shirt on, has a grey tailcoat on, dark blue pants on, and grey boots on.

"I can't believe I have to go to this party, but it is tradition anyway." Said Magnus as he got himself ready.

Then as he got himself ready, Magnus started to get up and turn to see Alec without a shirt on, and his bare chest was showing and it have caused Magnus to blush really red when he saw Alec's chest.

"Oh wow, Alexander do you always have to make me blush by showing your chest?" Asked Magnus as he still blushes.

"What, you always like me without a shirt on." Said Alec as he wraps his arms around Magnus's waist.

"Okay fine, you are right, I do like what I saw." Said Magnus as he massages Alec's chest." And to be really honest, your chest does really make me blush."

"You are going somewhere?" Asked Alec as he look at Magnus.

"Well, I'm being invited to the party of the new High Warlock of Brooklyn." Said Magnus as he rolled his eyes." Every warlock will be there and I have to go as well."

That got Alec to look at Magnus and realize that he doesn't want to go alone, then he got an idea that maybe he should go with Magnus and maybe contact the others to come along with them so that Magnus won't feel lonely.

"Why don't I come with you to the party, so that way you won't be lonely there Magnus." Said Alec as he smiles.

That got Magnus to smile that his boyfriend wanted to go with him to the party, at first he didn't want to go alone to this party and wanted to ask Alec if he wanted to go with him, and then Magnus smiles.

"Wow, I was going to ask you if you want to come with me, but it seems like you beat me to it." Said Magnus as he smiles.

"Well, let me just get changed." Said Alec as he smiles.

"Fine, but again, I kinda like you without your shirt on, I mean seriously, your chest really makes me drool." Said Magnus as he stare at Alec's chest.

That got Alec to roll his eyes when Magnus is staring at his chest, but he did like the way the way Magnus touches his chest, then as he enter the bathroom, he started to take out his phone and texted the others. Then after a few minutes later, Alec was all dressed to go to the party with Magnus.

Alec is wearing a dark blue button up long-sleeve shirt on, a black blazer coat on, black pants on, and black shoes on. Then Alec started to come out of the bathroom and saw Magnus waiting for him.

"Wow Alexander, you know how dress really nice." Said Magnus as he smiles.

"Yeah, I kinda learn it from you, so let's get going." Said Alec as he smiles.

That Magnus to get really amazed that his boyfriend look excited to go somewhere, but then he brushed it off, and they both started to leave the apartment. Then as they both were outside of the building, Magnus look to see Clary, Jace, Izzy, and Simon all outside dressing really nice.

Jace is wearing a blue button up long sleeve shirt on, has a dark green blazer coat on, has dark blue pants on, and has black dressed shoes on.

Simon wears a blue button up long-sleeve shirt on, has a black blazer coat on, has a black tie around his neck, has blue pants on, and he has black shoes on.

Clary has her hair tied into a high ponytail, has a red heart necklace around her neck, she is wearing a dark green strapless high low dress on, has a silver bracelet on her right wrist, and has green heels on.

Izzy has a ruby necklace around her neck, is wearing a dark blue one shoulder dress that goes to her knee, has her silver serpent bracelet on her wrist, and has black heels on.

"Oh hello there, what are you all doing here?" Asked Magnus as he look surprise.

"We are all here so we can go with you to the party." Said Clary as she smiles.

"Alec told us that you are going to this party for the new High Warlock of Brooklyn, and we want to go with you." Said Izzy as she explains.

"Really Alec?" Asked Magnus as he look at Alec as he was really shock.

"Of course Magnus, we want to be there for you." Said Alec as he smiles.

"This Lorenzo guy may be the new High Warlock of Brooklyn, but you will always be the greatest High Warlock to us, and nothing will ever change that." Said Simon as he smiles.

"And no matter how powerful that Lorenzo dude is, you will always be more powerful than ever." Said Jace as he smiles.

That got Magnus to smile that his boyfriend and friends want to be with him for support, then as he nodded his head for agreement, they all started to go to Lorenzo Rey's place for the party. Then a few minutes later, they all arrived at Lorenzo's mansion, and they enter to see every single warlock are there.

"Well here we are." Said Magnus as he looks around the mansion.

Then Alec, Clary, Jace, Izzy, and Simon have all look around to see all the warlock's looking around the mansion, talking to other warlock's, while some are having beverages and snacks, and they all started to look a bit uncomfortable being here.

"Are you sure all of us here was a good idea?" Asked Simon as he look nervous." I mean, I'm starting to feel a bit nervous about this."

"Yeah." Said Magnus as he smiles." It's better than coming by myself."

That got Alec, Clary, Jace, Izzy, and Simon to look at Magnus hoping that he is joking about that, and then Magnus look at his boyfriend and friends and smile at them.

"I'm joking." Said Magnus as he smiles." They'll love you."

Then Alec grab Magnus's hands and smile at his beautiful warlock boyfriend, then as Magnus, Alec, Clary, Jace, Izzy, and Simon all enter the main room where all the warlock's are, and then some started to go to them and they smile when they saw Magnus.

"Aw Magnus, we are so happy to see you again." Said a warlock woman as she smiles.

"We are so very sorry that you have to step down." Said a warlock man as he look at Magnus." You don't deserve it, you had to sacrifice yourself to Valentine in order to protect all of us."

"Why thank you both, but I had to do it anyway." Said Magnus as he smiles sadly.

"Well, no matter what, you will always be the greatest High Warlock ever." Said the warlock woman as she smiles.

That got Magnus to smile at the two warlock's and then they started to leave to get a drink, it also got Alec, Clary, Jace, Izzy, and Simon to smile that all the warlock's will still see Magnus as the greatest High Warlock of Brooklyn, but they also look around and still feel nervous about being at the parties and Magnus started to speak.

"Oh, just because you're guys are only Shadowhunter's and vampire at a party full of warlocks doesn't mean you can't have fun." Said Magnus as he smiles at his friends and boyfriend.

"Yeah, well, that's easy for you to say." Said Alec as he look at Magnus." You've known these people for centuries."

"Alec is right Magnus, I mean we known so much about the warlock's history, but we don't know any of these people." Said Izzy as she looks at Magnus.

"And I don't feel comfortable about being here." Said Simon as he look really nervous.

"And you guys think that's a good thing that I know these people?" Asked Magnus as he look at the others." Trust me, I don't want to be here any longer than I have to, but it's tradition for the outgoing High Warlock to pass the baton onto his replacement."

Then Magnus, Alec, Clary, Jace, Izzy, and Simon all turn to see a man in the center of the main room talking to some of the other warlock's. The man has black hair in a low ponytail, has black eyes, he wears a black long sleeve button up shirt on, a black blazer coat on, black pants on, and black shoes.

Then man's name is Lorenzo Rey, the new High Warlock of Brooklyn, and then Alec started to look at Magnus.

"Is that him?" Asked Alec as he look at Magnus.

"The one and only, Lorenzo Rey, the new High Warlock of Brooklyn." Said Magnus as he rolled his eyes.

"So he's the new High Warlock of Brooklyn, he doesn't seem to be a good one, because judging the way he is looking, I'm think that he is seeking for attention." Whisper Simon to the others.

"Yeah, he doesn't seem to make a good High Warlock." Whisper Clary as she look uncomfortable.

Then as Lorenzo Rey finished talking to some of the warlock's, he turned to see Magnus standing at the other side of the room with Alec, Clary, Jace, Izzy, and Simon, and Magnus was about to leave till Alec stops him.

"Magnus!" Said Lorenzo as he goes to him." Magnus Bane, you made it and you brought some friends."

"Yes, hi." Said Alec as he smiles." I'm. . ."

"Alec Lightwood." Said Lorenzo before Alec can introduce himself." Head of the New York Institute, I expect we'll be seeing quite a bit of each other at your Downworld Cabinet meetings."

"Well, that's really interesting, I'm Isabelle Lightwood, Alec's sister." Said Izzy as she smiles.

"Ah yes, I heard so much about you, like how you are yin fen addicted." Said Lorenzo as he smiles."

When Lorenzo have said that it got Izzy to get really uncomfortable about that subject, you see a year ago, the Institute was run by Victor Aldertree and he gave Isabelle yin fen which cause her to go crazy and a bit ill.

"Well, that's true, but I'm over it by now." Said Izzy as she tried to smile.

"Hi, I'm Jace Herondale, I'm Alec and Izzy's brother, and Alec's parabatai." Said Jace as he smiles.

"Ah yes, I heard everything about you, like how you activated the Soul Sword and Valentine use it to kill some of the downworlders." Said Lorenzo as he smirk.

Then when Lorenzo have said that, it started to hit Jace a bit hard, a year ago when Valentine was still alive, he tricked Jace into thinking that he was his son and has demon blood inside of him.

So when Jace touch the sword, he thought he could destroy it and Valentine won't use it, but apparently he had angel blood and activate the sword which cause some of the downworlders to die.

"Yeah, I didn't know I had angel blood, and Valentine have tricked me into doing that." Said Jace as he tried his best to not let his anger out.

"Well, let's skip that part, I'm Clary Fairchild." Said Clary as she smiles.

"Ah yes, you are also known as Valentine's daughter, and I heard that your mother have hidden the Mortal Cup for years, and that she died of a demon attack when the demon control Alexander." Said Lorenzo as he smiles.

Clary frown a bit when Lorenzo have said that, you see Clary's mother Jocelyn hid the Mortal Cup for years so that Valentine won't create a Shadowhunter army, and a demon attack the Institute and control Alec into killing Jocelyn.

"Oh, well yeah she did die and hid the Mortal Cup, but it was only to protect the Shadow World and the Downworld." Said Clary as she tried to relax." And I don't blame Alec for what happen to my mother."

"Hello, I'm Simon Lewis." Said Simon as he smiles.

"Ah yes the Daylighter Vampire, I heard that you have such a rats blood in front of your mom, and you were a hostage to Camille." Said Lorenzo as he smiles.

That got Simon to hit pretty deep when Lorenzo have said that, but then he started to try his best not to lose his anger and smile at Lorenzo and started to speak.

"Yeah, well at least I control my hunger, so everything went well." Said Simon as he smiles and Lorenzo looks at Magnus.

"No hard feelings, right, Bane?" Asked Lorenzo as he look at Magnus.

"On the contrary, I'm very content in my new position." Said Magnus as he look at Lorenzo." Being the High Warlock is a thankless job.
Long hours, little pay but I'm sure that doesn't matter to someone as young and civic-minded as yourself."

"Oh, don't be so jaded, I may only be 484, but I'm no stranger to service." Said Lorenzo as he smiles." All those years working for the High Warlock in Madrid have prepared me well although I may not be as easy on you as he was. After all, I'm here to serve the warlocks, not portal you around like some glorified shuttle service."

"I wouldn't have it any other way." Said Alec as he did his best to smile.

"In that case, I look forward to our first Cabinet meeting." Said Lorenzo as he smiles." Enjoy the party."

Then Lorenzo started to go to the other side of the room to talk to some of the other warlock's, then as soon as he was gone Alec, Clary, Jace, Izzy, and Simon all started to frown a bit when Lorenzo have mention some of the subjects they don't like to talk about.

"Ugh, I don't like this guy, I can't believe that he just pull out the fact that I was an yin fen addict, but I have got over it." Said Izzy as she sips her drink.

"Yeah, and seriously it wasn't my fault that I activated the soul sword and Valentine killed some of the downworlders, I didn't even know I had angel blood." Said Jace as he frowns a bit.

"And just because Valentine is my father, doesn't me I'm like him, I mean he's a psychopath!" Said Clary in a bit of anger.

"I know that I'm a daylighter, but I don't like being a vampire, and he doesn't even know what I been through." Said Simon as he frowns a bit.

"Who appointed him?" Said Alec as he look annoyed."

"Nobody." Said Magnus as he frown a bit." There was a vote."

"Yeah, well looks like some of the warlock's vote for a new High Warlock is pretty low." Said Clary as she frown a bit.

"Seems to me like that Lorenzo dude is seeking for attention." Said Simon as he look at Lorenzo.

"And Lorenzo can be very charming as long as you're into phony, no taste, - egomaniacal pieces of sh. . ." Said Magnus as he was about to continue.

Before Magnus could say anything else, Alec look at the other side of the room, he saw a little girl peaking over to see them. The little girl has light brown hair, has black eyes, has a pink scarf around her neck, she wears a blue and green design dress on, and has pink boots on.

The little girls name is Madzie, she is a young warlock, she use to be the goddaughter of Iris Rouse, but Magnus help her and became the new daughter of his best friend Catharina.

"Language!" Said Alec which got the others to get confused when he said that.

"Alec!" Said Madzie as she runs to him.

"Madzie!" Said Alec as he smiles and carries her." Hey, my favourite little sorceress!"

"Hey there Madzie!" Said Clary as she smiles at Madzie.

Then as Clary, Alec, Jace, Izzy, and Simon all started to spend time with Madzie, a

"I can't believe you brought Alec, Jace, Clary, Izzy, and Simon here just to piss Lorenzo off." Said Catharina as she smiles.

"No, I brought Alec because he's my boyfriend, and the others came along to be with us." Said Magnus as he smiles.

"Well, Alec's good with kids, I'll give you that." Said Catharina as she smiles." And the others seem to like her as well."

Magnus look to see Alec playing with Madzie while Jace and Clary are both talking, while Simon is drinking some drinks, and Izzy is smiling at Simon having a great time. Then as Magnus was about to drink his champagne, he started to see that something is wrong, and Catharina started to look at him.

"Something wrong with your drink?" Asked Catharina as she looks at Magnus." Mine tastes weak as hell."

Then as Magnus look at his drink, he saw that it was started to shake a bit, and then all of a sudden, everything started to shake, which got everyone to get really scared and shock. Alec started to held Madzie closer to him while Jace, Clary, Izzy, and Simon try to held onto something.

Then as the shaking continued, all of the warlock's magic started to go a bit out of control, like they can't seem to control their magic, and their warlock marks began to go out of control as well, and as Magnus looks around, Catharina's warlock mark started to go out of control and started to feel scared.

"I can't control my magic." Said Catharina as she feels scared.

Magnus look around and saw that every warlock can't control their, and the shaking was getting even worse and some of the warlock's could be able to take it any longer.

"I'm out of here, man!" Said a man named Rufus.

Then Rufus started to use his magic to open up a portal so he could escape, but the portal started to turn red and when Rufus was about to go through, the portal have disintegrated his arm, and he scream in pain.

It got all the other warlock's to get really scared as well when Rufus's arm's was burn off, and then Lorenzo tried to use his magic to stop the portal, but his powers went out of control and his magic have hit clary's arm, which cause her to scream in pain and fell to the ground.

"Clary!" Shouted Jace as he kneels down to her.

Magnus saw that the red portal was heading towards Madzie and Alec, then as Alec wrap his arms around Madzie to protect her, Magnus started to try to use his magic to stop the portal, and then in a quick flash, the red portal disappeared and the shaking have stopped.

Every single warlock's magic have begun to go under their control, their warlock marks are now glamour, and everyone is alright all, but some were injured due to the fact that Lorenzo's magic went out of control. Then as Alec check to see that Madzie is okay, he started to look at Magnus with a bit of confusion.

"What's going on?" Asked Alec as he look at Magnus.

"I have no idea." Said Magnus as he look confused as well.

Then after a few minutes later, every single warlock have all started to leave after being a bit scared from that all that shaking, while some others warlock's help the others who got hurt, and then Magnus started leave with Alec as he carried Madzie.

"Are you alright Sweet Pea?" Asked Magnus as he touch her cheek.

Then Madzie nodded her head yes as she look at Magnus, then as Alec puts Madzie down, Catharina picks Madzie up and thank Alec for protecting her, then as she left with Madzie, Jace came out with Clary, Izzy, and Simon, as Clary was still holding her arm because of the injury she had.

"Biscuit!" Said Magnus as he and Alec goes to the other.

"Clary, are you okay?" Asked Alec as he holds Clary's arm gently.

"I'm okay, just a little bang up from what happen." Said Clary as she since a bit.

Then Magnus started to use his magic to heal Clary's arm, then a few moments later, Clary's arm have healed, and then Clary started to look confused.

"What was that shaking thing?" Asked Clary as she look a bit scared.

"It kinda felt like an earthquake." Said Simon as he felt scared.

"I have no idea what that was, but all do I know, is that it has strong demonic energy and that something terrible might happen soon." Said Magnus as he look worried.

That got Alec, Clary, Jace, Izzy, and Simon to get really worried at what Magnus have said, but little did they all know, is that Magnus was right about one thing, is that this is only the beginning of something terrible, and it will put up to a test at how Alec and Magnus's love for each other is stronger.
