"Daunting decision to make, isn't it Miss Granger?" A voice spoke causing Hermione to jump a little, she spun around and found herself face to face with Professor McGonagall. "I always thought I knew what I wanted to do after Hogwarts, I had it all planned out." Hermione explained sadly, "and now?" The old witch inquired, she was worried for the young witch.
"And now I don't know what I want." Hermione sighed, looking to her head of house for some kind of advice. "My dear, there is no reason why you cannot study 2 subjects. I believe you are one of the finest students we have ever had, I'm sure you could deal with the work load." McGonagall insisted, trying to reassure the young witch.
Hermione liked this idea a lot, if she focuses on two things she would not have time for painful memories.
So it was decided, she was going to take magical medicine, and some kind of teaching apprenticeship. She had always excelled at both charms and potions so they would be possibilities, Professor McGonagall told her she had until the end of the day to confirm her choices.

Professor McGonagall went to see Severus in his Office but noticed that he wasn't there, she decided to try his personal quarters down in the dungeons which now consisted of his living area and a small personal potions room. He wasn't too happy about Horace keeping his old quarters and the main potions classroom but how could he argue? He was no longer the schools potion master.
She knocked at the door slowly, and he invited her inside begrudgingly. "Minerva, to what do I owe the pleasure?" He sighed, leading her through into a dark room with a desk, a wall of books and a potion brewing island in the middle. "Have I come at a bad time Severus? Only I wish to discuss a student." She explained, taking the seat Severus had just gestured towards. "I see..." He drawled, stepping away from his brewing to listen.
"It's about Miss Granger." Minerva began, he nodded for her to continue. "She was contemplating taking both a teaching apprenticeship and Magical Medicine as her main class, as she is still in two minds over her future." She explained.
"I have no doubts over her abilities to juggle both, I personally would recommend potions for her apprenticeship. I think both subjects would go hand in hand." Severus insisted, Minerva nodded, "I will inform Horace right away." The old witch replied, rising from her seat to take her leave. "There is no need Minerva, I will be training her personally." He insisted, his voice clear and his tone as low as always. Minerva informed him she would send Hermione to him to discuss the matter and hurried on her way.
