Chapter Two: Jealousy
No, I'm not jealous, I'm happy for Mack. At least, I think that's how I'm supposed to feel.
She's been my best friend for a long time. I'm supposed to be happy when she feels the same.
I waited until the convention had finally ended, Angel and Mack were signing some autographs and taking pictures with the fans.
I kept banging my head on the bike, unable to comprehend what had happened between the two of them.
“This. Can't. Be. Happening.” I groaned, banging my head with each word. I had to do something by now.
I hid behind the tree and took a deep breath, taking my phone out my pocket and dialling Mack's number. The phone rung for a bit, then she answered.
“Oh, hey!” She said with a chuckle. It was kind of difficult to hear her properly as lots of people were surrounding the both of them.
“Hold on,” Mack went further away from the fans to be heard better, “What's up?”
I was starting to think that the idea I had in mind wasn't a good one.
“So, h-have you done anything special today?” I stuttered, thinking of the right words to mention.
“I'm guessing you've already seen it online since some of the fans were recording it.” Mack laughed a bit.
“Yeah, I did,” I cleared my throat, thinking of what to say next.
“Congratulations..?” I said in an unsure tone.
Mack smiled sweetly, “Thanks!” she chirped. She turned her direction to Angel, who was apparently calling her.
“Mack, we need to go!” Angel yelled as more of her fans came her way.
“Sorry, I got to go! Talk to ya later!” Mack said in a rush, stopping the call and running back to the arms of her new lover.
They both held hands as they rushed to get inside of the car. I was starting to think things over now.
Mack's basically taken now, following them back to the hotel would be a rather futile move, as there's probably no other way to change her mind.
I might as well leave them be and let them have a happy life together that they deserve.
No.
I deserve Mack, she's mine. This Angel person isn't who she really wants. She was pressured into saying yes since there were almost thousands of people watching them.
That's what's really happening. I'm sure of it now. I still have a chance to get her back.
I quickly sat on the bike and paddled as fast as I could, following them back to the hotel.
I will not waste that chance.
