I was at McDonald's, eating some ice cream. I took a glance at my phone, wondering If I should call Mack after all that.

I took a deep breath, I really wanted to see her, yet it was risky. Maybe she saw my face when I climbed down, or something similar to that.

Nonetheless, I scrolled down my contacts until I saw her name and called.

It took a long time for her to answer, almost about five minutes, but that didn't really bother me too much.

“Hey..” Mack groaned, breathing heavily and panting a little.

“What have you been up to?” I asked in a rather serious tone, remembering what I had seen earlier.

She hesitated to answer, “Me and Angel were packing and some creep was out our window.”

There was an uncomfortably awkward pause after that sentence.

“Yeah, uh, we didn't catch him though.”

That gave me a bit of relief, at least.

“Did you inform the police?” I asked in a calm tone, hoping that they actually didn't.

“We were about to, but it would be kind of useless, so..” She responded, a hint of worry in her tone.

I was hesitating to ask if she wanted to go out and hang with me, since I was absolutely positive that she'd want to bring Angel.

“Mack, uh, wanna hang out tomorrow?”

Sweat started to roll down my face as I had hard time controlling my breathing.

“It'll just be for a while, so you won't have to cancel any plans.” I added, making sure she would think about it and not reject the idea right away.

“But you're so far away.” Mack said in a quiet voice, clearly very confused.

I stared at nothing, dumbfounded at what she had said. I never got a chance to mention that I was here.

“I'm at the airport! I wanted to hang out with you, as you'll be busy with Angel in the future.” I might have responded a bit too fast, as I panicked and thought of the first thing that came into mind.

Mack gasped, jumping in excitement.

“You're here?! Hold on, I'll go pick you up!” She instantly hung up, leaving me unable to think about what I should do for even a moment.

I ran out the door as quick as I could, not even bothering to finish my ice cream anymore. I got on the bike and went straight to the airport.
