*Nikki Night

After I had left the office, I had gone to my room and put the boys to sleep on my bed. Then I waited for Riley to come to my room.

I noticed that Riley looked a little pale when he entered my room.

I had questioned him about it, "Are you okay, Riley? You look kind of pale."

"Yeah, I'm fine. It's probably because I'm tired. Let's go to sleep." That was his reply.

I had let it slide and gone to sleep holding his hand, Tyson and Dyson in between us.

It's been four days since Romeo and my dad found out about Tyson and Dyson. Everyone knows about them now. I never let them out of my sight.

I can always feel someone staring at me when we're in public but when I turn around I can't find anyone.

I get shiver when I'm alone which is mostly never since Riley won't leave me alone for even a second. I think he knows something, but he doesn't want to tell me.

Some times I would catch a glimpse of Avery when I'm playing with the twins but that could have been a coincidence.

I haven't told Riley about any of this. He already treats me like I'm made of glass. Not that I'm complaining since I like having someone looking after me. I think he would get more overprotective if I told him about my suspicions.

Riley's been on edge lately. He's always looking over his shoulder and keeping me close to him as if someone is going to jump out and steal me away.

Anyway, Riley and I are walking through the woods, randomly. Since we don't know exactly at what time I'm going to shift, we decided to just walk around.

My dad is watching Tyson and Dyson right now and he promised not to leave them with anyone.

We arrive at the waterfall and we sit crisscross on the grass.

"Riley." I say, staring at the waterfall.

"Yeah?" He looks to me.

"When I shift, I want you to be at a safe distance from me. I know that I'll never hurt you on purpose, but I don't know what will happen once I shift so just to be safe, okay?"

"Okay." Riley replies, gently.

We sit there in comfortable silence, holding each other's hand.

I suddenly hear something crack and a painful sensation runs through my legs.

"It's happening." I whisper.

Riley nods.

"Go." I plead.

Riley's lips meet mine before he runs off.

I stare at him as he stops a few feet away from me. He has a pained face.

I cry out as more of my bones crack. I feel as they rearrange themselves in my body. Tears flow down my face as the transformation proceeds.

Then everything stops and I'm on all four. When I think it's all over, I take a step foward.

I see Riley also take a step foward towards me.

Suddenly, blue flames surround me and I fall to the floor.

"Nikki!" is all I hear from Riley before a bright light blinds me.

Hey guys, sorry it's short again.

Anyway, I'm on my way to the beach and I wanted to update before I got there.

I know it might seem that I'm always going out but to be honest I never go out. I've been going out lately because I only have 1 more week til school starts.

Usually, my life's boring. Lol!!
