Nine
"There's a game room." Yoongi stated.
Taehyung and Yoongi were sitting at the bar, looking at the map of the lodge. Neither of the two had explored the whole place. They were both going to on day one, but the power ended up going out. Now, they've been drinking a few glasses and are so ready for some games.
They both hopped off the stools they were on. They left their drinks and when they finally came face to face with the game room, it wasn't what they expected. Not that they were exactly sure, anyways. Too many drinks had already gotten to them. Especially Yoongi, who was already acting much different than normal.
"Oh my—" Taehyung's face lit up at the shelves full of board games. "I bet old people would love to visit this place." He laughed.
Yoongi raised an eyebrow at him. His ears were red and he was up for a challenge for no good reason at all. He could feel the drinks getting to him already, because it had been a while since he truly drank so much.
"I'll have you know that I can beat some ass in board games." Yoongi traced his hand over all the boxes in front of him. "Old or not, luck is on my side when it comes to these games."
Taehyung chuckled, but his eyes landed on a specific game amongst the other ones.
"Ah," He smiled as he brushed past Yoongi to quickly pull out the game. "This is such an old game. I can't believe they have it." He said.
Yoongi eyed it. "What is it?" He took the game from Taehyung's hands and found the table behind him. It was a wooden table and it was long, but they sat across from each other.
"It's an art auction game." Taehyung said.
It's a very simple game— maybe if you're not tipsy— but it's Taehyung's favorite. Of course he loves art, but the game is genuinely competitive and he likes that about it, too.
"I'll show you my luck." Yoongi opened the box. He set the lid to the side and pulled out the board to the game. The board had a circle in the middle of it and a bunch of art photos. Yoongi was already lost on what to do.
Taehyung had a smug look on his face like he knew what he was doing. Obviously he does, but.. "Okay, so here's how you play."
-
"What is this?" Yoongi picked up an art card that had a weird looking art on it. It was basically an orange canvas with random squares painted yellow, green and blue on it. Yoongi furrowed his eyebrow at it.
"Hans Hofmann." Taehyung laughed at Yoongi's expression. "The Golden Wall."
Yoongi hummed as he took it. "You sure do know a lot about this game." He said.
"A lot about art." Taehyung corrected him.
"Whatever." Yoongi pouted. "Still cheating." He took the art and put it with the rest of his art pieces. Or Masterpieces. Because they're playing an art game. It actually turned out pretty fun to Yoongi, because luck actually did manage to be on his side for the game.
Most of the game.
Taehyung rolled his eyes. "I told you that we could play a card game or something."
Yoongi eyed him as Taehyung rolled the dice for his turn. "No, Taehyungie." Yoongi crossed his arms. "I told you that I was going to beat your ass in this game, and I stand by that."
The younger's eyes widened as his dice rolled a six, but his eyes weren't wide because of that. His eyes widened because the nickname that so easily came out of Yoongi's mouth. He looked up at Yoongi, who was just waiting for Taehyung to move his game piece. Yoongi had obviously drank more than him, because Taehyung never was really drunk or anything, just a little not sober. But Yoongi is drunk.
Taehyung finally moved his piece and chuckled at the spot he landed on, because he knew he was about to win and baffle Yoongi.
"How cute that you think you're going to win." Taehyung single handedly won the game. Just like that. Right in front of Yoongi's eyes
Yoongi pouted as Taehyung suddenly became cocky and smiled at Yoongi. Yoongi huffed as Taehyung showed off his stupid paper game money. Taehyung just laughed at him.
"You'll be okay." Taehyung said.
"I'll be okay after another drink." Yoongi moved his chair back as he stood up. He placed a hand on the table. "You pick another game and I'm going to go get more." He said.
Taehyung gave him a concerning look. "Are you sure you need more?" He asked. Yoongi nodded his head. He wanted more.
"Let's," Yoongi paused for a moment, looking down at the table in silence. Taehyung just stared at the older's side profile. His nose was like a baby's and his skin looked so smooth— like a baby's. Yoongi looks like a baby. "Let's play Uno." Yoongi finally managed to say.
"Uno?" Taehyung questioned.
Yoongi nodded. "Those cards speak to me." He headed for the door, grabbing his lantern on the way out. "You'll lose, Taehyungie."
Taehyung smiled as Yoongi left to go get another drink, as if he needed any more.
-
Taehyung actually lost in Uno.
Yoongi smiled at himself after he placed his last card down. He defeated the younger in the game and he was content with it. He picked up his glass, which had been next to him the whole game and he took another sip.
"Haven't you had enough to drink?" Taehyung asked as Yoongi tried to focus on him.
Yoongi spilt a little of his drink earlier, so the table was wet and he couldn't care to clean it right now. He picked up his glass again and laughed at Taehyung as if what he said was funny. Taehyung just shook his head at him.
"Get messed up today, be okay tomorrow."
Yoongi's drinking had clearly gotten out of hand. Taehyung finally took his drink away.
"I've never seen someone get drunk at this time of day." He sighed at Yoongi. Yoongi pouted and reached for his glass that Taehyung just pulled further away from him.
"What time is it?" Yoongi frowned.
Taehyung tilted his head as he watched Yoongi hit his own head against the table, clearly going to be regretting this tomorrow.
"It's lunchtime, hyung." He said. Yoongi groaned into the table. Taehyung chuckled. "You done playing games? Wanna go rest now?" He asked. Yoongi kept nodding.
The younger put the cards back in its case and tapped Yoongi's shoulder lightly to try his best to get him up and away from any more drinks. Yoongi had been actually drinking all morning. After they started talking again, they decided to talk over drinks besides just sitting at the dining table and talking about life.
Felt better to have drinks.
Not anymore. Not for Yoongi. Now he just felt like he was stupid. Of course the drinking would've been a good idea— if he knew how to stop himself and if he let Taehyung stop him earlier when he kept trying to stop him.
Taehyung finally got him out of the game room and as they walked by the living room, Yoongi gasped at the unlit fireplace and gasped even louder as he saw the snow outside.
"Christmas!" He gasped.
Taehyung furrowed his eyebrows as Yoongi tripped on the bottom stair and hit his knee against the second step. Taehyung leaned down next to him and grabbed his arms, forcing eye contact. His placed his hands on Yoongi's cheeks as he tried to look away from him.
"Yoongi." Taehyung looked straight into the man's eyes. "What the hell are you talking about?" He asked. Yoongi just frowned.
"Where's the Christmas tree?"
Taehyung shook his own head in confusion. Yoongi wasn't even talking about anything relevant in the moment. "Hyung," Taehyung lightly smacked Yoongi's cheeks a few times, watching as Yoongi's eyes squeezed shut. Yoongi's eyes fluttered open a second later and met Taehyung's. They just stayed there like that— Taehyung kneeled next to Yoongi, who was sitting on the steps he had fallen on.
"Wow, you're hot." Yoongi stated. Taehyung's eyes widened, and so did Yoongi's. "I— Sorry. I didn't mean that. I mean I did, but— I mean, not that I don't think that, but I didn't—"
"Please," Taehyung took his hands away from Yoongi's head, stopping from making him hold eye contact. Yoongi immediately looked away. "Stop talking and get the hell to bed."
Taehyung smiled as Yoongi tried his best to stand back up. He tried to help, but Yoongi wouldn't let him. He could do it alone.
Yeah.
Taehyung ended up helping him to his bed.
He hadn't been inside of Yoongi's room until now. It's close to what his looks like, except the placing of furniture. He watched as Yoongi made his way to his dresser and opened it. Yoongi pulled out a beige t-shirt and a black pair of shorts. He turned to Taehyung.
"Stay." Yoongi pointed at him.
Taehyung didn't move an inch when Yoongi left his room to change clothes. He wasn't sure why he was supposed to really stay there, but he did anyways. Yoongi's room was colder than downstairs. Probably because it's further away from the fireplace and because he had to put out the fire earlier— and the door was shut.
Taehyung didn't exactly feel great, either.
They both felt like shit.
Yoongi appeared back in his room with his oversized shirt and pretty legs showing. He smiled as he threw his clothes somewhere in the room and grabbed onto Taehyung's shirt, pulling him along with him. It didn't take long for Taehyung to realize that he was being pushed against a soft mattress and Yoongi was crawling on top of him with his blanket.
Taehyung blinked in confusion when Yoongi wrapped his legs around his waist and pressed his face into Taehyung's shoulder.
"W-What are you doing?" Tae asked. He didn't know where to put his hands or what he was supposed to do. He was flustered.
Yoongi huffed, blowing air against Taehyung's neck, which made him shiver at the feeling.
"Cuddling." Yoongi's lips brushed against Taehyung's skin so softly that Taehyung felt like he was going to burst. People say to live every moment like it's your last, but holy hell, Taehyung feels like this is his last moment.
Yoongi's skin pressing against him is the end of him. This is it. This will be Taehyung's end.
His goodbye.
Byebye, world. It was nice being here.
The older hummed into Taehyung. He felt normal. Taehyung was dying. Yoongi was smiling into Tae's neck. Taehyung's eyes were wide and his hands gently fell onto Yoongi's back, which just made him shift comfortably.
Taehyung licked his lips a million times.
What the hell is going on?
-
Yoongi felt his eyes open, but all he could see was darkness. He looked for his window and saw that it was barely lit outside and the sun was already setting. It confused him for a moment, where he was, until he started to remember things suddenly. He remembers talking to Taehyung, drinking, and playing an art game. That's pretty much it.
He blushed slightly as visions of cuddling Taehyung came into his mind. He frantically moved around his bed, feeling for another human— specifically Tae, but there was no sight of him. Maybe Yoongi was crazy.
Maybe it was a dream.
Why would he dream of cuddling Taehyung? How did he even get into his bed? How long did he sleep for? What time is it? He reached for his phone, which was under his pillow, but he realized that it was dead. And the power still isn't on after almost two days.
What the hell?
Yoongi groaned as he had sat up too quickly. Had he really drunk that much? So much that he can barely remember? So much that he literally dreamed of cuddling Taehyung?
How embarrassing.
Why would he dream that?
He grunted as he reached on his bedside table for his lighter, which was running out of fluid. He lit it and searched for his lantern, which was placed on the floor, not lit. Yoongi didn't remember putting it out or putting it there, but he doesn't care. He lit it anyways.
Yoongi made his way— slowly— down the steps. He was still wearing his pajamas, but he couldn't care less. He took painkillers from his room and instantly went down for a bottle of water to take them. On his way, he was met with Taehyung in the kitchen, who was too busy to notice Yoongi walk by.
"Don't you dare lock this door." Yoongi turned to him. Taehyung almost dropped whatever he was fiddling with by the sudden voice. "And good lord, how jumpy can someone be?"
Taehyung pursed his lips as he watched Yoongi walk outside. The man was crazy for going outside in a shirt and shorts, but it didn't take him long to come back inside.
"Holy hell, it's cold." Yoongi shivered.
"It's still snowing." Taehyung said. He turned in his seat to look at Yoongi. "You should go put on warmer clothes. It's dinner time." He smiled, his cheeks puffing up and his eyes glistening as he looked up at Yoongi.
Yoongi pouted. "Dinner?" He asked.
Taehyung chuckled and waved him off. "I can cook. You probably have a headache."
Yoongi stood in confusion as Taehyung looked away from him. He watched as he started looking through cabinets and searching. Yoongi remembers how Taehyung was just yesterday. He remembers how he was still slightly cold to him and didn't even barely want to try cooking. Now he sees Taehyung fucking smiling and attempting to cook for Yoongi.
"Am I still dreaming?" Yoongi asked. The younger turned to him and chuckled. There was a sudden flash of light in Yoongi's eyes, which made Yoongi frown. "Huh?"
Taehyung chuckled and walked towards Yoongi. "Here's my perspective." He turned what seemed to be a camera towards Yoongi. Yoongi stared in confusion at the photo of him with furrowed eyebrows. He looked like a mess. Taehyung chuckled. "So go rest."
Yoongi still stood in confusion.
"Delete it!" He frowned.
Taehyung chuckled. "Why would I do that?" He asked as he set his camera down. "I need to capture photos on my vacation, don't you think?" He asked. Yoongi scrunched his nose.
"Yeah. Not of me, though."
"But you are my vacation." Taehyung smiled sweetly at Yoongi. Yoongi still felt like he was dreaming. There's no way this is Taehyung.
This guy is so sweet and actually fun. He was fun to spend time with this morning.. Had he really changed that much now? Now he's funny and he's talkative and.. nice? Sweet?
That's the real Kim Taehyung?
There's no way.
Yoongi's head started to hurt the more he kept thinking. Taehyung just smiled to himself as he worked with some type of meat that Yoongi hadn't even noticed before. He's making hamburgers. Taehyung is cooking. Going to.
Didn't he say he didn't know how to cook?
"Hyung," Taehyung was suddenly walking towards Yoongi again. Except, he wasn't stopping. He put both of his big hands on Yoongi's cheek— something Yoongi suddenly remembered happening earlier this morning. His eyes widened as he looked into Tae's.
"Y-Yeah?" he asked through squished cheeks and slightly pouted lips. Taehyung chuckled.
"Go rest." Taehyung smiled. It was so fucking breathtaking. It all was. "I'll cook for you."
And Yoongi's now fully melted.
Melted by Kim Taehyung.
